First drawing of Donald Duck/Ducktales and all I do is angst I’M SORRY not really I would have drawn something more joyful if I wasn’t in a dark state of mind myself. Blame it on my familial situation.

Anyway, did you know Donald has depression? Well sort of, but in a lot of Rosa and Barks’ comics he shows many symptoms, from self-loathing to lazyness to… wanting to give up on life. Yep, that happened.

And because Ducktales 2017 is full of angst and SPOILERS Donald himself sort of told Storkules he was hurting from his sister’s disappearance in the episode The Spear of Selene, I’m pretty sure he also has some issues in this show. Maybe season 2 will focus on it a bit more.

I wish other portrayals of Donald showed him in his full colors rather than the jerky, hot-headed duck who’s jealous of Mickey (one of his best friend, let’s not forget!) success in life. At least Ducktales 2017 and the comics make him justice.
