"Here to stay as long as they'll let us keep riding this wave together. If there is anything I've learned from our run together is that things can only go higher."

"Yeah, getting used to those too. Everything in the ring wouldn't mean anything if we didn't have what we have outside the ring.

"Twenty years in the ring with some of the best and I can honestly say that I have been having more fun right now than I have at any point in my career. And it's thanks to this man right now standing by my side as my tag partner. More than just a tag partner he's also become my friend, one of the few I have. It's hard to believe we've been at this a year now. Even if we go our separate ways eventually I can tell you that nothing will be the same after working with him."

"It comes through and the fans get to see it an enjoy it because we are actually feeling it. That's something that you have helped me with immensely. Not worrying about anything but enjoying what we we do in the ring together. It's not an act at all. And it's not something I want to give up any time soon. Here's to sticking together a hell of a lot longer."
"Here we go again."

"You say you're the lucky one. Believe me, the lucky one is me. You've helped me more than you know. Even if we started rocky we got where we are because I've learned just as much from you as you have from me. I for one am thankful for every minute we've been able to spend together."

"Balance is the key. You do you and I'll keep doing what I do. It's what we've been doing and look where we are, right? You've done a lot to help me be happier too. "

"The logo is on my hoody and that's as far as it goes. Can't be changing my gear up too much. I like keeping it simple. You can wear all the fancy stuff and I'll keep mine simple. Your gear does look great though. Always does."

She told him to lead the dance. But Randy knew Chyna well enough that she wasn't the type to follow anyone and that was something he loved immensely about her. She wasn't someone who followed in a shadow, nor was she one to step out and try to lead all the time. At least she hadn't been with him. They took turns if anything and that's what made being with her all the more exciting for him. Maybe this is what he really had needed all along. Not just someone who understood and could forgive things that had happened in his past, but someone who had been down that same broken road and could truly understand what he was going through. It changed things when you finally felt that kind of connection with the one you love. As they danced Chyna untangled herself from Randy’s hold as she held one of his hands and she stepped around him to come around behind him. His focus on her Randy didn’t notice anyone or anything else around them as he watched her dance around him as if she was casting a spell on him with every move that she made. He couldn’t help but be amused at the thought because in a way he felt like she had cast a spell on him with her love. Her very presence was intoxicating to him.
That combined with how drunk he was when he heard the voice interrupt his blissful moment with Chyna it sounded like they were talking from a distance and was shocked at the sudden interruption. “How about you come dance with someone that knows how to appreciate it?” The man had stopped Chyna where she stood behind Randy. He was clearly wasted beyond reason as his words were slurred and he was swaying slightly as if he was fighting to stay on his feet. Chyna snapped back at him before Randy could even think of something to say. “How about you go back to whatever hole you came out of and leave us alone like you were told to!” It wasn’t until that moment that Randy focused on the man’s face and realized it was the same man that had sat down in the booth with Chyna earlier. The man kept insisting on being a pain in the ass. “Anyone dancing like that is begging for more than just a dance.” He suddenly grabbed Chyna’s wrist and before Chyna could even react Randy gripped the man’s wrist and pulled Chyna away from the man.
Shoving the man back away from her slightly, Randy stepped between them putting Chyna behind him. He stared hard at the man with a cold emotionless look on his face, he was trying hard not to let his temper snap and it was taking a great deal of effort considering how drunk he was. “Thought I told you not to let me see your face again.” The man scoffed at him and stepped back up to Randy as if he was sure he could take him on. When the man answered he shoved Randy back a bit. “What are you going to do about it?” Feeling the tension building in him Chyna reached for Randy’s hand holding it tightly as she stepped away trying to pull him with her. “Come on, Randy. He’s not worth it.” At first Randy didn’t budge as he was still staring the other man hard in the eyes clenching his jaw a few times as if debating on whether to punch him or not. When he felt Chyna tug at his arm again he started to turn to follow her. This was another thing that he needed. He needed someone that could help be his voice of reason when the time called for it. He knew his tempers well and easily it snapped, especially when he wasn't sober.
He should have known better than to take his eyes off the man. He’d been in enough fights he should have known to keep his eyes on the other man and backed away as he followed Chyna. But he was having to focus so much on not losing his temper that Randy wasn’t thinking clearly about anything else. Because of it, as soon as turned his eyes away from the other man he barely caught the sudden motion out of the corner of his eye as the man swung his first towards Randy’s face. It connected high on Randy’s left cheekbone. Caught off guard like he was, he rolled with the punch a bit and in that instant his battle with keeping his temper under control was lost. In one smooth motion Randy reached for the man with his left hand grabbing hold of his shirt as he pulled out of Chyna’s grip and balled up his right fist and drove it into the man’s face. The man stumbled back but Randy didn’t let go of his shirt and pulled him back towards him and brought up his right elbow driving it into the side of the man’s head before he finally let go of him. Just as Randy was stepping towards him though the man charged at him and put his shoulder into Randy's stomach tackling him to the floor. Instinct and reflex taking over as they tumbled to the floor Randy rolled so that he ended up straddling across the man's midsection braced on one knee as he pulled back his right arm and balled up his fist ready to strike again at the man's face. He was past the point of no return and was now willingly letting himself rage on the guy as he drove his fist into the man's face a few times. He was poised to do it again when he felt strong hands grab a hold of him as he was pulled off of the other man and realized members of the security crew were pulling him off and holding him back. His temper raging past reason in the moment, he fought against them, unable to deny that he wanted nothing more than to finish driving the other man’s skull into the floor. He hadn't started the fight but he was damn well going to finish it.
The security team proceeded to drag him towards the exit and when there they dragged him outside. Once there they promptly let go of him and Randy stumbled a couple of steps away from them. He turned to face them when he heard one of them talking. “Cool it! Look, we know you didn’t start it. But you’re done for the night! I’d suggest you walk it off somewhere else.”
Having no choice in it Randy turned away from them and walked in the direction of his car. When he got there he slammed his fist down on the hood. "Dammit!" Exactly what he had not wanted to happen had happened. Seemed like no matter how hard he tried something always happened that ended up showing everyone their assumptions about him were right. Nothing but an egotistical asshole that used violence to solve all his problems. He knew Chyna would argue that he was drunk and it wasn't his fault. But it was his fault… he should have kept walking. He should have known better. Knowing that he couldn't face her right now Randy opened the door of his car grabbing his jacket and then closed the door. He knew he couldn't drive and he didn't want to leave Chyna stranded with no way home. He dropped the keys on the front seat as he closed the door. Putting his jacket on he headed out of the parking lot and headed down the sidewalk not really caring what direction he was going in. He just couldn’t face her right now. He failed in doing the one thing that he had been so set on trying to do. He wanted to show Chyna that there was more to him than what so many saw on the outside and assumed was all there was to him. Knowing he had to cool off before he could face her, Randy kept walking, the only thought on his mind was what he would tell Chyna and how to explain it to her when he did face her finally. He couldn’t let it end like this.
Born of Respect
It had been an encounter for the ages.
One where they both had beaten the hell out of each other. By the time it was allover, Randy Orton had been the one whose hand was raised as victor.
Chyna had gingerly made her way to the back, the PPV having gone off air. She was bleeding in places where the medics had tended to her. Her entire body was sore. Stiff all over and yet, she felt this certain tranquility. Did the loss make her feel sour? Of course it did. She was inches close to making history and had lost that opportunity but it had been a bout that people would be talking for years to come
As she had always done, Chyna had gone where nobody had ever gone before. She had crossed the Rubicon for the umpteenth time.
The visit to medics for routine post match checkups had followed a shower. The warm water had made Chyna’s body ache some but soon enough she was out of women’s locker room, a place that she found so utterly boring, so very dull with its endless gossip mongering and bitchy politics and all this drama the girls liked.
It wasn’t too hard for her to march in the boys locker room. This was where she was found most of the time anyways. Some of them welcomed her and she smiled back, taking the greeting.
Clad in a sports bra and jeans, she was keeping it basic as her eyes searched for one man. The very person who had pushed her to the lengths that nobody had before and in return she had done the same.
Randy Orton.
She found him wrapping his wrists and walked up behind him. Clearly, the Viper had noticed her.
“Indeed there.” Chyna responded to Randy as she tapped on his shoulder, prompting him to turn around.
“I wanted to congratulate you on your victory. We both gave all we had, you came with the goods at the right moment….and above all, I want to thank you for treating me for who I am.”
A thin smile lingered on her lips as she referred to her own theme song and her hand extended forth, her biceps rippling with amazonian strength even at the small gesture as she waited for Randy to take her hand.
