blhergeghrgjksgfhdsj okay i know its only two more pages. but like i finished the last page here weeks ago and then realized i had to remake it because i was unhappy with both wind's and four's designs, and so i ended up procrastinating on having to redraw and shade parts of the file (and even if i didnt redraw it i literally forgot four in the first attempt) so, yeah. next update will try to contain more than 2 pages, there was just a little bump in the road and it caused me to stall for a bit lol (also ive been working on my rain world mod way more than this too)

ill show the old version of page 7 because why not

kinda messed up wind's face in the remake but i just needed it to be done lol

also second bonus you get to see four's and wind's redesigns :)

anyway yeah. now that that menace of an error is dealt with i can easilly make more pages yayayayayyy

making the first chapter of the comic is so tedious lmao i just wanna get to the point where theyre all grouped up and i can torment them with the plot but i gotta make them actually meet first. i AM making progress it is just slow progress. but it is progress. as in i think 3 pages right now.

anyway i saw this hat on pinterest and i saved it because i absolutely had to draw spirit in it, it is very fitting. im trying my best to give him more character than just the trauma-driven anxiety which i think im doing decent at but like. yeah here you go enjoy

bro one of my pups in wolfquest died right after i was wholeheartedly sure i was gonna beat the game with none of them dying and it left me literally open-mouthed in surprise so i drew tracker to make myself feel better (and also to say that im not dead but thats not as funny)

rip paper clip you were one of the first to be ready for the next segment of the game

okay edit apparently i exited the game without saving and because its a permadeath (ironwolf) save i thought it would save automatically 💀it didnt so paperclip has been revived through the power of accidental cheating

im trying to work on the comic at my own pace, which unfortunately means i usually work on whatever else im inspired to do (but hey at least i wont get burnt out this way) however i did doodle sky because i wanted to show my design for him (and also actually post something)

i got really lazy with the shading and i accidentally reverted to my second much older artstyle with the lineart instead of the lineless that i use for the actual comic, so it kinda looks bad but i mean. here you go lmao

gonna put a read more here cause im realizing im typing a lot

Sky: im gonna be honest i now that i think about it sky doesnt have much of a developed personality (i havent even played ss i just watched a letsplay and that was many years ago. i should probably refresh my knowledge of the plot), but from what i can think of, he is quite stubborn; like if he has a determined goal there's no way he's backing out unless he gets informed that the goal is unreasonable. he's often sleepy but in the way that he knows what he needs to take care of himself; like he's probably the one in the group reminding everyone to drink water lol

Four: four is kind of a varied mix of all of the personalities of him when he's split (trying my best to display that in a more natural way instead of it literally looking like there's 4 different people in one body) so he's very smart, but also stubborn and is pretty prone to emotions. he can also get pissed off really easy, but can calm down pretty quick lol

Time: he's really respectful and honest, but the honesty is really vague (in the way that he's not going to dump his entire life story but he'll give the required details) he easily becomes the leader of the group (one of the things that carried over from linked universe when i was making this) and he can hide stress really easily. time genuinely wants the best for all the links cause he recognizes theyve been through a ton of shit and so has he, he just is good at coping with it.

Wild: okay so wild is kind of a huge asshole lmao. she gets really cocky and is somewhat the kind of person to push others down to try and lift herself up, but i'd say she does it out of a (very bad) coping mechanism for everything she's been through. she acts like she doesnt care about her lost memories, but she does still feel bad about everything that happened to her and her zelda, and so she tries to uplift(?) herself with being all snarky

Legend: uh so idk how much i can give about leg's personality without it being a side-plot spoiler, but what I can say is he is very self isolating and tries to avoid making bonds with anyone for. reasons. and you can imagine that getting stuck in yet another mysterious plane of existance with things that make no sense (meeting links from other timelines) is pretty hard on him considering how much that just doesnt sound real.

Tracker: bro is still lonely and misses midna desperately. he's similar to Time in a lot of ways, but he's far more open about things and he is very social. he's the kind of person to joke about his problems instead of actually dealing with them, though.

Wind: this kid is the sassiest person ever. he may have picked up on some of that from tetra, and he is in complete denial over the fact that they defintely are more than friends (enter spirit who completely ruins his day with the information of their future). wind is pretty chill about birds, but if he sees a big one, he is LEAVING THE ROOM. (and yes, that would count for sky's loftwing if it ever comes up) him and spirit have this older-younger brother dynamic (which ill probably suck at writing cause i have no siblings lmao) (spirit is the older one) and at some points wind really feels bad about new hyrule, thinking that when he founds it he ends up founding it wrong when really spirit's problems dont relate to the founding of the country at all. wind is incredibly stubborn, and like. does not think before he talks at all (he's so real for that)

Adventurer: he's cautious, but in a chill kind of "prepared for anything" way. has pretty good survival skills, and is one of the ones to help build shelter for the group when it's needed. he has a backpack with tons of supplies, cause his era is basically a recovering post-apocalyptic nightmare (but in a more calm way that it would be in zelda 1). he's really kind, but physical contact disturbs him a lot. Adventurer is very helpful, but can tell when someone in the group is being to much of a jerk to really "deserve" all the help.

Spirit: oh boy lookie look its one of my favorite games that ive literally never even played. which means this is probably gonna be a very long block of text. Spirit is cautious, overly cautious. he has like. a lot of anxiety regarding the events of his journey (his zelda is equally traumatized but she deals with it in a more angry and fed up way than spirit's constant fear) and doesnt want anyone in the group to get hurt, and will go far out of his way to try and protect them. he doesnt like opening up about his issues at all, and so the rest of the group is kinda like "what is going on with this kid man" and he just avoids the question. once he's used to the group he does have a lot of fun with them, but still with that constant lingering fear. being away from his zelda means that he has no way of knowing whether she's safe or not, which does worry him quite a bit. his zelda is worried about him too, all of the zelda's are worried about their link, considerings they have just dissapeared without a trace. but yeah spirit is usually the one dealing with mechanics (and scolding wild for using her zonai tools so unsafely) but yeah the fact that he's stuck in a weird limbo realm scares him a lot. he just wants to go back home. they all do.

but yeah here's the personalitlies. everything is subject to change of course, im not very consistant with things, but here we are. thanks for asking lol

Welcome to Combined Courage!

Combined Courage is a links meet au ive been working on for quite a long time now! it was originally very inspired by linked universe, but i like to think that it's taken more of its own path now (and one of my main reasons for making the project totally wasnt that i needed to see more spirit tracks in linked universe and so i just made my own au cause i built up an entirely new character for him in my head nope not at all)

Obviously im gonna try and give each of the links an equal amount of character development but my favoritism will most likely be very visible. sorry about that lol

important to keep in mind; i havent played every zelda game, so my information might be a little off or non-existant in some places. im just here to have fun, and if i mess up and you wanna correct me thats fine, please just do it in a kind way because uh. yeah.
