SHIELD.
Straker had dealt with them a few times in the past, but he'd never actually been to any of their bases before.
Today was different. He'd been invited by the Director. So here he was, sporting both a 'Guest' pass and his own SHADO ID, properly identifying him as its Commander.
"So! This is SHIELD, eh?" He thought out loud as he stood in the foyer, looking around.

Have you ever met a friendly alien? Do you try to make conversation prior to going on the offensive?
"The simple answer is no. Most are hostile from the moment our radars spot their UFOs. We've tried questioning those we capture but they refuse to communicate.
And, for the record, they are hostile to us. They attack our Moonbase and Interceptors to try and reach Earth."

What made you want to join your line of work?
"I was an Air Force pilot. I met Alec Freeman, my now Deputy Commander and later Henderson, who is a General I report to in the International Astrophysical Commission. It was Henderson's idea and he invited me to join in.
It sounded like a good idea. An important one. So I signed up," Straker shrugged.

What's your family like?
There is a hesitation.
"I don't have any family."
Should he explain?
No. Absolutely not. Not to a stranger.

Ed Straker.
Commander of SHADO (Supreme Headquarters Alien Defense Organisation), operating from below Harlington-Straker studios where Straker works as a film director as a cover.
He occasionally also travels to Moon base where SHADO is always ready to launch their Interceptors to seek and destroy any UFOs attempting to invade Earth.
Straker is no-nonsense and very black and white about things. He won't play games with his crew, he'll tell them as it is, even if they won't like the answer (unlike a certain SHIELD Director).
