Quick question about number of comments. Rules state that the writer's replies to comments don't count, but I'm unsure what that means for longer comment threads. If the comment thread is reader - writer - reader, does that count as 1 or 2 comments? Thanks.

I think I originally meant to count it as two comments, but then never actually did. I should probably change the rules to say number of comment threads.

Yes, that is the exchange part of Comment Exchange. As stated in our rules, you can also comment on works not in our masterlist: "Alternatively you can comment on any fan work with no more than 10 comments (15 for works with more than two chapters or an equivalent). If you comment on something not on our Masterlist, it would be great if you mention Comment Exchange in it, but this is no longer mandatory."

Please remember, that only one submission per person is posted per day, and that there is a maximum of submissions in one week. So submitting all 180 works will take you quite a long time and there is a good chance more works you'd like to comment on will be submitted during that time.

You can also always spread the word about Comment Exchange in your fandoms, as that might increase the number of works you'd like.

Welcome

We have a lot of new people following this blog, thanks to the shoutouts from @nomorezerocomments and I want to welcome them all to Comment-Exchange. I'm still working on a new pinned intro post, but that should hopefully be coming in the next few days.

Until then, I have a little question for you. We've had about 60 new followers in the last two weeks (which is awesome), but only two of them submitted fics. I would really like to know why. Is it the comment first rule? Are the rules too complicated? Is the submission form overwhelming? Is it too hard to find fics too comment on? Or is it something completely different?
