non-muslims: please don't overcorrect for islamophobia by ignoring what is happening in iran right now (women being killed for not wearing or improperly wearing their hijab)
supporting the freedom to choose to wear a hijab means also supporting the freedom to choose not to
mahsa amini was arrested and killed for "improperly" wearing her hijab. there are massive protests happening and police are killing protestors. spread the word.

I feel the need to clarify why IT ABSOLUTELY DOESN'T MATTER WHO THE FATHER OF RHAENYRA'S CHILDREN IS:
Rhaenyra is the heir. The line of succession passes through her to her oldest living child at the time of her death.
This is DIFFERENT THAN WITH CERSEI. The line of succession didn't pass through her at all; it passed through Robert to Robert's oldest child. It therefore really mattered that Cersei's children weren't Robert's.
ALSO PLEASE STOP CALLING RHAENYRA'S CHILDREN BASTARDS. Yes, Harwin was the baby daddy. No, that does not automatically make them bastards. All her children were claimed by Laenor and legitimized by him. He knew he wasn't the biodaddy, but he adopted* them all anyway and MADE THEM HIS.
This is why -- whatever Alicent wants to infer -- Viserys and Rhaenyra and Laenor and Corlys and Rhaenys and Daemon and Laena DON'T GIVE A FLYING FLIP that the baby daddy isn't Laenor.

I've been sitting here wondering why Alicent is all bent out of shape about this lie but I think I just had a light bulb moment.
Otto said to prepare Aegon to rule, or cleave to the Princess and pray for her mercy.
With the swearing false, right to her face, Alicent realises that she will never be able to trust her word again. No matter how the Princess promises mercy, Alicent can never be 100% sure of her children's safety. After all, shes been a naive fool for her friend before.
It's not what the lie was. It was that she could be lied to at all.
(not going to be picking out any green threads myself, but I appreciate the nuance)

What sseason 8 plot hole?
I think you'll find that Gendry also comes from Aegons blood on his dad's side, and he and Arya had just... Ya know.
So the Prince Who Was Promised was clearly the zygote they created, and *that's* why the show went out of the way to highlight the gender neutral language: it's way too early for the Ye Olde Gender scan.

I cannot stop thinking about Hob teaching in this day and age. I bet that there’s some student of his who’s into obscure historical figures. Imagine they came across this one Knight who was so well respected he hosted THE QUEEN, only to later be accused of being a witch. And the student finds like ONE old oil painting of Sir Robert Gadling and he looks a bit like the professor if they squint a little. And the whole class thinks this is a hilarious meme. They make edits. They exposit on how it must have sucked to be called a witch for having a skincare routine. They call him Grandad (he isn’t) and ask if he knows how to wield a sword (he does).
Sometimes Hob hates it, but mostly it’s funny, and he’ll play along. Especailly when they try to come up with reasons why he seems to dislike shakespeare.
“Did the Bard steal your girl, sir?”
“Probably took offecnce at his depiction of witches.”
“Nah, I reckon he owes him a goat or something.”
“Is that it Prof? Does ol’ Willy owe you a billy?”

Did the King really send the Moontea, or was it an Otto and/or a maester plan to ‘prove’ that she’d been ‘spoiled’?
After all, if nothing had happened, she wouldn’t need to drink it.
idk, just feels like a trap, is all.

The real tragedy of today is the fact that the Horrible Histories Monarch Song is no longer current.

You know, the thing I like so much about The Sandman is: in a landscape of GrimDark adaptions that seem to punish an audience for expecting a happy ending, Hope runs through the first season so clearly. The other types of tales have their place, but frankly, my spirit is really feeling the love of being offered hope by the story itself. Rather than having to cling to the battered scraps of it. Yes, it’s dark and tragic, and characters suffer in unspeakable ways. But we are never left feeling desolate.

I had recently downgraded my Netflix subscription because what did I need with 'ulta HD 4K resolution'?
And then The Sandman dropped, and I NEED to watch this masterpiece in as much detail as possible. So here I am, doubling the amount I pay for this streaming platform and crossing my fingers it gets a second season.

Compilation of Margaery's redesigns!
I had a lot of fun with Margaery's costumes... but I also think her arc isn't finished... a little bit tempted to add her to the list of designs I might circle back to for a final Queenly design.

So, Steve is gonna sing to Nancy to bring her back in volume 2 right? What if her favourite song is whatever they were listening to when they got it on is season 1?
*EDIT*
OK, so they were listening to "waiting for a girl like you" by Foreigner, which actually really makes sense with Steve's arc too.
