I constantly dart between multiple things, multiple projects and ways to learn, art is so fucking complicated in that way. like I wanna get better at comics and animation but those are completely separate skills sets w their own steps and my makes my brain scattered trying to figure out what to do

since I have dug myself out of art regression nearly 2 years ago I feel like i've come a long way to where i'm actually satisfied with my art as long as my perfectionist brain can take a nap. eugh been drawing for over 20 years and I feel insecure that i'm not at the level I feel I *should* yet, especially since the way I grew up drawing was quite unorthodox (?)

ofc I shouldn't be envious of artists younger than me, as an elderly gen z or millennial you just just gotta let that shit happen, children have much more access to art now than ever before

trying to draw in procreate again, I messed with maximum speed distance whatever its called and I feel like I have actual control w my lines, or maybe its a me problem idk

these are all warm-ups its nice to use procreate for shiggles lol feels less intimidating, a lot faster. I use csp for more finished stuff and my work is a lot tighter in there since I have a lot of tools at my disposal, I just wish procreate had some of the core features its missing currently...im patiently waiting for the update...whenever its coming out

School of Rock but Dewey is really into weird industrial experimental metal instead of classic rock and shows the kids like Throbbing Gristle and Mr Bungle and shit and the battle of the bands is a disaster and they do arrest him at the end

ok in this 3rd attempt im somewhat learning a bit? tried drawing slightly bigger, used q-tip and finger method, scanner did not pick up a lot of the soft graphite smudge but whatever

lotta problems w 2022-2023-even 2024 art is that it became like....... visually inconsistent for a good bit. like, the bulk of it had this sort of, confusing composition and penmanship very disorganized very quick drawings.

I also drew very small back then possibly due to my poor depth perception and wearing skewed specs

drawings were likely rushed and sloppy due to traumatic shit that was happening online and irl at the time esp around feb, on v-day 2023 I had actually relapsed and I would continue harming myself periodically for abt 2 years to now.

ik art regression is like a brainrot term for someone simply "changing their art style" but I what happened w my art was not intentional at all, I really do think what had happened was very real, I cannot draw very well when im super depressed and chronic stress all that, my art suffered for it, im even looking at aug 2024 last year n im like, "this is really fucking bad dude"
