Terry Crews came out and admitted he had been sexually assulted by someone in the film industry, and is now being blacklisted. I have been a fan of his since Idiocracy, and will continue to support all of his work.

I really really wanted Japan to win and honestly, it’s so disheartening to see not even 1 Asian team moving to advanced stages…. I hope and pray that the day an Asian team wins this entire thing will come soon.
Japan you were amazing and as a fellow Asian, I’m so proud of you.

Trigger Warnings: Sexual Assault and Sexual Harasment
In this episode we tackle the tough topic of sexual assault and harrassment in the literary field. Looking at Junot Díaz’s work and the stories of WoC writers who have stepped forward to address Díaz’s problematic and misogynistic behavior, we discuss the ways in which the power dynamics in literary circles. These topics are tough and muddied and so we decided to delve into the ways ‘hurt people hurt people’, cultural and societal double standards, and how we begin to unravel systemic abuse. So this week we ask our listeners to take a moment to center and sit with these ideas before pressing play. If you have any comments or questions on this week’s episode please email us at [email protected]. We suggest saving your warm conchas y cafecitos for after the cast for some much needed dulzura.
