Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much. They were the last people you'd expect to be involved in anything strange or mysterious, because they just didn't hold with such nonsense.

TAGGING >:D
I always tag with:
name of character who said the quote
"HP Narration" if it's not a dialogue quote
name of character being mentioned
Book the quote is from (I use abbreviations: PS/SS, CoS, PoA, GoF, OotP, HBP, and DH)
Chapter number
Subject keyword (like Quidditch, Hogwarts, Horcruxes, etc)
So you can search through whatever you're looking for!
To keep from clogging the main tags, I'm adding CCD to some of them. For example every quote said by or about Draco Malfoy will be tagged "CCD Draco Malfoy".
[eventually insert links to tags here]

Welcome to my Harry Potter Sort-Of-Concordance!!

If you're not familiar with the term, a concordance is basically an alphabetical list of words/phrases found in a text or body of work, with citations for each instance where the word is used. They're commonly used for the Bible, for example, so you can find every individual verse where a word is mentioned. It's a great tool for research or study.
I had the idea to create one for Harry Potter when I first started writing HP fanfiction 20+ years ago, so I could quickly look up and fact check what canon said about certain characters, topics, settings etc. It started life as a massive handwritten list in a cheap spiral-bound notebook when I was in middle school, eventually evolved into a Word document, and now it's finally migrating to Tumblr! Tumblr's tagging system and quote post format are PERFECT for this!!
This isn't a true concordance anymore, as I decided ages ago I want more than just lists of page numbers. For one thing, the page number depends on which book edition I'm currently using. For another, I want to be able to read each quote or passage without having to flip through the physical books, which fully defeats the entire purpose of a concordance. But I've been calling it that in my head for 20 years and I don't think anyone else cares so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
To be quite honest, I'm making this for me, to help myself when I'm writing fanfiction. If you get something out of it or find it useful, then great! Welcome in, look around, use it as you like!! Fair warning, it is currently incomplete.
I don't know if this kind of disclaimer is needed anymore but old habits die screaming apparently. Just in case it needs to be said: all Harry Potter quotes were written by JK Rowling, I do not own anything you recognize here, I am not the copyright holder, I am not making any money from this, this is just a useful free tool for writers. Do not come at me. :)
