Toilet Bound Hanako Kun Manga spoilers

I heard Tumblr is the place to do this so here I go.

Have you ever noticed Kou and Mitsuba's relationship? Personally I ship them together. They have a bond that is strange. I do believe it is love but, in both the anime and the manga it it nothing romantic.

In the chapter where they go into the painting Kou decide then and there that he doesn't want to like in a faulty world. Of course, Kou still wants to be with Mitsuba. After fighting, Kou tells Mitsuba that instead of going back human, that he should just die. He would die so that he could be with Mitsuba, the friend he lost. Kou wanted to be able to understand him and be there for him.

Mitsuba is shocked. He would want to stay with Kou forever but that would be selfish of him. I don't have the pictures but soon after, Kou jumps. Mitsuba swoops down and stops him from falling to his death. As much as Mitsuba wants to have his friend with him, Mitsuba doesn't want Kou to risk his life.

Mitsuba is shaken up but Kou, Kou is dead serious about it.

I do understand that some people would die for they're best friend, I know I would. The question is, is it because of love for his friend or regret? Kou might have regreted not being with Mitsuba more often or even forgetting him. Between love and guilty conscience, it is a ship that I haven't looked this far into before.

On the Mitsuba side of the ship, Mitsuba uses Kou's outer appearance to make fun of him. Mitsuba likes to be with Kou and considers him a close friend.

On the Kou side, Kou wants to make up for forgetting him. Kou wants to be there for him.

It might be friendship, it might be love, at this point who knows. I do think its a really cute ship. My last question, would Kou had taken it as far as he did, if he didn't love Mitsuba? In a friendship way or romantic way?
