“ They’re worse than some epidemic. They’re takin’ more than lives after all. “
The detective growled under his breath. His hatred was hardly a secret: shown in loud boasts, hardly hidden merchandise, and more than a few clothes marked with splatters of thirium.
But the note had Gavin huffing.
“ Good idea if we were near a residential area. Maybe if he was homeless he would’ve been attacked where he’s been living - but there’s only factories and warehouses. If they were killed at home and dropped here, you’d need a car. Why not drive further if they’re already in the car? Chances are they were killed around here accidentally - he doesn’t look like a labourer anyway. Not that there’s many of those anyway. “
Connor nodded, a thought occurring to him. “Then perhaps he was a protester. This area as you say is industrial. Perhaps the victim wished to protest the wide scale introduction of androids into industry. He may have become violent and prompted an android to deviate.”
It wasn’t the best theory but it seemed to make sense. To him at least. He returned to look at the body, trying to see if there were any clues to support this latest idea.

Not that they looked very much alike, they also sounded alike and said the almost same thing. It was probably like Siamese Twins only that they weren’t actually conjoined body wise.
Since Hank seemed so uncooperative, Richard figured out that they might just start working on the cases at hand. Maybe their relationship would improve overtime. Social studies showed that time was a big factor in forging a connection to human beings. While some where very open to befriending an android, others needed a bit more encouragement.
“Is there a desk we could use to get the investigation started?” asked the blue eyes android. He sounded a little bit annoyed. Hanks defensive stance was irritating to him. Shouldn’t he be happy to have someone work with him?
Hank sighed, pointing to the desk opposite him. “No one’s using that one. Knock yourselves out.” He said before moving to at least start getting some work done. If his eyes were glued to the screen maybe it’d be a big fucking hint to the androids that he wasn’t up for communicating at the present time.
Connor looked at Richard and then at the desk. It only had one seat and one terminal and was definitely not designed for two. They would make do for now but they would require an upgrade at some point in the near future.
He moved to sit, pausing as he spotted another chair to the side of the room. He brought it over and placed it down so Richard could sit as well before taking his place in front of the computer.

“No no. You’re not getting off the hook like that kid.” Hank looks up from the shirts with a grin.
“We are here for you to pick out your clothing. Not me.” He sets down the shirt he’d been looking at and turns back to Connor.
“Come on, Con. Let’s look at some different styles. See what catches your eye.”
Connor nodded, understanding that this was meant for him. “Perhaps it may be easier if you were to choose items for me and I determine if they are something I would like or not?” He said, knowing that would at least create a much smaller sample to choose from. It would also take a lot of the pressure off him which as the least experienced in this area he would probably benefit from.

“Darn. But ya know you’re still stuck with me, right?” Rose smirked.
“Ya fed me. That means ya gotta keep me.” She laughed and looked back to Connor.
“Alright dude. We figured out the extra work stuff. But I still gotta figure out what ya like to do! You play games or like, do puzzles?” She thinks for a moment. “Garden? Cause like, I can’t cook with ya. That’ll end with Hanky needing a new kitchen.”
Hank sighed. “Yup, seems to be happening all the fucking time.” He said, looking to Connor, expression softening a little as he did.
Connor thought for a moment, wondering what he did like to do. “I like puzzles although they are often quite easy for me to complete. I enjoy reading and learning about humanity. I’m up for trying new things if you have any suggestions.”

That earned a brief, sweet laugh from Hannah. “Well, Elijah made all this possible,” she said, pride clear in her eyes. Her brother had changed the world and she was so grateful to be part of this. “None of us would be here if it weren’t for him.”
Connor nodded, not sure if she had understood the point he was attempting to make. He made a note to adapt how he asked that question in the future.
“Of course. And for that I am grateful.” He said, unsure if he understood gratitude or if he had just been programmed to know what it meant and when it should be applied.

“Aw, I promise not ta make ya into a Frankenstein monster.” She teases.
“And besides, I’m more curious in the robotic organ thing. Ya think by now we’d have synthetic organs for people who need transplants.” Man, there was so much for Rose to take in. And that was one of her greatest flaws. She wanted to look into everything. Wanted to help everyone while making it just seem like it’s her wanting to play around.
Repairing androids leading to repairing people? It wasn’t a far leap, but she was far from having a medical degree.
“Hey Con. Back me up. Hank could be the real Robocop in the house then. She kept the teasing up.
“Even that’s too far for me. When my organs give up that’s it. No need to stick around past that.” Hank said with a shake of his head. “Don’t wanna be switched off when my time comes.”
Connor smiled a little at Rose. “It’s a nice idea but it seems you’ve met your match.”

Hank looked it over with a soft grin and nodded.
“It looks good, kid. How does it feel? Think it would be comfortable?” He asked as he moved to a section with a few simple button up shirts. He picked up a dark blue one. It was plain and dressier than most of what he had. But wasn’t really a dress shirt.
“Maybe I should think about updating my wardrobe too. I still need my loud shirts. That’s just my style.” Hank chuckled.
“It’s a cotton blend, research suggests it’s comfortable.” He said, not entirely sure how to tell if something was or potentially could be comfortable. He hadn’t really experienced it and if he had he hadn’t known it at the time. “I like it though.” He added, hoping that’d help answer whatever questions Hank had.
“Do you need help choosing things?” Connor asked, knowing that would likely be much easier than looking for himself.

“Well, it doesn’t feel nice when people think you’re not capable of doing your job and think that the only reason of your achievements is another person,” she replied, with honesty, finding it strangely liberating to be speaking so freely with him. “I won’t ever deny that my brother gave me this opportunity, but the rest? That was me.”
Connor couldn’t imagine but he knew it must be upsetting so he nodded. “Well I’m sure you will be recognised for your achievements. Your brother wasn’t here when I was created and you were. Surely that should count for something?”

Hank chuckled and moved to look through the racks.
“Well, I choose by the colors I like and how the fabrics feel.” He shrugs and looks back to Connor.
“You just gotta have fun with it, Con. If something catches your eye try it on. Shit, we aren’t on a time frame. Relax and enjoy.” He wasn’t really sure how or why he picked out clothes. Hank just saw things and grabbed them. Fuck, everyone knew his style was shit. But he liked it.
“Just try not to pick all suits.” He joked.
Connor nodded, still staying in the same area but reaching for things that perhaps looked more comfortable than a suit. He finally found a jumper, dark grey and soft and he picked it up, showing it to Hank. “Does this work?” He asked. He hadn’t intended on asking so many questions but this seemed to be a much more difficult process than it needed to be.
In his mind, clothes shopping should involve presenting a series of requests and receiving said item, not walking around aimlessly picking up things that were fun.

Gavin stood beside Connor with his hands in his pockets, listening carefully to what the rookie had to say about the scene. He was genuinely curious to see if much had changed since he had gone through, and, he was still a detective. A good one at that. With how they found the guy on one of his active cases … this would likely be lugged on him too.
He nodded in agreement, and dropped into a crouch beside the body. All of it added up, and surely they’d learn more when the coroner arrived and eventually a full autopsy was done.
“ It’s always fuckin’ deviants lately. “
Gavin complained and shook his head softly. They rubbed him the wrong way even further than regular androids.
“ The wounds don’t look too big. Concealable weapon, no crazy shit like cleavers. So, if anyone interrupted it we could be lookin’ for another body, or who it was out for before this sucker got it. “
“It almost seems like some kind of epidemic.” Connor commented in an attempt to contribute. It felt right to do so but he wasn’t entirely sure of Detective Reed’s opinion of speculating about non-work issues while on a case.
Connor nodded then at the analysis but his brow furrowed. “Not to contradict you Detective but surely it makes sense that this was an attack at the victim’s home? Having the body placed near the bins like this might mean he’s the only victim of a surprise attack. Perhaps the deviant was attacked itself.” He looked to Detective Reed, deciding to back pedal a bit to cover his ass. “But of course we should have a look just in case there was another target.”

Constantly taking in and storing data like that? Rose was going to comment but then realized, was it any different than how humans are constantly taking in data from their own senses? Just cause she ain’t scanning with a scanner doesn’t mean her own body isn’t taking in info constantly. Instead she nodded to Connor in understanding. Yeah, his might be more detailed and high tech. But she got it.
Though Hank’s comment got her. She couldn’t tell if he was joking or not but it still sounded awesome.
“Yeah? Well if I develope more advanced cybernetic technology compatible with organic tissue ya bet I’m going to use it on you.” Rose smiled. “I’m growing rather fond of ya, Hanky.”
Hank laughed. “Over my dead fucking body.” He said. Yes he may have warmed to androids and Connor was pretty much his son but it didn’t mean he wanted to become one. “Sure I could help you find a willing guinea pig to go in my place.”
Connor watched the two of them interacting, entertained by their discussions.

“Will that matter?” Rose tilted her head curious.
“I mean, it’ll be confusing I guess. What with the different medical needs and stuff. But. I don’t know.” She shrugs.
“It’ll be a whole different world in 50 years. Man, can’t even imagine it.” With a grin Rose looked to Hank.
“I mean. A lot changed in your life time, yeah? Just imagine another!” Rose is pulled from her ramblings by Connor’s comment. Constantly scanning?
“Hey Con? Does the background scan ever get annoying? Or is it kinda like background noise to you now?”
“Guess not, probably just my age telling me it’s weird.” Hank said with a sigh and a shrug. “Won’t be around to see it so I shouldn’t really have an opinion on it. Hope you will though, can see you leading the way in when it comes to cyborg medicine.” He said, intending it as a joke but realising as he said it that it was a possibility.
Connor thought before responding. “No, it happens automatically as I look at things and the data is stored in my memory by default. I have known no different so I have nothing to compare it to.”

“Well I.. Huh. You got me there.” Rose crossed her arms and leaned back. Eyeing Connor.
“You’re right. There’s got to be other unique androids out there. And with modifications becoming a norm, it’s only a matter of time before facial modifications are everywhere.” Rose had been cocky. She smiled, glad he’d given her a reality check.
“Does your scan constantly go? Or do ya gotta specifically do it to see?”
“The lines between humans and androids are gonna get so fucking blurry now they’re being integrated properly. Fuck even Connor here might be more human than most in 50 odd years.” Hank said, not sure how happy he was about that.
Connor smiled a little. “I am constantly scanning, able to detect anomalies or changes in behaviour or speech however to gather more in depth information I must do a secondary scan.” He replied, happy to give as much information as she needed.

“I know that,” she replied with a small sigh. She knew that her ideas brought with them some problems that already were plaguing their society, but was that really enough to keep androids from being free? “But still, I think an android, even a free one, would require less space than a human. And the problem could be solved, of course. It just requires a bit of thinking.”
She closed her eyes, tapping on the desk with her fingers. “Well,” she began, hesitating a little bit. “No, not really. Many people here still think I only got this job because I’m related to the former CEO. They don’t care about my skills and abilities, no matter how hard I work to prove myself.”
Connor decided it was perhaps wise to concede so he nodded. “Of course.” He said simply, ending that train of conversation.
“Does that bother you?” He asked, trying to decipher the emotion she was displaying. He was registering it as irritation but it seemed to be deeper than that.

an-unlikely-duo‌:
Scanning the Lieutenants posture told Richard that the man wasn’t very cooperative either. Maybe they could coax him into working with them if they were nice to him and interested in his personality. Humans liked that.
So Richard tried a constructive approach . “It’s an honor for us to be working with you, Lieutenant. I hope we three will make a great team.” besides that, Hank should be happy to work with two androids, his chances of finishing his cases successful raised exponentially. At least that was what his probability calculations showed.
Hank simply sat, arms crossed across his chest. Why had Fowler insisted he put up with this shit. One android was enough but now there were two of them!? And why’d they have to make them look so fucking similar.
Connor watched him, deciding to try as well. Perhaps the unfamiliarity of Richard was the issue here. “In any case, I’d like you to know that I’m very happy to be working with you. I’m sure we’ll all make a great team.” He said, offering a smile as he knew that could be comforting to humans.
Hank just huffed a little but didn’t look up at them. Fucking androids.

“I don’t really think androids contribute to population issue: they have many less needs compared to humans. And even if they did, does that mean they don’t deserve to live freely?”
She then paused, thinking about her next answer. “No, no it wasn’t,” she confessed. “I hated it, at first. I hated how everyone would always see me as nothing more than Elijah’s sister. I … tried many jobs before CyberLife, but … I wasn’t happy. I wanted to work with androids.”
“An android requires limited space, one with free will would require accommodation.” Connor pointed out before listening to Hannah’s answer.
“And have people learned that you are independent from your brother?” He asked, wondering if that was why she had chosen to believe androids had the potential to be human, to be different.

Rose laughed when Hank pointed at Sumo. A big grin on her face.
“Good choice. He’s such a good boy.” Thinking over what Connor said, Rose nodded.
“Ya know. I got pretty good at memorizing faces. The different android models. So it helped when knowing what parts were needed if they couldn’t say. So even now when they don’t have their LED i recognize them.” She tapped the table in thought.
“The best.” Hank corrected, a little more forceful than he probably should have been.
Connor smiled. “Well, if you hadn’t met me before and I didn’t have this.” He tapped his led. “I doubt I’m the only one of a kind android out there.”
