Idk how everyone else is interpreting it but the concept of John killing every version of Arthur in the darkworld is actually driving me crazy. The idea that John spent so long in the darkworld, fell back on his old ways so hard, that his lingering resentment towards Arthur was multiplied tenfold?? Because I do think he hunted all those Arthur’s out of hatred. John sacrificed himself for Arthur and I think after all his time there, he started to regret that sacrifice. He lost some of his humanity, started to resent Arthur for making him care about something as insignificant as him, and because he cared so much it landed him back where he never wanted to go. I think he blamed Arthur for it, and Arthur was the only person he could take it out on.

But then again, Arthur’s love was all he could cling to in the darkworld wasn’t it? Could it have been what brought him back? Him killing Arthur over and over was not only a testament to his hate but his love too. I mean there’s a reason why he built his place in the darkworld out of Arthur’s bones. He’s never hated a human as much as he’s hated Arthur. But he’s never loved one this much either.

Anyways I’ve been thinking sooo much about Kayne and the concept of home. From what I know about the mythos, Nyarlathotep is a messenger of the Outer Gods. We know in malevolent that he travels around a lot, specifically to other realities. He literally touched the Graystone to be given the ability to move between the piano keys. He’s a messenger, that’s his job—his purpose if you will. So if you think about it, he’s never really had a proper home.

Now if you’re wondering why Kayne would possibly be yearning for the idea of home, think about it like this: Why does Kayne want to kill Azathoth? So he can remake the world in his image, right? He’s never liked the world as it is, and maybe part of it is attributed to the fact that he’s never found a place for himself in it. He wants to remake the world so it caters to him specifically, “piles of sinew, writhing across my canvas” and all that. Carnage is his entire thing, so in a way, he wants to make it his home.

Now consider this: Kayne has watched a lot of Arthur’s. He’s killed a lot of Arthur’s. Honestly, it’s easy to believe he spends most of his time around Arthur.

So don’t you think at some point he starts to associate Arthur with the idea of home?

I don’t think Kayne properly knows home like humans do, but I think he definitely finds a familiarity with Arthur that is akin to the familiarity of home. I mean doesn’t he tell Arthur all the time how alike they are?

So how much can he push it?

Well, he’s a shapeshifter. And, stay with me here, the name “Crawling Chaos” could very well be literal. So I like to imagine Kayne being a parasite. Or multiple parasites. A swarm of writhing and crawling insects !!! Think about it !!! Would he not take his chance to make Arthur into his home?? To burrow into his flesh and show him the purest form of his love?? To crawl inside his skin until they’re practically one?? And there’s something possessive about it too, another way for Kayne to call Arthur his own !!!!

To conclude, I just think that Kayne is horribly madly in love with Arthur Lester and it’s making both of them Worse <3

More details for my Libuza design!

I wanted to convey why humans usually interpret her as fairly young, so I went with the fact that she grew up on the dark side of her planet and gave her Big Nocturnal Animal eyes. Because Teta says her people don’t see very well regardless, she has antennae and a tail to function as other sensory organs. The gland she uses to detect vibrations is the crystal-esque thing in her forehead, and her hearing is also enhanced. The little black dots under her eyes are nostrils. I imagine her being about 4’6” or so, adding to why humans read her as young.

I also wanted most of her design to be based around circles, so the very rectangular looking implants from Kazi are distinctly an external intrusion. I’m also pretty pleased with the attempt at alien clothing design
