Pepper leaned in to kiss Tony’s cheek before they left their apartment for their trip to the park. She was so glad to hear Tony mention that this is the best kind of present, because spending time with him and their girls was pretty much her favorite thing to do.
As they made their way into the city, Pepper stayed close to Tony as they walked down to their favorite place to get coffee. Since the stroller was so big and they had the girls with them, Pepper offered to go in and get the coffee herself. It didn’t take her long to get a black coffee for Tony, a Flat White for herself, and she didn’t forget Emilia’s cake pop. When she exited the coffee shop, she grinned. “Em… guess what I got you?”
“Cake pop!” Emilia giggled and reached for the treat, smiling when her mom gave it to her. “Thank you!”
“You’re welcome, Em.” Pepper smiled and handed Tony his coffee. As the family continued their way to the park, they quickly stopped at the deli to pick up their lunch. “How’s Izzy doing?” Pepper peeked under the blanket and chuckled. “Oh, she’s sleeping. Guess all the excitement leading up to this outing just tired her out.”
Tony felt content as they walked to get some coffee. It was one of those normal moments in a normal day that he never thought he'd have or enjoy, but he did more than he could explain. When Pepper offered to get the coffee he nodded and moved the stroller over next to a bench.
"Mommy will be right back," he said assuring Em.
His daughter nodded and looked around. She would wave at people as they passed by. when someone was walking a dog she would excitedly point out the puppy. Tony would always smile and chat back to her. A quick check of Izzy assured him that the baby was fine and seemed to be getting sleepy.
Tony smiled when Pepper emerged. He thanked her for the coffee and took a long sip. Picking up lunch at the deli went well and they continued on to the park.
He chuckled when Pepper saw that Izzy was asleep."Well, she's had a busy day for her," he said. " If she decides to sleep through our time at the park it'll be okay. I'm sure Em will have enough energy for both of them."

Pepper was buckling Emilia into the stroller when she heard Tony’s question. She knew how their daughter was when it came to sugar, but having a little probably wouldn’t be a bad idea. “You know what might be even better?” She said, looking at him. “We can grab some coffee on the way and get one of those cake pops. They’re even smaller than a cupcake and should be perfect.”
She figured a cake pop would tide Emilia over until they had some cake later that night. Then it wouldn’t give her the insane sugar rush and they wouldn’t have to deal with a cranky toddler later on. “I think a cake pop will be just fine.”
“Cake pop!” Emilia cheered in her seat. The stroller wiggled some with the movement and little Izzy made a noise. Hearing that, Emilia stopped. “Sorry baby Izzy.”
Chuckling, Pepper made sure Izzy was comfortably strapped into the stroller before draping over one of her little blankets, just in case it was still chilly outside. The weather this time of year was always a little strange. One moment it was chilly, the next it was tank top and shorts weather. Grabbing her purse, Pepper leaned in to give her husband a quick kiss. “Let’s go.”
Tony listened to Pepper’s response and as always she came up with the perfect answer. “That’s brilliant, Pep,” he said. “Enough cake to be cake, but not too much. We wouldn’t want to overdose on cake." He didn’t actually think it was possible for him to do that, but the kids might.
Tony chuckled at Emilia’s response and her sweet apology. There had never been a doubt in his mind about where either of the girls got their caring natures from.
Tony smiled and took hold of the handles of the stroller. "First we get some food then it's fun time in the park," he said grinning. "Spending the day with my family is the best kind of present to get." He knew things would change as the girls got older so he felt it was important to enjoy this time as much as he could.

Pepper decided not to tell Tony that she actually hadn’t been in the mood for soup and sandwiches for lunch, because it would only make their lunch awkward. But his reasoning for why he chose this lunch was really sweet, so it was just fine. “That sounds like a nice plan,” she told him. “I’d love to make dinner with you later.” Leaning in, she gave him a quick kiss and looked at his loosened tie. “I’ll finish getting lunch together if you want to get changed into something more comfortable.”
She grabbed the bowls for portion out soup for each of them and set Emilia’s in the fridge to cool hers a little quicker, then cut the grilled cheese into little squares for her to eat. Once she had Emilia’s lunch together, Pepper went to finish hers and Tony’s. Getting the sandwiches onto the plates, she brought them to the table before getting Emilia. “Come on, Em. It’s lunchtime!”
Once Emilia was in her toddler seat and Pepper brought Izzy back into the kitchen, she sat down to have lunch with her family. When Tony was back in the room, she smiled. “I’m glad you had a productive day today, I bet that makes everything so much easier.” She said. “Izzy and I had a pretty good day. She finally got to nap, so I got to take a shower. We had some tummy time on the floor. And got to relax. So I think it was a productive day here too.”
Tony smiled when Pepper said it sounded like a good plan. He wasn't exactly the best when it came to cooking, but as usual with Pepper by his side he could do anything. Beyond that he actually enjoyed learning how to cook with her. It was one of his odd things that learning something outside of his usual areas of study was frustratingly difficult. Not knowing something and not being able to do something easily usually made him stubborn and petulant, but Pepper knew how to navigate that on some kind of instinctive level. So learning how to cook had become fun. "Good," he said. "Pick whatever you want. Let's really have some fun with it." He gave her a quick kiss before moving away. "I'll try to be quick, give me a yell if you need help."
Most of the time Em was pretty good about eating, but she sometimes had days where stopping to eat was the last thing she wanted to do. He finished taking his tie off before he reached the bedroom. Ed even though he had a huge collection of them wearing ties always felt very confining which was why he took them off as quickly as he could. Before Pepper moved in he would just toss his clothes wherever, now they were put in the hamper or in the place for things that needed to be dry cleaned. He decided to put on a comfortable pair of jeans and a plain shirt. Then he quickly checked for any messages. JARVIS knew that nights home with his family were only allowed to be interrupted by certain people.
Tony smiled when he saw Pepper had gotten the kids ready for lunch. "It really does," he said. He smiled and reached over to tickle Izzy. "That sounds like a really fun day. Want me to hold her while you eat?" It was always tricky to do anything when holding one of the kids. Em was more active than Izzy, but it still wasn't easy.

Pepper grinned when she heard Tony. Wrapping her arms around him, she agreed with him about the idea of them taking the vacation. It was going to be a really nice way for the four of them to relax and enjoy some family time before switching things up and having her go back to work. When he mentioned being able to do whatever they wanted with no schedule at all, she chuckled. “I think that’ll be a fun time. But there’s no way I’ll do the spinning tea cups three times in a row even if she wants too,” she teased and leaned in to give him a kiss.
Letting go of their embrace, Pepper went back to her suitcase and did one last check to make sure everything she wanted was there before adding Tony’s clothes. “You know what else I’m really excited for?” She said, looking at her husband. “I’m excited for Emilia’s reaction. Because she’s never seen her favorite princesses in person before, so I’m hoping it’ll be super special.”
She was excited that they could bring both of their daughters down. Even though Izzy wouldn’t probably remember much, Pepper still hoped Emilia would have the time of her life. It was going to be a special time. “Is everything situated for the journey down there?” Pepper asked. “I’m sure it is, but you know how I can be. Just want to make sure everything will be ready when we arrive there.”
Tony grinned before giving Pepper a kiss. He was so happy to be going on vacation with his family. "Okay, I suppose I can understand limiting how many times we ride the spinning tea cups in a row. The last thing we want is for anyone to make a mess," he said. It wouldn't exactly be the first time he'd overdone something and thrown up, but it wasn't the kind of thing that really needed to be repeated.
Tony smiled thinking of how Emilia would react seeing people in costumes being her favorite characters. "I agree that's going to be interesting. I love when she gets excited and starts jumping up and down. I'm sure we will have to take pictures with her and every princess she can find."
Tony double checked everything oh his phone. The plane ride was goingto be the easiest part, having their own plane had its perks. The hotel reservations had been confirmed and he had cash which was unusual for him, but he wanted it just in case. There was also a reservation for a vehicle just in case. " Looks like everything is all set," he said. "I just sent copies of all our reservations to your phone so you have it. Do you need anything else? I got some cash for emergencies. Did we make sure to pack the backup Lamby and Bunny? We don't want to be without those." He'd learned the hard way how inconsolable his kids could be without their favorite toys.

“You can peek into my suitcase, I’m not hiding anything,” Pepper looked at him. She was bringing a variety of sundresses, shorts, t-shirts, and anything that would keep her cool in the Florida heat, but she also remembered to pack a couple nice dresses just in case they decided to have a nice dinner. “I don’t think she’s too young for seafood, we’ll just have to give her a little at a time to make sure she’s not allergic.” She didn’t see an issue in it.
Closing up Tony’s suitcase, she looked at the girls’. “I made sure to have all of their outfits planned out so I knew I had enough, then there’s some extras just in case we have any accidents,” she told him. “All I have left to pack are the toiletries for us and then the girls’ toys and snacks for the plane ride.”
Turning to look at Tony again, she smiled. “Are you excited for the trip?”
Tony liked to tease a little when it came to certain things, it’s just how he was. It was tricky to keep the comments balanced so it didn’t sound like he was too far into the ‘only interested in the outside’ headspace or worse ‘not interested at all in the outside’. Neither was something he wanted her to think. “I suppose I can wait until you decide to put things on,” he said. The information about seafood was tucked away in his memory. He sometimes had worries about the kids developing food allergies only because he’d come across the wrong links when Em was sick once and scared himself. JARVIS had started blocking that kind of thing for Tony’s sanity. “Okay, I know several great places in Flordia that serve it and I’m sure the park will have something. I promise I won’t let Em have too many sweets though I make no such promises for myself.”
Tony nodded and was so glad that Pepper had such amazing organizational skills. He mostly relied on her and JARVIS for that kind of thing. Details were never his strong area unless it had to do with actually building something.
“I’m very excited,” he said giving her a smile. “I like the idea of family vacations. Just the four of us going somewhere to have a good time. No work involved. Just family. I think it’ll be fun. I’d really just like to do whatever we want. No schedule or anything at all. If Em wants to ride a ride three times in a row, I want her to have that chance.”

Looking at the time, Pepper knew Tony and Emilia would be home soon. So, even though tummy time didn’t last very long, she put Izzy back in her bouncer and put on a couple cartoons to keep the infant distracted while she finished getting lunch ready. JARVIS would alert her if there was anything wrong.
Back in the kitchen, Pepper made sure the soup was simmering on the stove while she got the sandwiches together. She occasionally peeked into the living room to make sure Izzy was okay, but Pepper was fine getting everything ready for lunch. It was really nice when Tony was able to work half a day, because then it gave her time to be with the girls, but also relax a little more. She was still trying to figure out what she wanted to do about going back to work, but having these moments at home with her family were the most important things to her right now.
While she was getting Emilia’s sandwich off the pan, she heard the door open and little footsteps running her way. To keep her daughter away from the hot stove, Pepper met her halfway. “How’s my little lamb?” She grinned, opening her arms for Emilia to run in them.
“Mommy!” Emilia giggled. “I missed you!”
Pepper chuckled and gave her daughter a big kiss. “I missed you too. Did you have a good day?” She scooped the little girl in her arms and gave her another hug and kiss before setting her back down. Watching Emilia run off, she chuckled.
When Tony walked into the room, Pepper smiled. “Hey honey. How was your day?” She asked, leaning in to give him a kiss. “Lunch is almost ready. I’m just finishing our sandwiches now.”
Tony watched Emilia run toward the kitchen with a smile. As soon as she started walking she had two speed: very slow so she could touch everything or running everywhere. He stopped briefly to give Izzy a quick kiss on the top of her head. She gave him a big smile and moved excitedly. “I’ll be back and so will big sis,” he said.
As he walked in toward the kitchen he had to move aside quickly as Em came running out. “Watch some cartoons with Izzy,” he said. “We’re going to have lunch soon.”
Emilia ran toward her sister. “Hi, baby Izzy, this is my favorite!” She sat down next to her sister’s bouncer and began to watch the cartoon.
As Tony walked into the kitchen he loosened his tie and unbuttoned the top button. It was the kind of thing he did as soon as he didn’t have to look professional for anyone. Though these days he was often walking home with Em so he didn’t manage it until he got home. Seeing Pepper he was struck by how amazing she looked, it was something he thought often. The feeling that closely followed was how amazing it was that she was his wife and they had a family together. He hoped that those feelings would never go away.
He kissed her back and gave her a soft smile. “My day was good, actually productive,” he said. He peeked around her to take a look at lunch. “I thought something quick for lunch would be nice then if you’re up for it we could try to make dinner together. I figured it would be easier to try that after we’ve both had a bit of a break. I’m keeping my fingers crossed that the girls will get decent naps this afternoon.”

Pepper was making faces at Izzy when she heard her phone go off. The baby was giggling up at her mother, giving her a gummy smile that melted Pepper’s heart. Looking at her phone, she smiled seeing Tony’s message. Of course he’d suggest something she wasn’t in the mood for, but it was only lunch time.
[Text: Tony] Soup and sandwiches it is. Thank you :)
[Text: Tony] Our day is going just fine. Izzy’s being a little cheese. How’s your day going? Only a couple hours left?
Taking her phone, she recorded a little video of Izzy - the baby was smiling and wiggling in her seat while Pepper made silly noises. She then sent the video to Tony.
[Text: Tony] Video message sent.
[Text: Tony] See, look at her smile :D
She really appreciated everything Tony was doing for her at the company. She knew this wasn’t his favorite part of it whatsoever - because that’s why he made her CEO, but she really appreciated him doing this for her right now. She had a feeling she’d be back to work soon enough.
Handing Izzy her toy bunny, Pepper went back to the fridge to get what she needed to start making their lunch. She decided on tomato soup, because she had a feeling Emilia would want a grilled cheese sandwich. Once she had the soup simmering on the stove, Pepper grabbed Izzy’s bouncer and brought the baby into the living room, where she decided to have some tummy time with her. “Daddy and Em will be home soon. Look at you, you’re getting so strong.” She said to the baby.
Tony continued to go through paperwork as he waited for Pepper’s response. He wanted something simple for lunch because he knew she’d have to do that by herself, he was hoping they could do something together for dinner. Cooking wasn’t something that came easy for him, but as always when he was working with Pepper he could do anything.
[Text: Peppercat] My day is going well. I am on track and will be home on time. Though I made need to ice my hand. I hate having to work with hard copies.
When the video popped up on his phone he smiled and watched it right away. One of the assistants came in to switch out paperwork. She wasn’t at all surprised to see him on his phone and watching a video of his daughter. It was the kind of thing he did all the time.
[Text: Peppercat] I think she’s got your smile. It’ll be easier to tell when she gets teeth.
Once he finished with the paperwork he started on his emails. This was one area where JARVIS was a huge lifesaver. He organized it and prioritized it for him. The simpler emails he could write and respond for Tony. Usually Tony just read them and sent them.
“Sir, as requested this is your alarm to let you know it’s time for you to get going in order to be home for lunch in time,” JARVIS said.
“Thanks, buddy,” he said getting up and buttoning his jacket. He walked out of his office. “I’m heading out, ladies. You know how to reach me if you need me.”
“Have a nice day, Mr. Stark. Tell Mrs. Stark we said hello,” Bambi said.
If it had just been the two of them Bambi probably would have used first names, but with the others around she was more formal. “Will do,” he said and waved as he left.
When he opened the door to her daycare, Emilia saw him right away and squealed “Daddy!” As she ran over to give him a hug. They let him know she’d been having a great day and she’d had a small snack instead of a full lunch. He thanked them and made his way home.
Emilia chatted away about her day as he carried her to the elevator. As always she had to press the button and giggled when she did it. Once he got to their door he put her down before he opened it. He knew she’d run in squealing so she could give her mother a hug.
“Honey, I’m home,” he said grinning as he opened the door.

Even though Izzy was pretty good at taking her morning nap, today the infant woke up fussing again. Pepper opened her eyes and rolled over in bed. She wondered if their daughter was going through a growth spurt, or if she just liked to be held. Once she was awake enough, she got out of bed to get the baby from her bassinet and rubbed her back. “What’s with the crying? Mommy’s right here,” she kissed her daughter’s temple and brought her back into bed with her.
Now that Izzy was just about five months old, she was becoming more aware of her surroundings. The baby quieted down once she was in her mother’s arms, giving Pepper a little gummy smile.
“Daddy and sissy left for a couple hours, so it’s just you and me kid,” Pepper chuckled and rested her back against the headrest. Moments like this were something she treasured, which is why she was so conflicted about when she wanted to go back to work. She felt incredibly lucky to have her partner step back into the seat of CEO so she could have this extended leave, but even with the reassurances from Tony, she didn’t want it to seem like a bad thing. Adjusting her shirt so she could nurse her daughter, Pepper stroked Izzy’s cheek. “You and your sister are the best thing that’s happened to us,” she told her.
While Izzy was eating, Pepper grabbed her phone to check up and see if she missed any messages. Once she caught up on reading her texts and her email, Pepper checked up on some of the news. There wasn’t anything super exciting, so she put her phone down and focused on the baby in her arms. After a long feed, both Izzy and Pepper had fallen back asleep.
After a better nap, Pepper showered and brushed her teeth. She had a quick snack to tide her over until lunch, which wasn’t too much longer. “Izzy… what should we have for lunch today?” She was in the mood to cook something, but she wasn’t sure what. There were the usual pastas, sandwiches, pizza, soup… but that didn’t sound appealing to her. She didn’t want to order in because she figured maybe they’d do that for dinner. Izzy giggled in her baby seat and Pepper chuckled. “Of course it all sounds good to you.” Grabbing her phone, she sent a quick text to Tony.
[Text: Baby Daddy] Honey… what do you want for lunch?
When Tony got to the office the assistants were ready with things for him to sign and approve while also prepared to get him ready for the meeting he was going to have. It wasn’t that he couldn’t manage the business, he could and had for a long time, it just wasn’t something he felt passionate about. The parts he enjoyed were the building and inventing parts, being on the cutting edge of science and technology. The rest of it was a means to an end to him. Pepper had always been better at the business side of their company and with her as CEO the company had flourished.
Tony didn’t want to push Pepper into returning before she was ready and he didn’t think there was anything wrong with her taking extra maternity leave time to be with their kids. Their kids were only this age once and he wanted her to enjoy everything as much as possible. The company was doing fine and they were managing well in her absence. Though Tony was sure it would have been doing far better with her managing it, but maybe he was biased.
The meeting went well and things were on track. It made him happy to be able to tell Pepper that all was well, the last thing he wanted to do was for her to come back to a mess. When that was finished he made some necessary phone calls and continued to fill out paperwork.
When his phone buzzed, he smiled as he picked it up seeing her message.
[Text: Peppercat] I’m thinking soup and sandwiches or maybe pasta. Just something quick and easy.
[Text: Peppercat] How is your day going? Has Izzy been behaving herself?

Seeing the contrast between their daughters, Pepper smiled. It was fun to see how Izzy was so calm and content compared to how Emilia was, but there was nothing wrong with that. “That’s kind of what I meant anyway,” she told Tony when she heard him. It was much safer for both of the girls to be in the stroller until they were actually in the park for a variety of reasons. She was just hoping Izzy would take a quick catnap while they headed to the park.
While Emilia was on the move and had already left the room, Pepper laughed with her daughter’s enthusiasm before looking at her husband. She leaned in to give him a quick kiss. “Hope you’re having an awesome birthday, honey,” she told him before tweaking Izzy’s nose, making the baby giggle. “Let’s get you into your stroller, hmm? Then we have to go to the deli to pick up our lunch, then off to the park we go.”
Heading out into the living room, Pepper went to get the stroller so they could strap the girls in. She remembered taking Emilia to the park when she was a little older than Izzy is now and it was always so much fun. “Come on Em, time to get strapped in,” Pepper looked at her daughter and laughed when Emilia ran over. “Silly goose, always on the go.”
“Mommy! Can we have cake at the picnic too?” Emilia asked.
“You’ll have to ask Daddy… it’s his birthday,” Pepper told her. “But we might have cake later too.”
“I’m having a wonderful birthday, honey,” Tony said giving Pepper a smile. Any day with his wife and his family was a wonderful day. Having them wake him up on his birthday and spend the day with him was even better.
Tony got up and followed behind Pepper and Emilia carrying Izzy. The baby looked a little tired and he figured once in the stroller she’d probably start taking a nap which was fine. They’d let her sleep as long as was able and just keep her shaded in the park. He didn’t doubt Emilia would have enough energy for both of them.
“Cake at a picnic?” Tony repeated with a gasp. “What a brilliant idea! Maybe we can get a little one at the deli or like a nice cupcake or muffin. Something small. Big cakes are not for picnics.”
As much as he wasn’t used to being reasonable when it came to his own food intake, he was careful when it came to his kids. Anything with sugar in it was kept to a minimum. Em tended to get hyper when she had it then when she crashed she was cranky and didn't sleep well. “You think a little bit with lunch would be okay?” he asked Pepper. “As long as whatever she got later was kept to a minimum too?”

“Okay, then we can take the scenic route home and I’ll be very satisfied,” Pepper smiled and leaned back in her seat. It had been a really nice night and she was glad they were able to get out of the house for a little while. Even though she loved being home with the girls, she was getting a little stir crazy while on leave.
“I’m pretty positive Isabella has a check up next week,” she looked at Tony. “If you want to come, you’re more than welcome too.” Pepper knew Tony had been pretty busy with the company, but she had no doubt he’d make time for their daughter. When their desserts came, Pepper grinned. “Oh yes, this is perfect. Thank you so much,” she thanked the waiter before grabbing a spoon to dig into it. “This is amazing.”
Tony always enjoyed the scenic route with Pepper. Even if all it meant was that they stretched out their time together it was always worth it. She looked happy being out and she seemed to have enjoyed their date night which was all that was important to him.
“I want to come,” he said. “Just want to see how she’s doing ad see what the doctor has to say about her. I have no doubt she’s fine and everything is going well, I just...well, you know how I am.” Tony dug into his dessert as soon as the waiter left. It was the best lava cake he’d had in a long time. “Oh my, you have to try this. It’s fantastic.”

Pepper grinned when Emilia answered before Tony did. Something about the look on Tony’s face cracked her up. Plus, hearing their daughter was so funny anyway. “That sounds like so much fun,” she chuckled and waved to Izzy, who let out a gummy grin. “Sounds like a good time. Mommy’s almost ready to go.”
“Okay!” Emilia grinned and went back to rolling the ball to Izzy.
Heading into the closet, Pepper picked out a comfortable outfit to wear to their picnic. She grabbed a light sweater and black yoga pants. It looked like it was a nice day outside but sometimes there was still a light breeze. Once she was dressed, she reemerged and smiled when the girls saw her. “Who’s ready for a fun day at the park?”
“Me! Me!” Emilia giggled and stood up when she heard her mom. “Can we have lots of snacks too?”
“Let me see what we can do,” Pepper chuckled and looked at their little girls. “Let’s get your shoes on while Daddy gets the stroller ready. I mean, we are walking to the park, right?” She looked at Tony.
Tony didn’t really mind that Emilia spoke first, it was just unexpected and hearing how happy she was it made him glad she spoke. Pepper still had to finish dressing so he had a few more minutes with his daughters. Emilia giggled when Tony kicked out Izzy’s leg to return the ball. “She’s good at that, isn’t she?”
“You’re silly, daddy,” Emilia said giggling.
As soon as Pepper emerged, Emilia was on the move. Izzy was far more chill. She just looked up at him and made a happy noise. He chuckled and stood up. “I think a walk will do us all good,” he said. “Except Izzy, she’s not at the walking stage yet.” He tapped Izzy’s nose which made her grin. “And Em doesn’t get to walk until we reach the park. It’s just better that way, she can enjoy the view from her stroller better.”

Once Tony took the baby, Pepper smiled when she heard Tony. “Yep, Mommy’s the silly one today,” she laughed and kissed him back. “All right, thank you.” She gave Emilia a quick hug before heading into the bathroom so she could get ready for the day.
When her mom went into the bathroom, Emilia grabbed her sister’s favorite toy and held it up. “Here baby Izzy, this is for you,” she waved it in front of her. The baby looked at her and smiled. She wasn’t giggling, but the exciting noises she made were enough for Emilia to start giggling.
Pepper could hear the girls from the bathroom and she smiled. The happy sounds coming from her daughters were the most amazing sounds in the world. She never imagined how much happiness the girls would bring to their lives, but it’s one of those things where she was so happy, nothing would change that.
“Daddy, does baby Izzy want to play?” Emilia asked, waving the toy up again. “When will baby Izzy play with me?” She let the baby take the toy giraffe and watched as Izzy shook it in her hand.
As soon as she was finished with her shower and her morning routine, Pepper reemerged from the bathroom and looked at her family. “What’s going on in here?” She chuckled seeing them play before going into the closet so she could grab an outfit for the day.
Tony sat down on the bed so Emilia could reach the baby better. It amused him that she referred to her as 'baby Izzy', but he also thought it was sweet.
Tony gave Emilia a smile. "She wants to play, but she's little so she can't play like you can yet," he said. "It'll take time. Right now she can do some things. See, she took the toy from you. She can't do much with it yet, but that's so much more than she could do a little while ago."
Emilia nodded seriously as she listened to him.
"Just wait until she starts crawling. That will be fun for both of you. You know how much fun you have when daddy chases after you, imagine baby Izzy chasing too," he said.
Emilia giggled loudly. "Can we play now?"
"I'll have to help her," he said.
"Okay!" Emilia said clapping.
Tony sat down on the floor. "Get your ball and we can push it back and forth," he said. It was a strange way to play. Izzy reclined in his lap and he would hold her little hands or feet to push the ball back to Emilia. Both girls seemed happy so it didn't matter to him.
Tony gave Pepper a smile when she emerged. He opened his mouth to answer her question, but Emilia beat him to it. "We're playing ball! Daddy is helping baby Izzy!"

Pepper chuckled when she heard about the email to the researchers in Germany. “You’re almost done with work, just think about that,” she told him and kissed his cheek again. “Me? I’m thinking about all the fun we’re going to have once we get to Florida.” It had been years since she had gone down to Florida for a vacation and even longer since she had been to Disney World. “I can take a look at your suitcase, make sure you’re not missing anything.”
Giving him a little squeeze before unwrapping her arms from around him. “Everything will work itself out,” she told him. “Plus, you’ve got a great team that will keep everything running while we’re gone. So don’t worry too much about it. Isn’t that what you tell me?”
Going back to the suitcases on their bed, she zipped up the girls’ suitcase before taking a quick look at Tony’s. It didn’t look like he was missing anything. “You have your swimsuit?” She looked at it and found it. “Everything looks like it’s here. You have socks and underwear?” She teased.
Tony grinned when Pepper said she was thinking about all the fun they were going to have. “I’m going to finish this email and be done with it for awhile,” he said. It was important to him to put work away when it was time for his family. “I would appreciate that. the last thing I want is to get there and find out I’ve forgotten something important.”
Tony chuckled and turned to watch her. “That’s what I tell you. I want to say that I hate it when you make me take my own advice, but I really don’t because it’s such an underhanded move that it makes me proud of you. So sneaky.”
He pointed when she asked about socks and underwear. “I remembered them,” he said. “Do I get to peak into your suitcase and see what kind of underwear you’re bringing? Or which swimsuit? You know I love your swimsuits. I love your cover ups. I hope you packed a nice dress in case we decide to go for a fancy dinner. Is Em too young for seafood?”
