What is CONTAINERTOPIA?
Containertopia is a deconstructed vaudevillian comedy about the ever-shrinking living spaces that New Yorkers submit themselves to. Our interdisciplinary performance includes original music and new arrangements of Weimar cabaret tunes along with carefully mapped projections to explore and expose the popular trends of the micro-apartment and the tiny living movement. The minuscule spaces offered as innovation in today’s housing market serve to highlight historic levels of income inequality as well as the global necessity for smaller impact living. What afforded to us is affordable?
Julia Frey and Sam Day Harmet are bringing CONTAINERTOPIA to the Jalopy Theater in Brooklyn April 28-30, 2017. Follow us on Tumblr as we create this new performance.
