As 18 years old, I have a lot of free time after graduating from high school. That is a great time, no more homework and no more school day. However, that significant time has not stayed for a long time. I started feeling bored and regret the time that I spend not to do anything. 
Onetime, I am using Youtube, I accidentally see a guy who is mixing some alcoholic. He was stirring and shaking and then put it in the beautiful glass and call that is Sangria, which is one kind of cocktail. At that time, I was suddenly thinking about studying how to make a cocktail. After doing some research, I know that bartender is the name used to call the people who are making all kinds of alcoholic drinks. 
Bartender - is a person who can mix some alcoholic drinks to have a great drink. The main task of the bartender is to create drinks from primary alcohol, such as wine, cocktails, beer, mocktail. With such a specific job, the bartender has knowledge of wines, how to choose and present ingredients to create an attractive product.

As mentioned above, the bartender’s job is to concoct customers with alcoholic drinks. Therefore, the bartender will usually work in the bars of the hotel or bar, pub.
Where is the Bartender attractive?
Anything has its difficulty, and so is the bartender. The bartender is not a pink dream nor as easy as you think. But this is a job with great potential for development. 
Mr. Bao, who is a bar manager of Léon Bar in Da Lat, shared with me that he has worked hard in more than 20 years to become a bar manager.  
As my experience, the bartender is a work that is comfortable, without restraint.  Especially with the environment like hotels, bars, pubs, the atmosphere more exciting and bustling. My shift will start at 7 pm and finish at around 1 am. This is also what attracts many young people.

Don't worry if you love this job and be a girl. A lot of bartenders are girls, not just boys! The average salary of bartenders quite high, from 5-7 million per month, even more. 
Especially if you have work for a long time and have many experiences, you can advance to other positions. Head bar, counter manager, drink supervisor are the titles you can strive to rise.
What does bartender need to be?
If there is only love, then you will not become a talented bartender. A skilled bartender requires the necessary skills. With the skills you have practiced, you will always create and produce delicious drinks.
First of all, want to be a bartender, you need to be meticulous and skillful. To make a perfect drink for customers, before that, we have to be happy with that drink. From the ripple-free cup, lemon slices thinly to the color, the taste of the glass must be accurate.
Not only that, the spirit of learning is essential for the bartender. Even if you are a professional bartender, don't forget to learn around. New knowledge will help you improve and improve your skills.

Besides the above techniques, soft skills are something that bartenders also need to have. Soft skills, like communication and sales, are a must. 
Every customer who comes to the counter will bring in different moods. Your task is to create a drink that suits them or their requirements. So how do you know? Surely to be observant when observing and communicating with customers, right?

5 mixing techniques that bartenders need to know
One night, I walked into the Urban Kitchen and Bar in District 1. I have a meet up with Mr. Red, who invited me to come to his bar. We had a drink made by each other and then sharing our experience. He listed the top 5 techniques that every bartender have to know:
1. Shacking

Shaking is the primary mixing technique that every bartender needs to know. This is the most fundamental technique in mixing drinks. This shaking action will help the materials blend. At the same time, it also reduces the alcohol content in alcohol and cools drinks.
When shaking, hold the jar with two hands and move the shaker in a specific trajectory. For those who have already mastered it, they can keep the bottle with one hand.
The order in which this operation is performed is also worth noting. Pour the ingredients into the shaker in turn in the rule: cheap first, expensive later. Such pouring method will help you save the ingredient when you have poured wrong at the beginning. After that, add ice and shake for about 10 seconds. When shaking, you can incorporate new movements to increase the appeal. Note, when shaking, the movements must be strong and decisive.
2.  Stirring

If you think of stirring here like when you stir tea, regular coffee is wrong. 
The bartender's stirring technique will be more "class". With this technique, the bartender must have patience. 
Stirring is usually used when mixing cocktails or drinks with the main ingredient being alcohol. If shaking helps reduce alcohol content, stirring will help emphasize the flavor of the glass.
When stirring, pay attention to make the bar spoon stirring to the bottom of the glass. If the spoon is at 12 o'clock, use the middle finger to move to 6 o'clock, then use the little finger to push up at 12 o'clock. Just repeat and stir continuously like that clockwise until the cold glass stops. 
This is how to maintain the taste of the drink. A little note that when stirring in the bottle, when pouring the glass, block out the ice to avoid diluting.
3. Building

In dispensing, "building" is the most straightforward technique. You just need to put ice cubes in a glass and pour other ingredients vertically 90 degrees. Then gently stir the ingredients and serve the customer. 
Although this technique is easy, you also need to practice. Pay attention to pouring stars so that the ingredients do not spill out and form a professional bartender. 
A professional bartender will perform each technique so that it is very artistic and beautiful.
4. Layering

When starting a career, many people think that layering is a challenging technique. Because you have to pour wine into layers so that their taste and color are not mixed together. It looks like it is not easy to do, but it is straightforward to do.  
Based on the sweetness and specific gravity of each wine, you can complete this technique well. Pour the wine in the order of lightweight, light sweet. Each type of alcohol with a higher specific gravity will be below. And according to that, the light type of liquor will stay at the top. Slowly pour the wine into a metal spoon so that the lighter wine component flows gradually onto the surface of the previously poured floor. Want to do this, surely the bartenders must know about the wine already, right!
5. Blending

Blending is a technique that is used a lot when mixing unsweetened fruits. A typical fruit is pears, apples, bananas, etc. With this technique, give the fruit and ice to the blender first. However, during the implementation process, please note the following.
First, with fruit, you have to cut it and then add it in the millstone. With ice, it is recommended to grind and crush before adding. When starting the machine, turn on the device only in slow mode and then gradually increase it. Grind until the ingredients are puree and stop. Next, put the remaining ingredients in the machine and turn on at medium speed for about 5 seconds. After completing these steps, pour out the cup carefully.
3 wrong think about the bartender career
1. The bartender must perform beautifully blended movements
Performing techniques are one of the top skills that any Bartender wishes to achieve. However, to get this, it takes a long time to learn and practice. 
Not all employers require Bartender staff to master this skill. The performances are beautiful blending movements such as shaker dancing, bottle flipping (Flair Bartending), juggling. This is just one of the essential skills that help distinguish Bartender's capabilities.

However, if you want to advance to higher positions, try to possess this skill.
2. Girls should not learn Bartender

Many people believe that Bartender's job is only for men. Because of the nature of work requires toughness, high pressure, always making shifts, including not specific shifts, etc. 
However, the fact that women have a lot of points suitable for the profession. Because Bartender not only requires health, knowledge of materials, formulas, methods of dispensing, mixing skills, performance techniques, but also need of passion, meticulousness, sophistication, and ingenuity in trimming decoration, communicating, having a spirit of learning, creative ability, etc.
