If anybody runs a arts/crafts/any kind of shop that they post about on their tumblr, please send me a message (see below)

Heya,

Loads of tags - all kinda shots in the dark but still.  This is a crumby blog (look at the picture) even worse (kinda new) site but I told my best friend never speak to me again unless I finish up 2 programs i been working on by the end of the week.

SO!  I’m using tumblr API for one of them 

and the point is a program that finds tumblr blogs that run their own shops online, and it has to filter out blogs that are just affiliated with shops, advertising for larger companies, or spamming.  

I haven’t had reallly any trouble finding tumblrs with etsy shops, BUT it’s been hard finding people who have ebay shops, maybe people who sell on amazon.

Also, there’s prolly plenty of platforms for small online shops i don’t really know about, but a lot of those I realized were not genuine, they were just sorta just obfuscating the spamming.  If you do run one of those shops on your own though, it would be a lot of help

please lmk if you have a blog where you promote YOUR OWN (and i’ll figure out if not) shop, so I can take a look at it and see how the program will check and verify stuff.  

i’ve been on tumblr since 2011 and its been up and down, a LOT down for most of that time, but imo the API is way way way wide open so like the damage is done... at least maybe use it for something helpful for people on the site for once instead of spam/porno bots.  Maybe in the future this project would turn into some kind of affiliation thing, but right now it’s mostly just because I’m working on spam filters (so I first started making a program to Avoid blogs that linked to shops) but then i realized a lot of them were still genuine, so lmk.  please.

tumblr itself puts something called viglink in its redirects (to certain sites), so tumblrs makes money when you promote your own shops, and like so far working on this program has been pretty fun, and I just want to include other stores besides etsy bc I don’t wanna just be like... you know just promoting one online merchant platform.  wouldn’t necessarily be a “bot” account.  Would maybe automatically output to a sub-blog.  Would not use this kind of mess of tags like on this post (bc that’s malicious bot practice)
