100% museum completion: uncozying my cozy game by being a semi-organized freak

i'm usually a very chill gamer for cozy games, i like to enjoy games at my own pace and take everything in slowly. however, i've got an itch.

right now i've still got a lot to do but seeing that 100% for the flora is doing something to me. i can feel my brain chemistry shifting.

it might not be very pretty but these are my to-do lists for all of the sets. i have no clue how long it took me to make this but it has made it a lot easier to keep track of. might add pictures and flavor text purely for the aesthetics because i work best when things are pretty.

each page has notes on location, season, time, weather, etc. for each item.

to make things a little more simple for day-to-day mistria chores though, i keep simplified versions in my notes app based on locations as quick references. the untitled one is for requests only but for the mines specifically i have a lot of collecting for the museum to do so it has a slightly more detailed list as well.

right now though, that's where i'm at. this was a long post but my updates will be much shorter rest assured lol. if y'all want more details on how i made my notion page or a lil walkthrough notion 101 lmk.

anyway!! wish me luck!! i'm locking in to work on getting my lil museum items now!! o7

imagine a feature like Elsie's gossip but with mistria lore from eiland... like if the farmer took artifacts to him he could info dump about their importance and history. part of what I love so much about him is the lore and world building we get from his heart events, it would be so cool to get more in some way outside of those as well.

Everything he tells me is so charming ???? Plus he gives us world building lore !! I wish there was an option to ask him random questions about Mistria’s history

after seeing the 8 heart scenes and the dating mechanics and events... who is y'all's fave? I'm curious to see if anybody has been swayed one way or another

maybe it's the people pleaser tendencies talking but I am way too nervous to try to date multiple romanceables at once 😭 I think it's really cool the way that they each give different items during dates and when seeing each other in town but the thought of potentially having to break any of their hearts once the marriage update drops and u can only pick one.... sick to my stomach actually

maybe I'll make multiple save files or just wait until that update is out and see if there's any events related to having multiple partners but for now I'm too scared lmao

SPOILER ALERT

So it was Caldarus’s birthday and i was researching what he liked when i noticed something kinda interesting

Apparently, the only gift he hates is the unknown dragon statuette. In game, the description of this item implies that it isnt a statue of Caldarus.

To add on, he himself claims that he doesn’t know why he hates the item. This does make sense due to his apparent amnesia.

My theory is that the civilization that used to worship Caldarus is the same civilization that worshipped this unknown dragon. There is a statuette of Caldarus, and the statuettes seem to be heavily similar in style.

On how this happened, I have two ideas. The first is that the unknown dragon sealed Caldarus in the mines in order to be worshipped instead and gain more power. Worship seems to give power Caldarus, so why not another being? This theory is actually quite is flimsy, anyone couldve sealed him away. The other option i find more interesting and more plausible.

To start off, Caldarus seems to based of the word caldera. A caldera is what happens when a volcano erupts and collapses in on itself. This would imply that Calderus had created a major destructive event and was then sealed himself. However, I think someone else sealed Caldarus away after he weakened himself.

The dragonsworn armor is quite interesting in the way it has dragon in its name. It’s obviously old, and depicted as legendary. Its found in Mistria, the place where a dragon named Caldarus is sealed. A piece of the set is found in the western ruins where there is supposedly a statue of the dragon priestess.

I believe that whoever wore the dragonsworn armor was the one that sealed Caldarus away. Of Caldarus had “erupted” there wouldve been mass destruction and the people would no longer see him as benevolent. The set of armor used to seal away such destruction surely would have been seen as legendary and worth immortalizing in stone.

In my theory, whoever sealed Caldarus away and wore the dragonsworn armor are either the dragon priestess or a follower of the unknown dragon.

Both options relies heavily on the name of the dragonsworn armor. It is called the dragonsworn armor and I believe that it is implying that the owner was “sworn”, that is, taking an oath, to a dragon.

The first one is easily explained, the priestess is located at every seal in the mines and as stated before, a piece of the armor is hidden at the western ruins, the same area a statue of hers is. Her making an oath to Caldarus would’ve been normal. Caldarus clearly isnt malevolent, so her sealing Caldarus away could be seen as helping him, since I doubt Caldarus wanted to cause harm.

The second option implies that the dragon sworn to isnt Caldarus, but the unknown dragon. The rest is obvious, they sealed him away after he “collapsed” on himself.

To add on about the unknown dragon, I’m pretty sure Caldarus knew them before being sealed. His dialogue implies that since being sealed, he had no contact with the outside world, and since he can recognize the unknown dragon just by seeing a statuette of them, he must have known them well. Well enough to hate them while having amnesia at the least.

To summarize, I believe that Caldarus lost control, caused great harm, and was heavily weakened by himself in some sort of way at the end. Someone wearing the Dragonsworn armor sealed Caldarus away in the mines. The empire that once worshipped him started worshipping another dragon that Caldarus was aware about and hated before being sealed.

Anyways, thanks for listening to my tedtalk that i made up in an ungodly hour of the night that has terrible grammar(probably spelling too) in it. I just started playing the game again after the update and i’m at lvl 70 mines as of now. I don’t have much information due to the fact that i don’t have much friendship with most villagers other than eiland and some others so I couldve missed some important info. Maybe i’ll add onto this when i actually finish more of the game.

animal festival coming!!

okay with the newest teaser for the big update, we got a look at the new festival! this teaser truly gagged me, it was not what I was expecting at ALL and not in a bad way.

eating my words: it's in winter

first thing that I noticed is that it's in winter which... technically I think I owe a lot of y'all $10 now T-T . I really thought it was gonna be a fall festival next since the first update was for summer but I'm not in any way mad about it lol. I do think it's interesting that the animal festival is in winter, to me I feel like that would be more of a spring/summer or maybe fall. winter just seems to cold for the babies with all the snow but that's not a complaint just an observation y'know. the good thing about it being in winter is that I can keep playing on my save file now, I had been waiting so that I didn't play through all of fall but the festival is in winter so it doesn't matter now lol

one thing I do think is interesting with it being in winter is that it isn't in any way related to any of the big winter holidays. I also noticed it with the spring and summer festivals, we haven't been getting any that relate to religious holidays. in stardew we have the egg festival and even though it isn't called Easter, it's Easter. you search for hidden eggs, that's Easter but without the Christian traditions and story. we also have the feast of the winter star which is, again, just non-Christian Christmas with gift giving and feasts. I think avoiding religious holidays is a good move for keeping the player base open and keeping the world building of mistria separate from our world. I am interested in their approach of not adapting the holidays to be non-religious but simply scrapping them in favor of other concepts. I am a little sad that the winter festival isn't related to the warmth and giving nature of the holiday season but that's not something that necessarily needs to be added, especially not in a town where that is the general vibe throughout the seasons. it does make me wonder if the fall festival will be similar to Halloween in any regards or if they will take it in a different route to avoid pre established holidays.

and ohhhhh my god those little plushies are just the cutest thing I've ever seen!! I'm excited to see if they are buyable from one of the booths in town or if it is part of the prize for winning the contest

competition: mistria's next top animal

having a competition is such a fun concept for a town festival! there are two categories it seems; large animals and small animals. I think it would be fun if there were specific categories to submit for like best products or best dressed.

I wonder what the qualifications are for winning the competition. for the spring festival, you need 50+ breath of springs to beat Celine and win first. for a competition like this I'm assuming the factors will be heart levels and potentially tier level. it would be cool if there was an added mechanic to like train for the competition but I don't think that will be added. most likely it will be heart levels.

I also hope that we get a visual for the competition itself like if it's a race or a little cutscene of the judges looking at all the animal contestants. I just think that would be so cute and would add a lot into the immersion of it.

anyway that's just some ramblings about what I'm thinking about after seeing that teaser, if y'all noticed anything that i missed lmk!! I'm so excited to see how this festival will work!
