Genuinely rlly enjoying the videos the voice actors watching mystreet- i've been binging them the last few days and its like. A good way for me to get reacquainted with lore i forgot but have been too busy/tired to rewatch on my own

I HATE how Jess writes villainous women, especially in Mystreet. With villainous men it seems like they have some semblance of a reason to do what they do but when it comes to villains who are women they’re…so one dimensional??? And the men are allowed to do villainous things outside of trying to break up relationships but it seems the women literally only exist to try to get with men Aph and her friends are interested in. Michi and Ivy could’ve been wonderfully complex characters but instead they’re reduced to getting in the way of ships for the most part

AND season 4, 5, and 6- with it in mind that Aaron is aromantic- should have been about more than Aphmau and Aaron: i love the idea of Aaron being so desperate to save this wonderful family that he has found from the danger that is his legacy: there's that fear of losing everyone to the thing that has ruined him in the past, and that fear that he really is just something that can hurt- but then being reassured by all these people that no, he is more than that. He is so much more than that to them. And he harbors such love towards all of these people that saved him back then that he tears himself apart to save all of them in return now...

I think Aph and Aaron had a long period of time where they didn't text following college; Aaron left his family and started living on his own with zero life skills and fell into that "its my 20s and I have not recovered from my childhood trauma" depression era, where the weight of his legacy is worse than its been, he's truly alone for the first time, and he doesn't know what he's doing. He was raised in a rich environment where he was told he was dangerous and had to isolate; outside of his family's resources, he doesn't know what he's doing, only that he just had to get away from them. And the slow-building burnout since childhood finally crashes down around him

I think it took a while but he did eventually reach back out to Aph- probably just a simple texted "Hey" because he's awkward, but it's enough; they start texting again and its good. It's really good. He's still gruff and awkward but beneath the current state he's in, Aph sees the funny, well-humored guy she remembers. He's just... also in a slump right now, one she hasn't seen from him before, but this is her friend, one of her closest, and she isn't going to abandon him over something like that

So, when she moves, she starts making the active effort to see him. To show up and talk with him, try to bug him into looking halfway presentable, to bug him into trying to go on runs with her and her dog in the morning. Then she starts pestering him into talking with some of her friends, some of the guys she knows- and they're jealous for reasons Aaron vaguely remembers from high school, but they're also lively in a way that makes him feel uncomfortable, but... not in a bad way

He starts to open up a little. These people make him laugh, piss him off sometimes, make him think- but add some energy back to his environment that he has been craving. Add some socializing that he needed. And, as time goes on, he actually feels... wanted. And alive. And not feared. Enough that when they invite him to go on vacation with all of them, well, he finds that he doesn't mind the idea of being in such a crowded place. He... He trusts these people. These weird, loud, loving people that are slowly becoming what a family should have been, to him- and they're starting to see him as family too
