please help me afford thyroid surgery

Hi everyone, I am a trans man from the global south, humbly seeking mutual aid to help with an insurmountable cost to cover a thyroidectomy. If you are with any disposable income, even a dollar can go a very long way. Thank you so much.

I have three jobs, but all three are very unstable. My work at publishing only pays once and under a clause where I will not make a single cent if I get let go.

My mother is unable to move independently due to nerve and brain injury from sepsis. My father has chronic heart condition and kidney failure, and my sister is autistic with a very low frustration threshold. Am the only one who works. I am not able to get the help I need without this community.

Hello everyone. I'm absolutely terrified to open up about this, but I am having surgery on my thyroid to remove a goiter that has become very large / given me problems eating and breathing in general. My ocd is going crazy and catastrophizing;, I have been neglecting my health for five years until I experienced some symptoms that terrified me. My dr. Advised me that I will need two types of surgeons, one an ENT and one a thoracic surgeon. I am going to make a formal fundraiser very soon, but I was informed by my Dr. That the overall cost of this surgery (plus recovery) will be around 700,000 pesos- almost 13,000 usd. That is. My wages of three whole years. I am from the global south, in the philippines, and my wages are far smaller compared to my peers in the global north. My insurance is trying to cover around 40,000-80,000 pesos, I am unsure yet. Right now, I am unable to work all three of my jobs because I needed to do a ton of tests and resting, my new meds making me extremely drowsy as I was also diagnosed with type II diabetes and hypertension (?). I still am the only person in my family who can work- my mother is completely unable to move independently due to nerve damage from sepsis, she is legally blind and a full time wheelchair user. my father is very very immunocompromised due to heart disease and kidney failure, and my younger sister is autistic, with a low frustration threshold. Since Early April, I have had no income as I was in and out of the hospital; thanks to everyone's generous donations for my teeth that I am now allocating for this surgery instead, insurance, and my lovely friend Mango's large donation, I have been able to eat well, and cover about 12%-15% of my upcoming surgery's fund. Am trying to build up more breathing room for my gofundme, as it is common practice for philippine hospitals to prevent patients from leaving without having paid in full. I am humbly begging for everyone to please help me, Because I have not been working and will be unable to work for a couple of weeks. this is the most terrifying thing I have ever gone through, and I have been ignoring it for the past 5 years ♡ if you are blessed with disposable income and a generous heart, please send it my way! Heya guys. Sorry for posting this for the billionth time. But maybe if you guys would like to give my posts about patreon a boost it would mean the world to me. I know I post this a lot and I don't take any help I receive for granted. I've only been able to make two new drawings since February. Bc every day I have been working almost 9 hours. I'm sick nearly every other week, my lymph nodes are swollen n I've been feeling incredibly depressed. I am from the global south, in the philippines, government help is near nonexistent. I am the sole caretaker of three disabled people. My mom can not do any housework, she is a full time wheelchair user, she needs care 24/7, insulin, adult diapers and kidneys that are under threat of failing if we don't watch her health, my dad has a chronic heart condition and my sister is autistic with a very low frustration threshold. Both my parents are diabetic, and I am the only person in my family who can work. I currently have three jobs, one in publishing, but I have a morality clause which means the publishing house can take back every single penny I make if I or the author fail to meet certain expectations. Anyway.. I have been working nonstop, my scoliosis is untreated and extremely painful, n for the past few four days I have been rationing a single can of spam and a few potatoes. My father was martyred by Israel on 10 October 2023 after sacrificing his care in hospital so the injured children could take priority. Today would have been his 60th birthday. He was always selfless, kind, and giving for others. My father gave up everything for me to be able to have a better life, because that is what he always dreamed for me and my sister. The world suffered a great loss when he died, and my heart is always with him and every Palestinian who has lost someone.

In his honour and memory, I would love for anyone who is able to do so to consider donating to The Palestine Children’s Relief Fund.

The PCRF is an amazing organisation that does so much for those in Gaza right now, including helping provide food, water and medicine. You can donate any amount you are able to- there is no minimum! My father would have given his very last cent if he saw the way Palestine was continuing to suffer after over 100 days with this limited aid, so I know celebrating him by helping others is the least he would have wanted.

If you feel comfortable sending me proof of the amount of your donation, I will match it as a donation at the end of February.
