Chapter 3: Semi-Sweet Reunion
Chapter 4: Turn the Car Around
Chapter 5: The Acorn
Chapter 6: Plan B
Chapter 7: The Eternal Metro
Chapter 8: Max and the End of the World
Chapter 9: The Void

I'm curious! What was your least favorite part about season 4 of Umbrella Academy?
Leave a comment or tag me with a response, as short or as long as you like!
I'm working on an Umbrella Academy AU that diverts right after Alison pushes the button at the end of season 3. 4 pages into a google doc already, but I have some really cool ideas. I just want to make sure I do it right and so I need a bit of time to figure out what I should or should not do for it, as well as planning the entire thing. Then I can start writing.

Radiorose Week Day 7: Falling Together
Wow, I can't believe it's day 7 already. I had so much fun writing these and just building this universe. I hope you enjoyed seeing it develop too! Thanks for tuning in!
He kept to the shadows until the man stumbled a little too close to the woods. Alastor swooped out and grabbed him, quickly binding his hands with rope. It wasn't difficult, he had one too many drinks after all. Alastor led him deep into the woods and then, when no one could hear him, fired a shot and killed him.
Alastor had been watching this man for a while. He had started following him as he left the speakeasy. Alastor had seen him slap that woman and it reminded him of his dad and mom. He was going to kill him, the world would be better off without him anyways.
Then a woman released a quick gasp.
Alastor quickly turned and saw a tall woman with full eyes, a long dress, and a sunhat looking at the dead man on the ground. Sighing he cocked the revolver again and turned towards her, it really was a shame what he was going to have to do.
"Hm, do you want him, or can I have him?" A smile appeared on her face as she walked closer to the body. Alastor looked confused and lowered his gun. "What do you mean?"
The woman licked her lips and said, "His muscles look tasty, I'll take care of the body if you don't want to." Alastor cocked his head. "Darling, are you a cannibal?"
"Already calling me darling, hmm?" The woman laughed, "The name's Rosie, and yours?" "Alastor." "Alastor dear, are you the one who keeps leaving corpses out in these woods?"
Alastor blinked, "Yes, that would be me." "Ah! Well it truly is a pleasure to meet you then. Before, I found the occasional corpse you left, and I'm quite glad you left them. I always felt guilty putting down my meals."
"So you're why I haven't been caught and no-one has found any bodies yet? I must say thank you, even if I don't quite agree with your disposal method." Alastor had a bit of a disgusted looking on his face as Rosie knelt close and started to calculate the yield she would get.
"Perhaps you'll come around to it later. I do believe we could work out a bit of an arrangement too." Rosie stood up and dusted her hands off. "You continue your hunting, let me know where to find them, and I'll dispose of them. What do you say dear?"
Alastor stuck a hand out and Rosie shook it. "Deal."
It was a couple years later. They had to move towns a couple times and find new hunting grounds, but they had only been here a couple weeks, they had about 2 months or so before they would have to skip town again.
Rosie was enjoying a meal when Al rushed in the door. Al glanced at her plate before quickly looking away, he had tried it once, but it made him very sick. There was a hint of panic on his face and so Rosie asked, "What's wrong dear?"
"I was trying to take out another target, when gunshots rang out and almost hit me. I ran, but the person survived, they know where we live. The police will be here sooner rather than later." Alastor was slightly worried. "It might be in your best interest to skip town, I'd hate to drag you down in my mistake."
Rosie sighed and hid her panic, "It's alright, we will deal with this and I'll just have leftovers while we skip town again." Rosie knew this was a big deal and wasn't sure if Al would make it by himself.
Al nodded and went to the backroom where they stored extra bullets and he reloaded his revolver. He didn't truly realize how big of a deal this was.
A couple hours later, Rosie looked out the window and chief and his deputy trying to sneak their ways up to the house. She whisper yelled, "Alastor! They're here, prepare for a scrap."
Alastor quickly ran up and hid by the backdoor. They both stood there for 5 minutes before all of a sudden-
Both doors were slammed open and the two police officers entered the building. Rosie got the drop on the chief and their struggle began. The back door hit Alastor and he dropped his gun as the deputy saw him.
BLAM!
The deputy quickly kicked the gun away and charged Alastor. He slammed into the wall and he responded by punching the deputy a couple times in the side. The fight continued.
Meanwhile, Rosie was kicking the chief's butt. She kicked him to the floor and grabbed her cleaver, slowly walking up to him with a smile on her face. She swung at him a couple times, before finally managing to hit him in the shoulder. She pulled it out and prepared to deal a finishing blow when-
Rosie, hearing the gun shot. looked over and charged the deputy. He grabbed a decoration off the table and bashed her in the head with it. Two parts were at the perfect distance apart to hit both of her eyes. She was instantly blinded but kept swinging anyways. The deputy cocked the gun again and shot her to the right of her heart. She slowly bled to death as the deputy made sure the chief would live.
The deputy brought Alastor to the floor and quickly ran for the gun. Alastor grabbed his ankle and brought him to the ground. He held on with all his strength, but he was still overpowered by the deputy. The deputy grabbed the gun and-
BOOM!
Shot Alastor point blank between his eyes.
Alastor had blinked, one moment he was fighting the deputy and the next he was here in... well, wherever here was. He was in the middle of an open field with blood red grass. The sky was gross smoky red and the sun has rings circling it. He only had a moment to look around when Rosie materialized beside him.
Or at least, he thought it was Rosie. She looked different. Her wide eyes were now fully black and almost soulless, her skin had become a gray tint, and her canines had grown. He held a hand out to help her up when he saw his own arm. It was dark gray and... furry?
He quickly pulled back his arm and Rosie just sat up, rubbing her eyes. She was content not standing yet. "Rosie look at me, describe me, what do I look like?"
Rosie stared at Alastor and her eyes widened. "Dear.... you have antlers... um, your hair is red, you have massive ears on the top of your head, and... to put it simply, you look like a deer."
Alastor became dizzy and sat on the ground. He looked around and saw the sign, 'Welcome to Hell.' He turned to Rosie and said, "Rosie look, we're in Hell..."
Rosie simply tilted her head and shrugged, she knew she was going there anyways. Alastor, on the other hand, was in complete disarray.
"Rosie... this is all my fault, if I was more careful, if I had beaten the deputy, I- I- I-" Alastor started rambling, a filter suddenly starting to layer on his voice. Rosie stopped him, "Alastor, I would have left if I didn't want to die. I expected it to happen, but I wanted to try and help you anyways."
"Rosie... I'm so so sorry." Alastor started crying, he didn't want this to happen. He just sat there while tears streamed down his face. Rosie was stunned, she didn't realize Alastor could cry.
She pulled Alastor close and he cried on her shoulder. He wouldn't let anything like this happen again, he would be more careful, more deliberate, stronger. He would become the most powerful demon in Hell and no-one, no-one, would get the better of him again. If they did, maybe then he truly deserved to die.
Author's Note:
Yup, this was late. I got tired last night and fell asleep before I finished. Oops.
@radioroseweek
This one alone, went through so many revisions and so many different plans, it's ridiculous! But I got it done! I'm glad I started working on all of these early, I would not have made it if I wrote each the night before. In good news, I got a custom desk from IKEA! I've been moving (so I'm quite busy lol) and now I finally have a desk I can use an office chair for! (Instead of a stool and a kids table I used to use lol (horribly uncomfortable, do not recommend))

Radiorose Week Day 6: Turning a Wrong Alley Right
[Radiorose Week Day 6 Bonus/The Pride Party and Distance]
[3/8]
"Rosie, I'm not going on a date." Al stood, crossing his arms. "Not since Vox called our last, 'hangout,' that."
Rosie rolled her eyes and responded, "This isn't going to be sprung up like a surprise, you will know going in. Well, technically it's a blind date, I don't even know who it is, but still! You know it's happening. Plus, a demon of your stature and charm should have a partner!"
"I have you Rosie, doesn't that count?" Al asked seriously.
Rosie grabbed his arm and started pulling him towards her sewing machine. "We're business partners, that doesn't count." She took Al's coat off his back and sat down at the machine.
"Rosie, I still don't think I need to do this. I'm fine by myself, really."
Rosie was started repairing Al's jacket, "Look, can you go on just this one, for me? Call it an intel mission so you understand my problems with my husbands, hmm?" She held up his now repared jacket.
Static filled the air but Al finally said, "Fine," and grabbed his jacket, putting it on. "Where is it going to be at anyways?"
Al and Rosie stood outside a bowling alley.
"I changed my mind. I'm not doing this." Al stared at the semi-broken sign that was blinking inconsistently.
"Too late!" Rosie squealed, pushing him in.
They went through the double doors and Rosie got Al bowling shoes and rented a lane. Al just stood crossing his arms as Rosie did this, the speakers' music was interrupted by flashes of static.
Rosie handed Al the shoes. "Put these on. And yes, it's a weird rule. I know."
"Rosie, I have hooves. My shoes are custom to fit them." He took out one of his hooves and showed the molded insert that was made for his shoe. "And I'm not taking the insert out of my shoe, it's such a pain to put back in."
Rosie put a hand on her hip. "Al, you are the Radio Demon, are you really telling me you won't even-"
"That's right, I won't, even. Especially not for this doomed 'date.'" Al crossed his arms and sat down at the table beside the lane, grouchy.
Rosie groaned and put the shoes on the table. "I'm leaving these here, if you get caught, put them on." She said sternly before seeing a person walking straight towards the table. Her face lit up and she quickly turned to Al. She leant down and started whispering.
"Okay, they're here. Play nice, try to enjoy yourself, and I'm going to get out of here." She smiled a cheeky grin before turning around and quickly running at a 90 degree angle away from the date.
Al's gaze followed Rosie before seeing someone starting to walk closer and closer to his table. No, this couldn't be. Fate wouldn't... This had to be a cruel prank.
A slightly moss and mushroom covered girl in hippie attire approached the table and sat down in the spinning chair across from Al's.
"Heya! The name's Sky, I hear you're Al?" She held up a hand for a high five.
"My name is Alastor, but yes. Hello." Al grabbed her hand and forced a handshake. "It's a pleasure to meet you, quite a pleasure." He forced a smile.
Sky tilted her head a bit and muttered, "Okay..."
They took a moment to do some basic introductions when the intercom came on.
"Tonight only, you don't have to wear bowling shoes on the lanes!"
She looked at the lanes and stood up, "So, you ready to bowl? Or I guess more accurately, you ready to lose?" She smiled full of un-earned confidence as she changed back into her normal shoes.
Al squinted, he was excited to show his power to crush Sky, maybe he would have a little fun. He stood up and walked over to the lane and smiled. "I wouldn't be so confident, I am the Radio Demon, the most powerful demon in all of Hell." He threw the ball down the lane and it almost instantly went into the gutter. He threw his second ball and only got one pin.
"Huh, everyone has to be bad at something!" She squeezed his shoulder, laughed, and bowled a strike. Al was no longer excited.
The rest of the game played out and the score ended with a 267 : Sky to a 38 : Alastor. They sat back down at the table and Sky started asking some questions.
"So Al-" "Alastor" "-How long have you been in Hell?" Sky rested her hand on his.
Al pulled his hand back, "I died in the 1930's and I've spent my entire time here in Hell gaining power since."
"Hmm, ok." Sky said disinterested. "Y'know, I'm going to go to Heaven any day now? It's a clerical error I'm here." She said with an aura of superiority.
Al turned his head, slightly intrigued by what she was saying.
"Yeah, I followed what Zach said. All 50 of us died together and so we should all be going to Heaven any day now. I guess they have to do all the paperwork for all of us members individually first, before they send us all up together." Sky gave a smug smile.
Al sighed, she was a lost cause. "So this was fun, shall we call this a night?"
"Oh Al... I didn't think you'd ask that!" Sky's face filled with a smile. "We can go back to my place."
Al blinked, confused, and Sky linked her arm with his and started dragging him with towards the exit.
Rosie quickly ran away from the soon to start date scene. She rounded a corner and stopped, deciding to look over at Al and Sky.
"Aw... they'd make a cute couple. They match each other!" Rosie said to herself.
She was a little sad to see Al on a date with someone else, but he hadn't been responding to her advances at all so she assumed he just wasn't interested.
She walked over to the shoe rental counter and waited for an employee. "What can I help you with?"
"Hey can you let that guy off the hook about not wearing the proper shoes?" She pointed up at Al.
"No Ma'am." "Come on, it's just one person." "I'm sorry Ma'am. It's policy." "I promise you, this place will have bigger problems if you try and force him to." "Look, lady-"
Rosie bared her teeth and asked, "You do realize I'm the overlord of Cannibal Town right?"
The attendant calmly reached over and announced over the speakers, "Tonight only, you don't have to wear bowling shoes on the lanes!"
Rosie kept her teeth bared, but smiled before walking away.
She found a seat where she could watch the two of them bowl. She knew she was supposed to go, but what could it hurt?
Eventually Al got destroyed in bowling and Rosie made a mental note to bring it up later to poke fun at him. She watched as Al continued to be distant from Sky and that's when she realized.
Al's never had a crush on anyone. Or at least he never mentioned one. He'd never responded to her advances, but maybe that was just because he didn't know. He always asked that Rosie, 'kept those activities to yourself.' when talking about her husbands and her after dates. Rosie finally realized.
"Oh my god, Al is aroace!" Rosie said to herself. She laughed for a moment, a little sour she tried so hard for nothing, but quickly getting over it.
She was contempt to just let this fall apart and apologize to Al later. She was about to stand up and leave when she saw Sky leading Al to the exit.
Al had a very confused look on his face but Rosie could tell what was going on, this really would not be good. She had to stop it.
She speed walked to Al and Sky and said, "There you are deer! I was wondering where you went."
Al turned his head at her and Sky stopped in her tracks. "Do you know him?"
"Do I know him!?" Rosie overexaggerated a gasp, "He's my partner!"
Alastor blinked and Sky instantly let go and spun around to face him. She sputtered, "Wow, you didn't tell me you had a girlfriend-" "Partner" "-How dare you! My commune would never stand for this!" Sky stormed out of the bowling alley. Rosie and Al watched her as she left.
"She does realize whatever 'religion' she followed is probably false, right? I mean she's literally in Hell..." Al spun around to face Rosie. "And what was that about Rosie?"
"Let's just say, I saved you a whole lot of headache." Rosie glanced away. "Also, I'm sorry Al, I should never have forced you to do this." Rosie put a hand on his shoulder.
"Well, I already knew this night would be shot, I'm just going to go home back to my tower." Al sighed and waited for Rosie to take her hand off before he started walking away.
Rosie thought for a moment, "Wait, Al?" Al turned around. Rosie gave a cheesy smile and asked, "Would you like to hangout with me, on this 'date?'" She stuck out a hand.
Al rolled his eyes and glared at Rosie. "Oh come on, redeem the night?" Rosie asked.
Al massaged his brow but put his hand in Rosie's anyways. "Fine." Rosie noticed a hint of a smile creeping up his face.
They both walked up to the bowling attendant. "Another game please."
"Sorry, policy states only one game per group per-" They both bared their teeth and static filled the air. "Lane 6"
Neither of them were very good at bowling but that didn't matter.
It was the 8th set and Rosie had a determined look on her face. She had perfect form on the run up and right when she was about to release the ball: her non-bowling shoes slipped on the floor and the ball flew over into lane 7.
Al caught Rosie before she could hit the ground too hard and they both watched the ball roll, and roll, and roll, and get a perfect strike.
"No way... Strike!" They both busted out into laughter and after it finally died down, Al said, "Thank you Rosie, perhaps this night isn't all bad."
They finished their game but didn't even check the final scores, it wasn't important. They went over to the attached restaurant and tried to order chocolate covered fingers... then venison... before settling for mediocre pizza.
"This is absolutely atrocious." Al said wiping the grease off his mouth with a napkin after taking a bite.
"Surely it isn't that-" Rosie took a bite and instantly spit it back onto the plate. "Nope never mind, that's horrible..." They both laughed as Rosie threw it away.
Al looked over at Rosie and Rosie saw his smile slightly falter. "Rosie..."
"What's going on, Al?" Rosie rested a hand on his and tilted her head.
"In a couple weeks, I'm going to have to go."
Rosie's face dropped, "For how long?"
Alastor opened his mouth to say indefinitely, but what came out was, "2 months, or so."
"It could be worse..." Rosie gave a half smile and squeezed Al's hand. "We'll have to do something before you leave then!" She said, regaining enthusiasm.
"Nothing big." "No promises!"
Author's Note:
So the first day I was supposed to work on this, I spilled some water in my computer and had to let it airdry for 24 hours before I could use it again (I probably shouldn't use it as a drinks stand anymore), and the second day I got distracted playing Hexceed... (GUYS THE TILES SPIN NOW, THEY SPIN!!! (yes I'm just now starting year 1, don't sue me.)) I was so excited to write this one too lmao, but I did at least write it on the second day.

Radiorose Week Day 6 BONUS: The Pride Party and Distance
[Radiorose Week Day 6/Turning A Wrong Alley Right]
Rosie opened the door, Al quickly stepped in and started pacing. "Al, what's wrong?"
Alastor stopped for a moment to look Rosie in the eye before pacing again. His stitched smile was as close to a frown as it could be. "Charlie is insistent I participate in this, 'pride party,' today at the hotel. It's going to be crowded and I'm going to likely be bored out of my mind.... Rosie, will you come with me?" Alastor asked, still annoyed he was being forced to go.
Rosie sighed and grabbed Al's hands to get him to stop pacing. "You're going to run a hole into my floors at this rate, and you're going to pay for a replacement." She joked before turning serious, "I do think this would be a good experience for you, but I understand your hesitancy. I will go with you deer."
Al sighed. "Thank you Rosie."
Rosie dressed up a little nicer and came back downstairs and offered her arm to Al. They quickly linked arms and started their walk to the hotel. As they got close they saw a huge pride banner that had been hung from the roof while Al was gone. Al sighed, he was already sick of this month.
Rosie elbowed him lightly, "come on! It'll be fun, I promise."
2 hours and hitting the mandated limit of 2 drinks later, and minimal fun had been had. The most fun he'd had was when Lucifer had accidentally set the kitchen on fire making "pride-ffles" (pride waffles).
Lucifer looked so defeated and the waffels ended up looking like a goth pride flag. Charlie, of course, thanked her dad anyways before he headed up to his room.
Al sat on a seat at the edge of the circle of everyone who were talking and laughing. He sighed, Rosie was in the middle of it all having a blast.
"Y'know, this might be the gayest party I've ever been to." Angel Dust said, getting a laugh from Husk, Rosie, Cherry, and Vaggie.
"Oh, so he gets to say it?" Alastor asked, crossing his arms. The entire room went silent as Angel and Cherry tried to stiffle a laugh. Charlie was slightly mortified and Rosie quickly came over and rested her hand on his. "Deer, when you said it you used it technically as an insult, this was a statement of fact and it's also okay because... well, he is gay."
Al sighed, they had already had this conversation before. "Ah... fine. You're right... I'm sorry Angel for disrespecting you and the other gays-" "queer people" "-when I used gay a couple weeks ago." Angel and Cherry started laughing their heads off.
"Oh no worries Al, we forgive ya." Angel turned to Charlie. "Speaking of my gayness, since you're hosting this pride party Charlie... Do ya know what everyone's sexualality is?"
Charlie took a moment to think, "Well, you're gay, Husk is Pan, I'm bi, Vaggie is lesbian, Cherry you're...?" "Eh, dunno yet, I just fuck who I wanna" "Well, um, okay... Nifty is straight, I think. Al is aroace, and Rosie, you're bi right?"
No one said a word as they just stared at Charlie before all turning to Al. "I'm what now?" Charlie turned red, embarrassed and turned to Rosie mouthing, 'so sorry!' Rosie responded with a sigh and a wave of her hand.
"Wait, the tall strawberry twink over there is aroace? I did not see that coming." Angel said. "Always thought he'd make a good movie star."
"Can someone please enlighten me what this 'aroace' is? And why you are so certain I'm it?" Rosie bit her lip, annoyed, "Al, aroace is short for aromantic asexual. Basically, you aren't romantically or sexualy attracted to anyone. It's part of the lgbt-"
"Wait, so I'm a gay?!" Rosie rubbed her forehead, she was too tired for this crap. "That's why I insisted you come Al... you're one of us, we couldn't leave you out." "You have a lot to learn deer. Starting with the fact that not everyone on the spectrum is gay! The proper term is queer."
"So wait, are you saying that I'm not the only one who's felt this way before? Interesting." Al stumbled up and proclaimed, "In that case, I am indeed aroace. I'm a ga- queer too."
"Sit down deer." Rosie grabbed Al's hand at sat him back down.
The rest of the party went great. Al ended up joining in more and by the end of the night he ended up having a great time.
Al didn't respond.
"Al did you hear me?" He zoned back in and turned to Rosie. "Sorry darling, I must've zoned out."
Al had been doing this more and more often recently, Rosie wasn't sure why. He seemed more distant than ever. "Look Al, you've been doing that more and more recently, is everything okay?"
Al shrugged, "Everything's marvelous."
"Mhmm... that's not true. You've been... distant recently. I'm worried." Rosie stepped closer and tilted her head.
Al took a step back. "It's nothing. I'm just... confused. That's all."
"Confused? About what?" Rosie respected Al's boundary but it worried her more.
Al didn't respond.
"What's going on in those frequencies of yours up there?" Rosie pointed at his forehead and pushed the topic a tad more.
Al finally decided to open up a little and said "I'm confused about us. We've been friends for ages, but we don't act like normal friends."
"What do you mean? Give me an example." Rosie thought she knew where Al was going with this, but wanted to make sure.
"Think of your other friendships and partnerships." Al started. "Think of you act with them. You'd never go on a walk with your arms linked with any of them, would you? Nor would you pick them up and move them around like you do me. What's... what's different about our friendship? Perhaps it isn't right."
"You're right. I wouldn't do that with anyone else. But with you, it's different." Rosie sighed, she didn't know how to explain this to Al. "It doesn't mean this is wrong. Our friendship is just different, we've been friends for... forever. Even before... y'know." She glanced to the side, Al didn't like talking about it.
Al didn't immediately respond, he was lost in thought. "I just don't understand my feelings about it all, darling. They're odd..."
Rosie looked at Al and turned her head. She thought for a moment before saying, "Now I'm not saying anything about anything... but, there is something called a QPR." Al looked up and started paying attention. "It's a sort of friendship that many people in the aroace community end up being a part of."
"Rosie, I thought you said you wouldn't hide stuff about my sexualality anymore." Al squinted and turned his head slightly.
Rosie took a deep breath and told Al, "I have taught you most things about being queer and aroace Al, it's just I haven't taught you about QPRs yet. QPR stands for queer platonic relationship and, like I said, many aroace people end up having one. Now it's not necessary, or anything, just an option. Simplest way to describe what it is, is a friendship that functions similarly to a relationship, except there are no romantic feelings involved."
Al didn't say anything but seemed a little on edge. He waited for Rosie to continue.
"It's more nuanced, of course. It usually happens when two very close friends agree to it." Rosie bit her tongue, hoping Al would finally pick up on a hint.
Alastor's eyes squinted and he suddenly became a little more open to hearing about it. "What sort of things do two people in one do? Is it really everything a normal relationship does?"
Rosie had a spark of hope, but she continued steadily. "Well it's all up to the two people in it, they can do as much ou as little as they agree on. It's very different and open compared to a normal relationship."
Al didn't say anything but thought for a moment before looking back at Rosie. "Sounds interesting. I'd have to think about if that's something I'd ever want to be in."
Rosie nodded, "Of course, there's never a rush. You have a whole afterlife ahead of you after all."
Rosie and Al both nodded with a mutual understanding and they started to gossip about something else. Al did still zone out from time to time throughout the rest of the night, but Rosie didn't mind. He was deep in thought about himself and what he wanted for the future.
Author's Note
I was this close to writing them becoming a qpr in a 3rd section. 🤏 THIS CLOSE. But, as I was rereading everything else I wrote for this week, it wasn't the right time. It felt quite rushed. I even had already written quite a lot of it, but it felt super off. They were characterized mostly right, but it seemed wrong. There must've been too much that happened off camera (writing? What do I call it lol?) and it didn't feel right to rush it. I'd have to do more to lead up to it.
This was originally called 6b, but I think, seeing how I didn't make them official, it being a bonus story is better. I also think, no promises, I will come back to this AU sooner rather than later. (Calling this an AU because no way is Al throwing garlic bread at Rosie canon.) If I do come back, I'm definitely figuring out how to earn making them official.
In terms of how I feel about writing this one? I love the pride party and Al actually learning he's aroace. Going into this one, I knew 2 things. 1. Charlie accidentally let it slip to Al, and 2. Angel caused it to happen. I do see Al as, not necessarily homophonic, but just ignorant to the proper terms. Luckily he's got a Rosie to teach him. Glad to finally finish though, I spent maybe a 3rd of the time working on all these fanfics combined on the two today alone (I'm so tired. I started working on all these fics for the week two weeks before the week began, and finished this one on day 4... and I still have to do day 7).

Radiorose Week Day 5: Care and Healing
[7/8]
Rosie was on the edge of her seat.
She had the TV on for visual, but had her radio on so she could hear everything that was happening quicker.
Al was battling Adam, the first human.
And he was winning.
Rosie heard Al mock Adam who responded with, "Radio's fucking dead!" and at the same time, on the slightly behind tv, watched as Al threw Adam into a sign, who then flew into the air and-
The radio had cut. She couldn't hear anything from it anymore. She quickly unmuted the tv and watched as Adam broke Al's microphone and-
"Oh my god..." Rosie saw Al get hit by the angelic axe.
Rosie stood up, grabbed her hat, and ran out the door. She ran as fast as she could towards the hotel.
As she got closer she saw a massive beam of holy light fire from the sky and she gasped as the entire hotel crumbled to the ground. She ran faster.
As she finally got close to the hotel, Alastor was nowhere to be seen. She glanced around for a moment before trying to see if he went to his radio tower.
And as she got close, she saw Alastor starting to walk towards his radio tower. He was singing.
She hid in the dark and followed him until he stopped. She would process everything she just heard later, but she ran towards Al as she saw him collapse onto the ground of his tower.
Rosie started to lean his back up when she realized he had passed out from the wound. With the help of his shadow, she carried him all the way back to the emporium and dropped him onto the couch. She ran upstairs to her bathroom and grabbed her medical supplies.
She ran back to Al and took off his jacket and shirt, the wound was bad. She sterilized a needle from her kit with some rubbing alcohol and treaded the green string that she kept from months ago. She slowly and methodically started to stitch up his gash.
By the time she had finished she was practically out of his magical string. She wrapped him up with some gauze and let him rest on the couch. She sat down beside him on the floor and put her back up to the couch.
All the running and carrying finally set and as the adrenaline passed, she passed out too.
She slept for 2 hours before waking up and checking on Al. He was alive and breathing, but it would be a while before he would be in tip top shape again.
Confident Al wouldn't die over night, she went back to sleep in the chair beside him.
The next morning Rosie was in the kitchen eating a quick breakfast when she heard Al start to stir. She ran into the living room and saw Al slowly leaning up on the couch.
"Where... where am I?" Al said with a horse voice. He was too tired to put on his filter.
"You're in the emporium deer. You took quite a beating and you're lucky I-" Rosie started.
Al interrupted, "I didn't need you to come help me. I would've been fine"
Rosie laughed and leaned down to check and change his dressing.
Alastor stopped her and said, "Rosie stop, I'm fine."
Rosie looked him dead in the eyes, "Wait, you're serious? Al, you almost died! You would be dead if I didn't come carry you all the way here!"
"I would've been fine. I didn't need this Rosie." "You were passed out on the floor and bleeding, you would've died." "I would've been fine! I'm the Radio Demon." "That doesn't change the fact that you were bleeding to death."
"If I was going to die then I should've. It should've been Adam who was on death's door." Alastor said completely seriously.
Rosie looked him in the eyes, "Alastor, I care about you. I wasn't just going to let you die."
"Rosie, if I wasn't strong enough to survive that, then I won't be strong-" Alastor started,
"No, Al, I'm not letting you die. Period." "You shouldn't have come." "What, did you expect me not to care? Would you of not done the same for me? Do you not care about me the same way-"
Al interrupted, "No, I don't care Rosie, I-"
"You what?" Rosie cut him off.
"You didn't let me finish. I don't-" Al tried to finish what he was saying.
"No no no, tell me you care about me, or tell me I'm your closest friend. Tell me how you care." Alastor stayed silent. He was conflicted. "Huh, I guess I took it wrong when you cried on my shoulder all those years ago. I guess I took it wrong when you didn't change the song almost 8 years ago. I guess I took it wrong when you sent your shadow to protect me every day. I guess, I took it wrong, when you came to me, weak and fragile, after your 7 year absence. I guess I got it wrong... assuming you cared about me."
Rosie closes her eyes, clenched her fist and said, "I don't think so, I just think you don't want to admit it."
Al looked away from Rosie and tried to stand up and walk away. He got 5 steps before falling back to the floor. Rosie instantly rushed to his side and tried to help him.
"No Rosie, stop. I don't need your help." Alastor pushed Rosie away. Even through his stitched smile, Rosie could tell he was in a lot of pain.
"Why won't you let me help? Don't you understand I'm just trying to help? I have no ulterior motives. I just want to help my friend." Rosie kept her hand out but didn't get closer.
"I am the Radio Demon!" Static shot through the air. "I don't need anyone's help! I have to be strong enough to walk this off by myself!" Alastor kept trying to pull himself to his feet, using the side of the couch as a brace.
Rosie grabbed his hand and pulled him up, not letting go after he was on his feet. "Alastor, you are strong, the strongest demon in Hell even. But you don't have to keep everyone at arms length to be that. The Radio Demon can have friends. Just let me help and care about you. Ok?"
"Rosie, I can't, I-" "No Alastor. You can. You think you need to be all alone to achieve your master plan, but you don't. You can have support, you can have a friend in your corner." Rosie stared intensely into his eyes.
Al didn't say a word, but he didn't argue as Rosie lied him back down on the couch.
"Just rest, okay?" Rosie held his hand for a moment before letting go. She smiled and walked towards another seat.
Alastor fell back asleep within 5 minutes and slept another 4 hours.
Rosie turned the sign on the emporium, she didn't want anyone coming in and seeing Al in this state, she knew how mad he'd be. Rosie finished her breakfast and washed the dishes. While she was washing she thought, 'Does Al really not care about me? I hope he's lying. That would really hurt otherwise. I mean, it still does sting a bit...'
When Al woke back up he looked down at the gauze and saw he had bled through. "Rosie! Can you- um. Can you come change by bandaging please?" He did not want to ask for help, yet he reluctantly still did.
Rosie came over and started to change his dressings, making sure to be methodical and careful throughout the whole thing. "Rosie, I would like to apologize." Rosie glanced up at Al, who winced as she started wrapping a new bandage. "You cut me off earlier and it seemed like I didn't care about you. That's not true." Rosie listened to the so far mediocre apology.
"I do care about you Rosie... I care about you a lot. ." Al glanced away as he spoke, "I just have an act I have to keep up, but, I will be a better friend." He paused, almost as if there was more he considered saying but didn't. He looked back at Rosie and his smile turned genuine, she could tell.
"Thank you for apologizing, I forgive you." Rosie gave a half smile and finished with Al's bandage. She stood up, dusted off her hands and smiled. "Hopefully you won't bleed through this one, and you can go back to being, "The Radio Demon," soon." She laughed.
Alastor stayed with Rosie another couple weeks to let his wound heal before returning for the re-opening of the hotel. His wound wasn't fully healed, but it was much better than when Adam had axe-ed him. He still had to fix his microphone though...
Author's Note:
God I loved writing this one! It was so much fun and this sets up tomorrow's! It took me a solid minute to review and adjust dialogue, but I think it was worth it! Almost done with this week you guys!

Radiorose Week Day 4: Smiles
Before we dive into this story, I would like to give a warning about the minor presence of blood and self-harm. It's not graphically described (also 0 images), however it does cover the reactions of a character and is not just brushed over. I do hope you stick around anyhow, but if not, enjoy what others have made for Day 4 of Radiorose Week 2024! There truly is some amazing stuff being created this week!
[5/8]
You're never fully dressed without a smile.
Rosie was getting dressed into pajamas after Alastor had left. It had been a long day. She had just prepared her husband for a meal when she went for a walk with Alastor. She was excited to finally get some rest.
She thought about that day. Alastor seemed a little distant and he still wasn't responding to her advances. Maybe he was just clueless? As glad as she was that Alastor had never hit on her, she was now wishing he would.
Thinking about it, Alastor really did seem oddly distant. He had whispered something to his shadow before he left and basically had one eye looking over his shoulder the entire walk. He wasn't fully present during the walk and when he smiled, there was more to it. Almost like he was worried.
He was like this after every "divorce" she had.
Rosie pulled the covers up and-
"What was that?" Rosie said slightly panicked. Something had just fallen off her roof.
She headed to window, undid the clasp, and, after fiddling for a moment, lifted the window. She looked down and saw a dead sinner wielding a gun, a friend of her late husband. Someone, or something, had pushed them off the roof. She closed the window, locked it, double checked it was locked, and went back to bed.
Rosie pulled the covers up and started to drift to sleep, oblivious to the shadow hidden in the corner of the room.
You're never fully dressed without a smile.
Rosie and Al arrived back at the emporium after that crazy night. They laughed the entire walk back and had a great time, even after Al's failed trip. They hung their coats on the rack beside the door and sat down around the coffee table.
They sat and talked for a little while and Al had was smiling the whole time. Rosie looked at his smile, it was different. He never wore his heart on his sleeve and kept her at arms length. She was used to it, but now? His smile was genuine. Truly and utterly genuine.
"I know I was a little against it at first, but thank you Rosie. I assumed tonight would've just stayed a disaster until you asked me to stay. Tonight wasn't all bad after all." Al said softly smiling and momentarily lowering his ears.
"Of course deer... I couldn't just let the night end like that." Rosie rested a hand on Al's and smiled. "Besides, I owed you one after I forced you to go in the first place." She lightly jabbed her elbow into Al's shoulder.
Al smiled and stood up. "I guess I should be going... it is quite later after all." He anxiously held his cane.
"It's up to you, you can always spend the night on the couch. It's quite comfortable." Rosie responded, heading over to the coat rack. "You're always welcome here..."
Al stood there a moment.
"Thank you Rosie, as always. I think I will head home however." He walked to the coat rack and grabbed his coat, draping it over his arm.
Rosie shrugged, she tried. "Well, stay safe deer, alright?" She pulled him into a quick hug before letting go.
"Yes of course, I'll be perfectly fine." Al smiled another seemingly genuine smile. But Rosie knew, it was slightly forced.
Al walked out the door and closed it behind him. Rosie started to turn around, but out of the corner of her eye saw Al's shadow leave him and slip back inside the emporium.
Rosie hid and watched the shadow enter and slide into a corner, hiding itself. Why was Al leaving his shadow here? To spy? Is he even more sick in the head than she thought?
Rosie watched and waited a little while longer before remembering. The hitman that was pushed off the roof, she didn't hear any foot steps when she opened the window. It must've been Al's shadow.
Al's shadow was there to protect her.
But who would protect Al?
You're never fully dressed without a smile.
Al had been living on Rosie's couch now for a couple weeks. He still wouldn't tell her where he was for all that time.
Rosie was worried about him, he wasn't the same since coming back. He never smiled, and when he did, it was very forced.
One night, it was late and Al had been in the bathroom for an hour or two.
Rosie knocked on the bathroom door, she was about to go to bed and wanted to say goodnight. "Al? You okay in there? I'm just here to say goodnight."
No response.
She knocked again, "Al?"
"I'm fine, goodnight Rosie." Al said through the door.
"Al. are you sure? You've been in there a while and... I'm just... worried." His voice was horse but she didn't want to mention it. She was worried he may have been crying.
"Goodnight Rosie." Al said, cold and dismissive.
"Al, you're worrying me. If you've been crying or something, that's okay, just come out and-"
Al's shadow slipped out from under the door.
"What's going on?" Rosie whispered.
The shadow was panicking, pointing at the door, smiling, then pointing at the smile. It continued making gestures but Rosie didn't know what he was trying to say. She saw the panic though and knew she had to go in.
"Al, I'm coming in." She quickly grabbed her key that rested on the doorsil and unlocked the door.
"Rosie, wait no-" Al started.
Rosie opened the door and saw him. He was sitting on the floor with his back to the wall. In his right hand was a needle with glowing green string flowing out from it. There was blood all over the sink with a bit on the floor. Blood was dripping from Al's face. He was weak, fragile.
Her eyes shifted up more and she saw it. Alastor was smiling, but not willingly.
He had stitched a smile onto his face.
"Oh god, Al!" She sprung into the room on knelt down infront of him. She grabbed the needle from his hand and tossed it behind her before carefully holding Alastor's head to look at the stitches. "Al... why? What, I... what did you do..?"
"I can't smile anymore. I can't have that. I am the Radio Demon, I need to smile. So now... now I don't have to worry." He couldn't meet her eyes.
Even though a smile was stitched on his face, Rosie could tell he was in pain. She could still tell how he was feeling. "Al, you didn't need to do this. You... We could've figured something out. There wasn't a rush for you to become, "The Radio Demon," again. You could've learned to smile again." Rosie pulled Alastor into a tight hug.
Alastor didn't argue, he didn't budge. He just let himself be held. Slow, silent tears started to fall from his eyes.
After sitting there for a little while, Rosie lead Al out of the bathroom to her room. She sat him down on her bed. She pulled out a first aid kit and dabbed at the dried blood and stitches with a damp cloth. She put some anti-bacterial cream on each stitch hole and a bandaid with gauze on one particularly bad hole that was still bleeding.
While Rosie worked neither of them said a word. Alastor still couldn't meet her eyes.
When she was done Alastor stood up and started to leave the room.
"Excuse me?" Rosie crossed her arms.
Alastor turned around and muttered, "Thank you Rosie," before attempting to leave again.
"No, no, no. You are going to tell me where you were and what happened now. You don't get to stitch your mouth into a smile and expect me to just drop it." Rosie said sternly.
"I can't tell you. I wish I could, but I really can't. And it was necessary. I had to do it." Alastor said, finally looking Rosie in the eyes.
Rosie stared Alastor up and down with her arms crossed. She spoke sternly and direct. "No, doing something like that to yourself is never necessary. I don't care if you needed your smile back or what. You'll never do that again..." Her act slipped and her voice grew a little shaky. "Right?"
Alastor looked into her eyes. She was really worried about him. That was unnecessary, he'd have to fix that. "I promise you, I won't." Alastor turned around and put a hand on her doorknob. "Am I allowed to go now?"
Rosie looked at Al, and reluctantly said, "You can go... I just don't want to see you hurt. That's all."
Al left and headed back to the couch. He would end up sleeping 14 hours. Rosie watched him leave and eventually cracked the door shut, she wanted to be able to hear him if he got up or if the stitches started hurting again.
Eventually Rosie lied back down. She wouldn't get any sleep that night.
She thought about what Alastor always said:
You're never fully dressed without a smile.
Author's Note:
When I was planning this, I didn't plan for it to get as serious as it did. I do think I needed to cover it for tomorrow's story to work, but still, this was not an easy story.
@radioroseweek
This story was a little bit of experimentation in terms of how I presented it, but I think it ended up working well! I really loved the idea that Al had stitched his own smile, and so I made sure to plan for that going in to writing this AU. Tomorrow will most certainly be filled with angst, but it sets up a great pay off for day 6, so tune in!?

Radiorose Week Day 3: Rosie's Fun
[6/8]
"Rosie darling, why do you insist on having garlic bread every time we eat together?" Alastor asked as Rosie handed him a piece of garlic bread. "You don't even eat it! You just give it all to me..?"
Rosie smiled and stifled a laugh, "What? Do you not like garlic bread?"
"Well, I do, but-"
Rosie interrupted, "Exactly! So just enjoy it and move on!"
"But I don't think that I need it with every meal... especially, when said meal is waffles and eggs." Alastor continued, poking at the bread with his fork. His smile may've been stitched onto his face, but she could tell, he was not amused.
"Well then don't eat it, but I... will be right back" Rosie quickly fled the room and turned the corner, instantly breaking out into a laughing fit.
It took 5 minutes for her to calm back down, and while she was laughing she thought, "I'm glad Al's getting back to normal. He came back super distant 4 months ago and then he..."
She stopped thinking about that. She didn't want to process those memories right now. Perhaps another time.
Rosie came back to the table. Al eyed her up and down before returning to his food.
"You haven't touched your garlic bread, you really should-" Rosie started.
Alastor threw his garlic bread across the table and it hit her head with a:
Al's eyes opened wide, he did not think his aim was that good.
They both sat there, silent, for 5 seconds, looking at each other, before busting out into laughter.
"I'm so sorry! I did not think my aim was that good!" "You're the Radio Demon! When you were human you never missed your targets, why would I be any different?!" They continued laughing, barely stopping to breathe.
Eventually they stopped laughing and Al started talking about his life at the hotel. "I swear, they would be even further from 0 with their little redemption plan, if I wasn't there." Al vented.
"I work harder than a bootlegger before one of FDR's little 'fireside chats...'" Al said with an eye roll, mocking the late heaven-sent president.
Rosie sighed, Al would never catch up with the modern times, would he?
"Well what about Husker and Nifty? Don't they help?" "Well yes, but Nifty is obsessed with roaches and other assorted creatures, while Husk would rather be gambling his life away. Which he did, and he died for it. And then he did it again, and now I own his soul. One would think he would learn..."
"What cards did you beat Husker with again?" Rosie asked, a slight smirk appearing on her face.
"I had an ace of queens and an ace of spades, but I don't see why that's important." Al asked curiously as his head tilted.
Rosie responded with a smug grin, "Oh it's not. It just makes sense though." "Why?" "Seeing how it's all aces with you." Rosie said, holding in a laugh.
Alastor glared at Rosie, "There it is again! You've said something along those lines 3 times now. Why?" He said as his teeth didn't move, glowing instead as he spoke.
Rosie put a hand to her mouth and started chuckling again and didn't give Al an answer. Alastor sighed, and his smile went back to normal.
A couple weeks later Alastor came back into Cannibal Town with Charlie. Rosie made another ace joke, just different enough that it went over Al's head.
Right after Rosie finished giving relationship advice to Charlie she says, "Charlie, Alastor doesn't know it, but he's aroace."
Charlie's eyes lit up and a huge smile appeared on her face, "We should tell him that!"
"No!" "Wait, what? Why not? He should be able to understand himself more." "Just wait a little while, he still doesn't get all the jokes I make." Rosie smiles an mischievous grin. "I have fun teasing him about it when he doesn't even know. It's absolutely hilarious."
Charlie left that interaction both hopeful about the advice she was given for her relationship, and a tad confused about Rosie and Alastor's relationship.
Author's Note:
First off! I did make a bit of an assumption of when Al died. From what I searched, Al died in 1933. The fireside chats started in March that year, so I assume Al died in the later half. Maybe August, September, or October. It would be prime hunting season after all.
This is smaller because I have to do so much for some other ones that I didn't really want to overwork myself. Sorry!!! Tomorrow's is going to be amazing though! But a bit of a warning, it's a little dark and there are some trigger warnings. It's nothing too intense, but just fair warning.

Radiorose Week Day 2: A Final Waltz
[4/8]
Alastor's shadow slid underneath the door to his radio tower. Alastor looked it up and down, squinted, and turned his chair around. Rosie must be right outside the door.
Rosie unlocked the door and tried to stealthily open the door. She barely began to tip-toe in when she saw Alastor looking directly at her.
"Oh... uh, surprise?" Rosie said with a half-hearted chuckle.
Alastor raised an eyebrow and sighed, "What do you need Rosie?"
"Oh don't be so formal! Is that how you treat your after-life-long friend?" She responded with a sly smile. "Besides, you trust me, right?"
Alastor didn't respond and just looked at her with a flat face. Rosie saw this look, rolled her eyes, and held up the key to the tower that Al had given her.
Alastor rolled his eyes and turned away in his chair. "If you're here just to mock me, you can leave."
Rosie quickly rushed to his side and grabbed his shoulders, turning him to look at her. "Oh come on! Don't be like that. Besides... you have a party to attend!"
"Oh no, Rosie..."
Rosie grabbed his wrists and pulled him out of his seat and out of the tower. "Now come on! We don't want to be late, do we?"
Rosie led Al by his wrist all the way across town, while he internally cringed and hoped that no-one was seeing this. "Rosie really, I don't need a party. I'd rather stay at my tower."
Rosie put her hands over Al's eyes and slowly led him inside the emporium. "Hush hush! Just see it first, okay?" Al resisted the urge to bite her hands off as she led him inside.
Once inside Rosie awkwardly shifted to his front while keeping her hands on his eyes. "You ready?" "Yes." "You sure..?" "Rosie, enough of this just-"
Rosie had let go off his eyes and jumped back to be underneath the banner hanging between two pillars. On it was a crossed out, "Happy Birthday!" in blood. (Rosie now knew that Al really did not like parties with other people when the focus was himself. They did have some good leftovers for a week however) Instead the banner read, "See you soon!" Rosie smiled a weak smile, she was really hoping he wasn't about to go full shadow and static mode.
Al looked around the room, then back at Rosie. He was a little confused and asked, "Is it just... us two?"
Rosie nodded and held up a bottle of wine, hoping that maybe this would entice Al enough to stay. Al glanced around the room again, then back at Rosie and smiled. "Thank you darling, this is... a pleasant surprise." He said, filtering his true thoughts of the whole thing.
Rosie, cheerful as ever, popped open the cork and poured a glass for both of them. They sat on the couch and drank. They talked about anything and everything, just like they used to. Rosie made sure to enjoy this, it'd be 2 months before she saw him again.
"So where are you going for 2 months?" "Ah darling, I can't say. I have to keep some mystery, don't I?" Al gave a fake smile. Rosie knew it was fake, she always knew, but she didn't decide to push. "Well, you can tell me when you get back. I look forward to hearing all about it."
2 hours and a bottle of wine later and they were both feeling quite tipsy. Alastor had a constant smile on his face and Rosie was rambling on about her what she's learned about gardening recently.
"-and that's when I learned that blood cactuses need blood, not water!" She laughed hysterically. "You thought I'd figure that out, it's in the name after-"
"Care for a dance?" Al interjected, his voice had lost it's filter. He stood up and walked to the radio he got Rosie one year after an extermination.
"Why, sure deer!" Rosie smiled and stood up beside Al.
Al tuned the radio to his station and they started dancing to the music. They were a little sluggish and not quite at their best, but they were having the time of their lives. Rosie stumbled and they both laughed and continued.
But eventually, a slow dance song came on.
Alastor looked towards his staff that was sitting on the couch. He could easily change the song, but he didn't. For whatever reason, he walked close to Rosie and asked, "Shall I have this dance?"
Rosie chuckled and prepared for Al to lead; until she saw that Al's arms weren't in the proper leading position. He wanted her to lead.
This was strange. He always led with others; it let him hold that power in the moment. This was different, he trusted her enough to let her lead.
She tilted her head curiously but linked up with him anyways. They danced a slow waltz to the song and Al didn't say a word during the entire song, not even when she spun him.
They danced like this for the whole song, and after it came to it's end, Al leaned in close and gave Rosie a tight hug. Rosie stumbled back but returned the hug.
She didn't know if it was maybe just the alcohol or some weird sensory trick, but she could swear she felt a tear on her shoulder.
Alastor knew that it wouldn't be just two months.
They went back to the couch and Al, clearly tired from all the dancing and wine, rested his head on Rosie's shoulder.
"Well would you say this party was successful?" "I'd say so." "Better than the birthday one?" Al laughed, yawned, and said "Anything would be better than the birthday one." "Yeah, that wasn't the best party I've hosted. I think you scarred Susan's daughter" Rosie laughed. "Good to know I have a much higher bar to clear for the party when you come back!" She smiled for a moment before realizing Al wasn't responding.
"Al?" She carefully turned her head and saw him. He was dead asleep. His eyes were closed, ears down, and after a moment soft static sounds filled the room.
Rosie smiled and leaned her head on his. She would let him sleep on the couch. She figured, why send him home at 3 in the morning after all? She didn't move quite yet, she was enjoying this closeness with Al.
Little did she know, they wouldn't be this close after Al returned. Everything would be different. They wouldn't dance again until Al understood.
Author's Note:
So I tried something new with giving a playlist that I thought fit what I was writing! Hopefully my music choice wasn't horrible... And I know this is supposed to be a shipping week, but what is storytelling without a bit of angst? (This isn't even the worst one, this is mild compared to one coming up)

Reblogging because I messed up the scheduled post and wanted to release it now!
Radiorose Week Day 1: Alastor's Subconscious Routine
[2/8]
Edit:
I messed up scheduling when I was working on this, so if you read it before 6/8/24 (the proper release date), it's changed! Read it again! (or don't, it's up to you.)
"Rosie, are you home?!" Al yelled as he stood outside the emporium. He had knocked several times and there was no response. This was odd, they had a walk planned at this time every week.
Rosie finally opened the door and came outside. There was a bit of blood on her cheek.
"Sorry about that Al, I was dealing with my now ex-husband." She said cheerfully. Alastor pulled out a handkerchief, reached over, and wiped the blood off her face.
Alastor put it in his pocket and said, "I can tell, you were a tad... messy."
Rosie's cheeks turned a little pink. Embarrassed, she stuck out her arm, "Shall we?"
Alastor linked his arms with Rosie's and they started their afternoon stroll. Alastor was always keen to be on the right of Rosie; he said it was so he could hold his staff in his dominant hand, but Rosie knew better. Deep down, she was certain he was a bit of a softy.
"I see you had a falling out with yet another husband, dinner tomorrow at 7 per usual then?" Rosie sighed and said: "Yes, though I think we'll have leftovers this time round."
They continued their stroll through Cannibal Town. Ever since the incident years ago, Alastor had grown closer to Rosie, she was his only real friend after all; she had been there through it all. He looked forward to their weekly walks. Rosie, on the other hand, while also enjoying their walks, thought doing the same thing week after week was getting a bit stale.
"Hmm, still. I think that was a new record," Rosie chuckled. "I don't know what you saw in him though... or any of your other exes" Alastor told Rosie.
"Yes... I know, deer. You've been quite vocal about that before," she responded slightly annoyed, but a small smile betraying her presentation.
They eventually made it back to the emporium and, per usual, Rosie invited Al inside. He wouldn't come in any other way. He held the door open for Rosie as they walked in.
When they made it inside, Rosie pulled out one of her boxes of chocolate fingers that she kept in stock for after their walks. She put the box on the coffee table and they sat down together on the couch to gossip.
"I hear the queen is planning something big." Good, someone needs to do it, the king is too short to think big." Rosie took a moment before responding, "What, do you think he's... short-sighted?" "Haha Rosie." Alastor said with a smile on his face.
"I like it when you smile deer. It's really something special." Rosie said, putting on the charm.
"Oh thank you Rosie," he touched his spiky teeth, "I like to believe it can be intimidating too." He said, completely ignorant to Rosie's advance.
After 30 minutes or so, they finished their gossip, said goodbye, and Alastor left. Stood right outside the front door, he told his shadow: "Stick with Rosie, it would be quite unfortunate for this one to have friends hellbent on revenge. Make sure she stays safe... but, perhaps don't let her see you." His shadow nodded and slipped inside. Alastor paused before heading off to his radio tower.
Author's Note:
Hey! I'm planning something, and all of the fics I'm writing for this week will be part of the same AU! So in timeline order, this is part 2 of 8. Also, this is probably the shortest one. Other ones will be longer! This is also my first actual fanfic! So do not expect Shakespeare. They will release everyday this week, the links at the bottom is just to read it in timeline order.
Edit after the... scheduling incident:
Also, I have never used Tumblr's queue system, and I still don't quite grasp it, but the other posts seem to be working so... idk? I must've just messed this one up lol.

I will mostly be writing fanfictions about fandoms I personally like (even if they aren't very popular). Sometimes I might even write an original story here and there, we'll see!
