Today is a happy and sad day! Today we reach the end of our journey with the four legendaries of the region. On the sad side, there's nothing else (so far) to post about the Costora region. On the bright side, we've made it! The project is complete!
So, today we start with the legendaries! Four powerful entities split between the realms of good and evil: two powerful dragons that protect the world; two entities that bask in the suffering of others!
Introducing (On the posts below) Seruma, Gasiroar, Pactivi and Patriaclipse!
Seruma and Gasiroar are both from the Mexica mythology inspired by Quetzalcoatl and Tezcatlipoca; meanwhile Pactivil and Patriaclipse come from the Mayan mythology, inspired by Ah-Puch and Itzimna respectively.
We start with Seruma, the Feathered Serpent Pokémon, ruler of light, Sun and the skies! In Costoran Myths, Seruma is a benefactor and protector of mankind, constantly at odds with Gasiroar.
Seruma comes with a new ability called "Gift of the Sun", protecting from water AND ice type moves while also instantly charging Solar beam and Solar blade.
Oppossing Seruma, Gasiroar uses the mirror-like parts of its body to ensnare people into hallucinations, mostly showing the true self of a person for its own delight.
Gasiroar's unique new ability is "Smoking Mirror", which brings havok to the battlefield randomizing status effects and aditional effects of any move.
Still on the evil side we got Pactivil (posted earlier too), a Pokémon resembling a floating corse, constantly looking for ill pacts with mortals, offering their biggest dreams at terrible costs.
Pactivil comes with its own new unique ability called "Bonding Pact". Forcing all stat changes to be reflected, be it good or bad, be it towards him or towards the foe.
The final Light dweller is Patriaclipse, father of the legends in Costora. A serpentine pokémon with a sun and moon decorating its two heads. it's said he is the giver of all life in Costora.
Patriaclipse also has a unique new ability called "Perfect Balance", rendering super effective and not super effective attacks back to deal normal damage.
If you notice, Seruma is a serpentine dragon with feathered wings and decorations. Gasiroar's body exudes a gas that forms its tail and one of its paws. Pactivil is a flying corpse as stated before. And Patriaclipse is a dragon that represents balance and duality.
Seruma's name comes from "Serpiente" (Snake) y "Pluma" (Feather). Gasiroar's name comes from "Gas" and "Roar". Pactivil's name comes from "Pact" and "Evil" Patriaclipse's name comes from "Patriarch" and "Eclipse"
And with this... we reach to the conclusion of Costora. This marks the end (for now) of all the posts. There are no new Pokémon and there's no new people (YET... Might draw alternative versions for a couple characters as I explain more the story).
Thank you everyone for having joined me in this journey! I hope you all enjoyed my Mexico inspired region! From the cheerful protagonists to the energetic Gym Leaders all the way to the terrible demented Leaders of the evil teams.
In the coming weeks I might start posting some trivia info about the region just to not let this project die. Get ready to learn some extra info about it all! Some of the data MIGHT have already been posted, but I swear I will bring more new info!
Until those days, I bid you farewell! Thanks for everything everyone!! Sincerly, from the Costora Region... THANK YOU VERY MUCH!

"Justice is the balance of the world!"
- PPC motto
It's Wednesday and today, we'll review the final important characters of the region! Meet the Police Prevention Corps!
The Police Prevention Corps or PPC are a branch of the international Police operating in Costora in order to bring down the two evil organizations Team Awake and Team Slumber! Their ranks have people from different backgrounds, all united to go against the totalitarian ways.
The agents come from different regions, but all of them have the same mentality regarding the evil teams, extremists must be stopped! They feel reasured by the Director of the corps, as he seems to be a really honest run of the mill guy.
Above them, are the three detectives, the youngest of them is Cooper, a star talent boy who rose from agent to detective in record time. He's always tired and drinking coffee, he refuses being helped, but the director always sends back up to help him out.
Next up, Detective Gina, who happens to be Walter and Zoe's mother. She is strong, intelligent and motherly towards the new recruits. She's definitively the mama hen of the corps. She is also well versed in martial arts, and wouldn't doubt to use them on dangerous suspects.
Before the director, comes Nova. Rumors say she used to be a spy in a war, and also that her looks does NOT match her age. She is a brilliant mind and a master tactician. She also happens to be Nicte's mother, and worries about her having joined Team Slumber.
Finally, Director Marcus, the leader of the PPC, strong believer in balance between progress and tradition, as well as father of Diego and Alma. He was appointed to guide this group since he is a Costoran Native citizen. His methods are quite fatherly some say.
The PPC swore to protect peace in Costora and to prevent the extremist groups to take over. Their missions not only try to stop the operations of Team Awake and Slumber, but also make people aware of the thin line that must be followed by progress so tradition does not disappear.
Marcus has done efforts to have his and Gina's kids away from the dangerous trouble... but if they decide helping them is what they want to do, he's not opposed to accept it and welcome them to the corps.
And with this, we have covered ALL the important Costora characters! I hope all of them are of your liking.
I will see you all on Friday for the final Pokémon!

It's monday! And this is the first day of our last week! Today I will be introducing to you the mythical quartet, the guardians of the spirit world, inspired by the Four Messenger Owls of Xibalba!
We start with Xibarrow, inspired by Chabi-Tucur, an owl as fast as an arrow. The quills at the tips on its wings generate charges that explode upon impact.
Xibaiant, inspired by Huracan-Tucur, originally described with a single leg, changed the design to be more inspired by the name, a strong storm, and turned it into a blizzard.
Then comes Xibaphal, inspired by Holom-Tucur, an owl that is only a head with wings. Added the feet a bit for comical/cute effect. since flying is hard for it, it uses its psychic powers to do so.
Finally, the last guardian is Xibard, inspired by Caquix-Tucur, a red guacamayan-like owl. A small owl whose greatest weapon is its voice, being able to shriek so high, it can make ears bleed.
These Four come with their shared unique new ability called Law of Karma. One of the most broken abilities I've designed since it works as a mix of Contrary and Magic Bounce.
These four Pokémon are meant to guard and protect the world of the spirits (accessible by the central vortex in Costora) You'd need to have all four of them in your team if you attempt to catch the four Legendary Pokémon.
All of them are mainly Dark-types since their origin is the Mayan underwold, but their final typing is:
Xibarrow Dark/Electric type
Xibaiant Dark/Ice type
Xibaphal Dark/Psychic type
Xibard Dark/Sound type
Get ready to meet on wednesday the Police Prevention Corps! The force of the law in Costora! And on Friday, we're meeting the Legendary Pokemon (Will repost in there Pactivil)
See you all soon!

It's Friday and you know what that means! Introducing today the final regional variant! The best boi, the sweet boy Dachsbun! Now being a Fairy/Ghost type!
The adorable boy can evolve in two forms in Costora, anyother place will give you a normal Dachsbun, but evolving it at Fainado Jungle or Panteterio city will result in this Pan de muerto variant.
The design is obviously as I said, inspired by Pan de Muerto, a special bread that we in Mexico normally bake for Day of the Dead, the white fur is meant to mimic the sugar in the bread. And this boy also comes with Oppression as its hidden ability!
And with this, the regional variants have been covered! Stay tunned next week for our grand finale with the mythical quartet, the final organization of Costora and the last three legendary Pokémon!
Until then!

"Sleep peacefully knowing our traditions shield us from the modern evils!"
- Team Slumber's motto upon leaving the scene.
Meet Team Slumber! One of the two villanous teams of Costora. They attempt to stop the progress of Costora, longing for the glorious past of the region and hating on the people that came from different regions.
Team Slumber grunts are people alienated by their Leader into believing anyone who came from another region is a colonizer that wanted to delete and oppress their ancient glorious civilizations. They have fallen for
Team Slumber admins all think alike and have no ulterior motives other than fulfill their leader's ambitions. Their motivation comes from the idea that their traditions have been trampled by the people from other places and they HAVE to be rescued and respected as in old times.
From them, the fiercest is Xitlali. Her tribe was the original owner of the land where Mumia Park stands now, she hates Lucy and Orion for taking the land. In reality, the elders of her tribe are the ones who sold it looking for a better place to live.
The youngest admin. is Nicte, niece of the leader but also a free thinker. She does believe in her uncle's ideals, but is aware he takes things too far at times. She is willing to stand up against him if she thinks people will get hurt. She also keeps a secret from the others.
The leader's right hand is Mocte, grandson of Chamani and cousin of Theo and Dora. He joined the team per petition of his granny since his cousins embraced foreign traditions aside from theirs. He supports the ideas of the leader, but that doesn't mean he's comfortable with them.
Finally, Tenoch, their leader. He's a stubborn man who hates anyone who comes from a different region. In particular he has a grudge against Paldeans. He is the kind of guy who claims naturals from the region are the victims of progress and they shall be compensated.
Team Slumber's goal is to make a pact with Pactivil, in order to change history and have it be as if no people from other regions had reached Costora. In Tenoch's view, Costora would be so much more advanced than others that they could rule the world.
Team Slumber's plans constantly clash with Team Awake. So they decided a good strategy would be to convince young new trainers to join them, after all, what better soldier than an impressionable young person?
Will Team Slumber poison the minds of our protagonist?
And so, you've met the two evil teams! Next Wednesday we'll be covering the Police Prevention Corps! And we'd have met all the important characters of Costora Region (And by that Friday, all Pokémon too)
Stay tunned!!

It's Monday! And this week we finish the regional variants! The second to last of them, is a MUCH NEEDED male Salazzle! Type remains the same, in this case, only the gender changes.
Unlike Salazzle in other regions, Costoran Salazzle is male only (as mentioned before) and it's its saliva what you must be careful of. Once infected, it's really hard to get out of the daze.
I know regional variants NORMALLY are different type and stuff and some people would even think a male exclusive evolution (Like Gallade) would be better, but I wanted to play with the idea of how a male Salazzle would look like. The result is this thug-like lizzard hehe.
So basically I changed the "Typically feminine traits" and turned them into "typically masculine" giving it abs, and a bigger frame, though I kept the lashes in the eyes because he's a "pretty though boy" hehehe (Sorry for my terrible sense of humor)

Happy Friday everyone! I'm not exactly a fan of Gen 5, but this is one of my favorite pokémon of said gen (Together with the Litwick line)! Introducing Psychic/Sound type Zorua and Zoroark!
The small Zorua now sports a pair of fangs in the front of its muzzle. The pattern of its eyelids is natural fur, the decoration on ears and fluff actually are placed there by Zoroark.
Zoroark is prone to decorate itself with stones reformed with its claws, this all started upon noticing it made the people of old Costora to revere it as a God.
As you can see, it was a Zoroark who noticed and started to decorate the young ones and itself, humans being unable to make one pokémon from another, thought it was the same. Costoran Zorua and Zoroark are inspired by Huehuecoyotl, a deity from Mexica mythology.
And as you can see, Zoroark's fur is combed in a way that it resembles clothing (a loincloth or a tunic depending on how you look at it). It also has patterns that seem to be tattoos, but are just the colors of its fur. it uses its own shed fur to make the ties of its hair.

"Stay awake people! Traditions only shackle you to an unfair past! We most bring progress and modernity to everyone!"
- The motto of Team Awake in every rally they do
Meet Team Awake! one of the two villanous teams that try to take over Costora and manipulate people for their own benefit by advancing their agenda. They weaponize arts and try to take control of certain legendary in order change the past and make it fit their narrative.
Team Awake grunts are people who simply feel joining this team that is all about progress and forgetting the past will give them some sort of superiority. They are either manipulated by the admin's agenda infused works or rallied by the Leader's and Right hand seductive speeches.
And speaking of the admins! Let's start with the lowest in the ranks, Prince. An socialite from Northern Costora who got seduced by the Team Leader's speeches into going against his own groups. Some of his own respect him, others despise him. Some say he's just weak minded.
Following the ranks, Manuel is a an opposing singer to Shannelle and has a beef with Brandom and Lucio since he uses his music to push his ideas unto people weaponizing his art belittling those who don't think like him on a regular basis.
Patricia on the other hand, is the right hand of the Leader, a silver tongued woman whose speech against the groups and traditions of old have managed to turn so many people in their favor. She advocates for evolution of our civilization without caring for the world around her.
And finally, Becky, Team Awake's newest leader who has no real care if her team is right or not, the real reason she's looking for the legendary Pokémon Gasiroar is to use it in order to change the past and become the most powerful and influential person in the world.
Team Awake's nefarious plans constantly clash with Team Slumber's schemes, so the PPC tries to use this on their advantage in order to bring both of them down. Nevertheless, Team Awake has decided to aim now towards young new trainers in order to lure them to their ranks!
Will Team Awake's seductive words lure Diego, Alma, Zoe and Walter to their ranks? Only their decisions will let us know!
Next Wednesday, we'll meet Team Slumber! So don't miss out!

Hey! It's Monday and as promised I bring more pokémon!! This time, since Paldea has a regional Tauros, I bring a regional Miltank! Following with Tauros three forms, I also gave it three forms!
The base for the regional Miltank is a pure Fairy-type as opposed to Tauros' Fighting type. In Costora, Miltanks are breed not just for the milk but for a wide variety of derivated products.
The first variant is a Fairy/Poison type inspired by cheese. Why Poison? Well, it all comes from the process of creating cheese (If you know, you know).
The second one is inspired by ice cream, making it a Fairy/Ice type. As you can assume from its coloring, the base of its ice cream is flavorless, but it mixes well with pretty much anything.
I hope you like the cute cow pokémon regional variant! We're heading to the last stretch, and most probably, this month you'll see the goal of the finished region! Wait this Wednesday to meet the members of the first Evil Team!

Happy Friday! Today I bring a Costoran evolution from a third gen pokémon! Introducing the Rock/Psychic Costoran Claydol!
This regional variant is inspired by the Olmec stoneheads. Turning Claydol into a more angular creation to make it a bit more distinct from the original one. Its head has 4 sides, and 4 faces.
I know the design is not exactly that of the Olmec head, but let's be honest, that was the point, recognizable, yet distinct enough to be its own thing.
Anyway, as I mentioned before, I'll be taking this next week to rest a bit. I'll see you all on April 8th!

Today I got something special for you! FINALLY! Introducing the two villain teams and the Forces of Order that fight them! in order, Team Awake, Police Prevention Corps and Team Slumber!
In the Costora region, there are two villanous teams that menace the peace and balance; and a special group of the internationa police that was designated to face them and aprehend them. Considering your choices count, which of them would you side?
Team Awake is a group of influential people who advocate for progress, evolution and development ignoring, erasing or trying to change the past. They love to poison people's minds with the idea that "New" and "Progressive" means good while "Tradition" and "Old" are bad.
Team Slumber on the other hand, is comformed by people who have seen their lives destroyed by progress. They preach that "Old" and "Tradition" are good while "Progressive" and "New" are en evil that will destroy what mankind has achieved so far.
The Police Prevention Corps (or PPC) on the other hand. Come from different backgrounds and all seek one thing preserve the "Balance". Their ideal is that old and new are equally good; and serve by the motto "You cannot progress if you do not learn from the past"
Of course! Each group has their own leader! While Team Awake's Leader lives all for have superiority, Team Slumber's Leader demands respect to the old. And the PPC's chief seeks to stop both of them and halt the destruction their ideals have brought to Costora.
And now that you know of each Team's motivations and ideals... where will your choices lead you? A world full of progress and innovation for the sake of it? A world stagnant in the past without development? Or a world where past and future are part of the grand scheme?
In the upcoming weeks I will start posting the Team members. It might take a bit, and I will also take next week to rest since my eyes are currently hating me as I need new glasses (Already ordered them, just waiting for delivery).
And without further ado... I will see you all on Friday for the next pokémon post, and in two Mondays for the continuation of the uploads!!! Have a great time everyone!!!

Happy Monday everyone!! Today we continue the regional variants or new forms! I've previously shown Stonjourner and the Garchomp line, today, we got ROTOMS! Light and Sound type!
First, we got the Electric/Light type Camera Rotom, inspired by a Polaroid instant camera. This little trickster loves to blur pictures when people say they are gonna be perfect.
Then we got the Electric/Sound type Phonograph form. It brings quite a bit of tech to an old record player and is a firm believer that nights are NOT meant to be so quiet.
As you can see, I decided to go with the new types to have Rotom get new forms. It was fun to design them actually hehe. And of course, These two are part of Lucio and Shannelle teams respectively.

Hey! It's friday!! And today we have the last cryptid of Costora! Under the code name Giggling Water, we have the Ghost/Water type Isloll! Inspired by La Isla de las Muñecas!
It's name comes from Island and Doll. According to old legends of Costora, dolls hanging on a tree were used to chase away evil spirits, but ended up being possessed by them giving birth to it.
The legend in its lore, is the legend of the Island of Dolls in Xochimilco (A bit modified of course), The inspirations for this design are a mix of Child's Play and Annabelle. Obviously playing on the possessed toy idea.
And unlike Banette, is not being abandoned what gave it life, but being used for something it wasn't meant to be used for, in this case, as talismans to reject evil spirits, which effectively gave those spirits a body to inhabit.
With this, all cryptids have been uploaded! I really hope you like them! Which one is your favorite by the way? Personally, Chagro is the top one, followed by Lagrimela. Next up, the remaining regional variants (And regional new forms)

"When you understand why the little parts add up to the result... then you understand perfectly how to battle"
- Sofía
Introducing, Costora's Champion, the director prodigy Sofía!
Sofía is Maximilian's Grand daughter. Many think her ascend into Championship was due to nepotism, but in fact, she managed to defeat the whole Elite Four, and managed to defeat 5 out of 6 of Maximilian's team. Her ace fainted half a second before his did.
Surprisingly, she wears clothes that remind one to the directors of old. She's infatuated with old movies, hence her fascination with the outfit, yet she is also fully aware of the progress the film industry is for the best.
She is fully aware of the two organizations working within Costora, and is also aware some of the members of the league support one or another, as well as other members fully support the special group formed by the International Police to deal with them.
And with this... the pokémon league is fully revealed!! You've met the 11 Major League Leaders, the 11 Minor League Leaders as well as the Elite Four and the Champion! Now we're just missing the bad guys... and the other good guys.

It's Monday! And today I introduce to you the second to last Cryptid of Costora! The Grass/Light type Mannetree! Loosely inspired by the legend of La Pascualita.
The name comes from Mannequin and Tree. This pokemon is surprisingly not a ghost type despite having the soul of a human within it.
The original legend states that the daughter of a clothing store owner died poisoned on her wedding day. The mother, heartbroken, preserved the body and set it as an exhibition in the store, wearing the dress she would have used for her wedding.
What is true, what is not, lies on the listener/viewer. But that is the basis of the soul that gives life to this new pokémon.
One pokémon left and we'll be done with the cryptids!! YAY! I hope you guys have been enjoying this soo far! And this wednesday, get ready to meet the region's Champion!

Happy Friday! Today I have an interesting one! Introducing Barrux, the Ground/Psychic Tiny Trickster! Inspired by the Aluxes from Mayan legends (And looking quite alike a it)
Its name comes from Barro (Mud) and Alux, the creature is inspired from. As you can see it has some fancy decorations, they make those with hardenned mud, they take a lot of time to craft them.
They appear in the myths and legends of Costora under different names, but in the southern parts they are known to have been guardians who would fiercely defend whatever they are set to protect, and mercilessly attack those who try to get it.
Their bodies have a mix of mud and wood texture, their thin limbs are quite swift and they use them to move around on the trees in the jungles. Most of them upon passing the contracted time, become wild and free.
Only two more Cryptids to go! And after that, we move on to the quartet of this Region! Still deciding if I should post the costoran forms of other pokémon before I finally post the legendaries (One has already been posted, Pactivil)

"Light will either do wonders for you or be your worst enemy, now stay still while I snap a photo worth a thousand suns!"
- Lucio
Introducing the Light-type specialist, Lucio!
An expert photographer who has set several exhibitions in Costora and other regions. He's a master of composition and can make the simplest of things into the most wonderful piece of art. He's cheerful and always tries to see the possitive in life.
He's a powerful member of the Elite Four, and the leader of them all, he specialized in Light-type Pokémon since, light is a really important part of his passion, photography. His Ace is Hualway, but has a special liking for Zeraophim.
Lucio is Brandom's best friend and life partner. Both of them share a dislike and rivalry with a certain organization's admin who uses his art as a means to convince people to follow his personal views, which they stand against, since art is meant to be enjoyed, not weaponized.
