Infamous Tcc'ers part 2

Pekka-Eric Auvinen was born on June 4, 1989, in Tuusula, Finland. He lived together with his parents, Ismo Auvinen and Mikaela Vuorio, and his younger brother. His father worked as a school counselor and was a guitarist. His mom was also a guitarist, a vocalist, and worked in health care. They lived in Helsinki when Pekka was born, but they moved to Jokela for a more quiet life (50 km away from Helsinki). Pekka was named after the Finnish guitarist Pekka Järvinen and the famous Eric Clapton.

In elementary school he had some friends and was good in school. Auvinen later on had fewer and fewer friends in school, he started to get bullied in middle school for his height and social awkwardness. He blushed easily and was anxious around others. His grades started to drop. He told his parents about the bullying. They informed the school, but the school didn't do anything. His mom & dad also contacted the parents of his bullies, but the bullying only got worse.

Pekka stayed in his room a lot, and his parents really wanted him to do some sports or anything else outside of school, but he wasn't interested. Since a young age he was allowed to play  games, but only  non-violent ones. His parents took these away. He was really anxious and started getting depressed. In 2006, after seeing a doctor, he got prescribed antidepressants, but was never referred to a psychologist as the doctors didn't see his depression as a severe issue. The pills first worked, but after some time he stopped taking them, as they had almost no effect anymore.

At 12 he started to be interested in politics, extreme ideologies like communism & Nazism. His mom had many books about this, and she gave him some of them to read.

In March 2007 he made his first own YouTube channel called naturalselector89, where he posted about Columbine, politics, and other things. He once stated:

"I wish that death to mankind comes soon."

His classmates also started to bully him even more for this, thinking he was weird, even being shot at with pellet guns.

When Pekka joined Jokela High School the bullying almost stopped. His classmates described him as a normal boy. Even though he still didn't really make many friends outside of school, as he stayed in his room a lot, Pekka made his own music and also played a lot more video games now, ones like Battlefield 2 and JFK Reloaded.

On the internet Pekka created different accounts. In March 2007 he opened a YouTube channel under the name NaturalSelector89, where he uploaded videos about previous school shootings, the Tokyo sarin attack, and other events. He also shared his thoughts about politics, society, and human nature. He shared about social Darwinism, existentialism, and self-awareness, and he hated both religion and society. By October his channel was banned for the content, but he quickly returned with another channel called Sturmgeist89. He also had some "haters," as he called them, like TheAmazingAtheist YouTuber, who said in one of his videos:

"If someone starts talking about how they admire Eric and Dylan, you have to wonder if they might not be potentially dangerous. I think they should be investigated."

Pekka uploaded on his new account, videos of himself shooting his gun in the woods, he named her Catherine, and he also shared videos of video games.

On another platform called "IRC Galleria," Pekka got to know a with a Finnish woman named Vaula Kuuluvainen. They connected in a group chat called "Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold." He talked about wanting to commit an attack in August 2007. Vaula didn't believe him, so she just distanced herself from him.

He also met Tanja, a German girl. In August 2007 Pekka and her started dating. After a while Tanja started to text with another guy named Steve. When Pekka found it out, he texted her asking if she loves him now. She only replied that she still loves him as a friend, but nothing more.

At the same time Pekka was writing his manifesto, which he published in both Finnish and English on November 6, 2007, the day before the attack. In it he said that he was acting as a natural selector, removing those unfit for life. He wrote lines such as “I would rather fight and die than live a long and unhappy life” and “humanity is overrated.” He rejected equality and tolerance, and presented himself as a soldier in a war against a corrupt species. He quoted philosophers like Plato and Nietzsche as well as Ted Kaczynski, blending ideas into a justification for violence. He also apologized to some people from his past, including his ex-girlfriend Tanja.

"Hate, I am so full of it, and I love it. That is the only thing I really love. Some time ago, I used to believe in humanity and I wanted to live a long and happy life... but then I woke up. I started to think deeper and realized things. But it was not easy to become existential... Knowing as much as I know has made me unhappy, frustrated, and angry. I just can't be happy in the society or reality I live. Due to a long process of existential thinking, observing the society I live in, and some other things that happened in my life... I have come to the point where I feel nothing but hate against humanity and the human race."

To prepare the Jokela High School Massacre, he joined a shooting club so that he could apply for a firearms license. He was granted one. He purchased a Luger, which wasn't there, so he bought a .22 caliber semi-automatic Sig Sauer Mosquito handgun. On November 2, 2007, Pekka purchased more than 500 rounds of ammunition. Pekka's parents didn't know anything about this gun. He recorded himself practicing with the weapon in the forest and uploaded these clips online.

He originally planned to target a shopping center or the parliament.

On the morning of November 7, 2007, he skipped class and uploaded his last video at 9:33, in which he showed his school and his gun while a song by KMFDM played in the background. At 11:28 he left home on his bicycle, carrying his pistol and about 600 rounds. At 11:37 he entered the school through the basement, and by 11:40 he began shooting. He had killed several students and the school nurse. He moved through the corridors firing more than fifty shots, trying to enter classrooms. The principal, Helena Kalmi, attempted to confront him outside in order to distract him for the police, but he shot her seven times and killed her. He then re-entered the building and tried to shoot at police through a window, but the glass would not break. At 12:04 he went to the entrance where police were already present. Then he shot himself in the head. He was taken to hospital in Helsinki but died later that evening. Pekka killed eight people, five male students, one female student, the nurse, and the principal, before ending his own life.

Ismo Auvinen and Mikaela Vuorio were interviewed by Finnish media. In the conversations, they spoke about their son with sorrow, trying to understand how the boy they raised had become the young man responsible for the tragedy. His father explained that Pekka had always been somewhat quiet and withdrawn, but showed no obvious signs that he would commit such violence. His mother described how she noticed his depression and struggles. Both parents expressed feelings of guilt, wondering if they could have done more to prevent what happened. At the same time, they emphasized that Pekka was not a monster from birth but someone who gradually lost his way, isolated himself, and became consumed by radical ideas online.

Inspired events:

In September 2008 another young man, Matti Saari, carried out the Kauhajoki school shooting after being directly inspired by Pekka’s example.

Karma Hietanen was 21 years old when she gained attention in 2016 after police discovered she had been preparing a school shooting inspired by Auvinen. She had developed an intense obsession with Auvinen, seeing him as someone she had a spiritual connection with. She visited his grave up to 20 times a day, collected soil from it, and cut herself on his grave. She also visited Jokela High School. Karma's plan was to carry out a school massacre and then take her own life so that she could be reunited with Auvinen "in the afterlife" as a perfect couple. She was caught, and the Helsinki court ruled her mentally unfit to stand trial and ordered involuntary psychiatric treatment instead of imprisonment.

Another women named Evita Kolmonen was a 23 years old and from Vaasa. She was influenced by Pekka. She praised him in online conversations and visited Jokela High School. Kolmonen had also adopted his worldview, describing the world as suffering from “human degeneration” and pushing for what she called a "mass culling" to end individualism and unchecked consumption. In March 2024, she traveled armed to the vicinity of the Isokyrö school she intended to attack. She decided not to do it, and authorities arrested her in the parking lot of her address. The court sentenced her to three years and two months in prison for preparing an aggravated violent crime and firearm offenses, noting that she also faced a forensic mental health assessment.

BREAKING: Annunciation Catholic School shooting

As per recent news reports, this still being brought to light due to the ongoing investigation and recency of the event. However this is the second Catholic school targeted in a shooting this week alone in Minneapolis. The only information of the shooter we have is that he was a man in his early 20’s with no prior criminal history.

Response and Brief Overview:

The shooter was already found dead due to a self inflicted gunshot would by the time police had begun to enter the building, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tabaco and Firearms (ATF) were on the scene. The governor of the state has release deep sympathy as well as the president on social media. The school had a mass scheduled at 8:15 AM (CDT), the shooting happening before 8:30 AM. The gunman came in through the side of the building while shooting through the schools windows, shooting students and church-goers respectively. He was able to fully use one of his magazines and reload, all three weapons were used in the attack.

3 were found dead on the scene (including the perpetrator) and 17 are injured (14 being children) with 7-2 (shaky reports) children reportedly being under critical condition

Gunman Information:

Weapons used in the attack were (reportedly) a Semi Automatic Rifle, a shotgun and a pistol. The gunman (Robert Westman) wore black and had homemade explosives on his person but none were actually found on campus. Police are still looking for a motive while they have confirmed the gunman had no connection to the school. They are currently searching his car, being parked outside the school.

This is all currently under investigation so information may still be shaky.
