Sexual Assaulter Andrew Cuomo resorting to early 2000s islamophobia to shut out a socialist Muslim, and a number of democrats would still tell you that Cuomo is the more reasonable choice.

What could people possibly mean by "I support abortion only in extreme cases"?
If something is growing inside of you that you don't want there, that's pretty damn extreme.

A Leftist Moral Panic is What We Need Right Now
In the last couple of years, we have been witness to some major turnarounds on a global scale. Some of the most prominent have been Donald Trump winning the US elections, the rise of pro-life marches throughout the Transatlantic, the erasure of transgender people and their legacy from Stonewall justified by token white gay conservatives, the Israeli genocide upon the Palestinian people, Russia's invasion of Ukraine, and the EU's uprising of alt-right ideologies. In the fog of political apathy and instant gratification, what we need right now is a leftist moral panic! It is only appropriate for people to feel a sense of existential dread.
It is no news that people are overworked and absolutely underpaid. Receiving wages that have changed by the cents while the prices grow by the dollars. Many consumers are resorting to low-quality products to survive. It should have been an instant dealbreaker for the laypeople when dignified housing became out of reach for the working class. The assassination done by Luigi Mangione was merely one of the first major symptoms of a people reaching after extreme solutions to have their voices be heard. People who sympathized with him were mostly people who could barely afford access to universal healthcare. People are working two jobs to be able to pay for insurance in the US. It is only a matter of time before people start heading for the streets and protesting.
Meanwhile in the EU, the president of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced they are buying weapons and military vehicles en masse. This came about in a total of an estimated 120 billion euros. Compare it with 40 billion euros annually to end world hunger. The weapons would be used in defense against any potential Russian invasion while sending funds to the Israeli government - one of many examples of double standards. Besides, funding a war is a disguised strategy for ROI (return on investment) alongside cultural imperialism through globalism. Meanwhile, people in need are only secondary unless it shows signs of ROI.
However, there is still hope thanks to the upsurge of post-colonial studies and critical theory. Despite all the noise and violence, there will stand an intellectual resistance to willful ignorance. To fully mobilize these ideas, we need to activate a leftist moral panic and decommodify and devillainize the radicalization of thought through empathy and critical consciousness. We need to make what used to be perceived as radical and abstract into something tangible and beneficial. Educate people through the language of the commoner and encourage people to take a stance against injustices that once seemed so "unchangeable." Together, we have the power to make today a better tomorrow.
