you don't understand. ed is gonna come back and NO ONE is gonna have faith in him. lucius thinks he's "just broken". his crew certainly believe he's gone completely mad. even izzy who never stopped believing in him has lost all faith in him, saying "he's a wild dog and we dealt with him like one". and least of all ed believes he could ever be redeemed enough to make it worth trying. and along will come stede and say i have tracked down all of your crimes and seen all your atrocities and i still know that at heart you're gentle and kind. i have sailed across the ocean to find you with the help of lists of everything you've done by people who want you dead for it and i still have faith in you. i've seen who you long to be and you can never hide that person from me again.
