Holey! Purse straps are long! This one has a buckle so it's even longer.
I haven't made a purse strap before, nor have I ever done buckles. I hope this all goes well. 21cm of stitching left for this piece before I add the swivel clip.
200cm of stitching to go on the next.

Note to self: Stitches that average 1mm long are TOO MUCH MAN.

Said fuck it and pulled out my old desk/table to cut the strap I need.

Sometimes, it's not about how good the tool is. It's about how well you use it.

Then again, I have noticed that the very top knob seems to come out too far and push against the leather. This makes it very difficult to keep moving straight.
(That's what I get for buying from scAmazon)

Planning on trying this, once I catch up on all my projects.

My bunny likes to sleep near me, even if I'm using a hammer.

It's freaking adorable.

Figured I'll try makeshifting my own stitching pins, to hold my project together as I go.

Hopefully it'll work out. Decided to start my attempt by using pins, eraser bits and spare earring backings.

Today, we replaced the red thing with a new maul! 😊
Swinging the maul is SO much nicer than that dollarstore mallet thing!!

I always love a good upgrade!

Since I (currently) only craft for those I know, I write little affirmations/hopes/wishes/prayers in hidden parts of my leather goods.

These are belt loops for a man's belt pouch. He has these qualities, I think, but my hope is to reinforce them.

While working on a present for my sister's bf, I opened a Christmas gift and got myself with the longest needle I've ever seen! It didn't hurt, even when removing it. Which weirded me out.

It arrived with a jewelry repair kit, but I have zero clue what you use a 12cm (4¾in) needle for. The eye itself is only 3mm long.

Having completed the first zippered pocket, I was really excited and got my first flapped 3D pocket done.

I didn't expect holes in the bottom corners, but I'm sure my sister can handle it.
Now this is one whole panel done!
This is the first purse I'm making with most of the necessary tools, so it's coming along quickly. It'd be faster if I had a workbench, or knew how to use a fabric sewing machine....but fast isn't what's important.

In the last few days of 2023, I made my very first zippered pocket!
The image turned out to have weird colouring, so I'll have to figure out what happened there. Otherwise, this pocket was super easy!

Note to self: read the reviews thoroughly before getting an intermediate pattern as a beginner.

This pattern is from Echopic on etsy.
They forgot to add pocket patterns for the 3 inner pockets. They also only briefly mention the bag strap size within the assembly instructions, which I found to be a minor inconvenience.
It would have been a bigger inconvenience, had I not bought twice the amount of leather required.
