my contribution to make a terrible comic day. let this be a lesson to you: a comic can be made by anyone, about anything, made of anything. as long as it contains gay furries.

apparently i never posted this! this was a little character design experiment i did ~2022. they designs are based on characters from my first na/no/wri/mo attempt back in highschool, about a group of very different kids brought together by an ability to animate and communicate with toys. never rly did much with the story but i still have a certain fondness for the characters.
now that nano's gone down the tubes, idk theres smth bittersweet abt thinking back on them...

Let's learn about animals!
This furry fellow is called a bear. Bears can be most easily identified by their bright coloration, upright posture, and the unique fur pattern on their bellies.
Bears come in two known variations: type A and type B. Type A bears are known for their short, velvety fur and round features, and have been found to be quite docile and friendly, if unintelligent, creatures. However, a type A bear is still a wild animal and are not to be kept as pets, as these bears may suddenly metamorphose into their larger and more dangerous counterparts at any time.
In comparison, type B bears express a more muted coloration and can grow up to eight feet in height. Type Bs are big eaters, as well as highly territorial and aggressive to those it sees as a threat. Even before reaching their full stature on day six of their metamorphosis, the loss of saturation in their coat, which in type As is a necessary evolutionary tactic to warn off predators, shows that these bears are no pushovers.
Contrary to commonly held beliefs of the past, type A bears are not simply the young offspring, or "cubs", of type Bs. While it's true all bears start out as type As, some bears may go their entire lives without metamorphosing, while some others undergo this change very early in life. Furthermore, in tests where metamorphosed and un-metamorphosed subjects of the same species were introduced in captivity, type Bs continued to attack type As indiscriminately whether they had been previously acquainted or not, seeming not to recognize them as one of their own kind. Research is still ongoing as to just what the relationship is between these two subgroups, and what if anything triggers the change from a type A to a type B.
Bears are quite the fascinating creature, and yet they've become an increasingly common presence over the years, inhabiting woodlands all throughout the northern hemisphere. While a spike of hunting and trapping these majestic animals for their valuable pelts, as well as for ritual purposes in certain areas of North America, once threatened to thin their numbers almost to extinction, the bear's ability to reproduce asexually and yield up to six vibrant rainbow cubs in a single litter has allowed the species to persist even under the harshest conditions.
Animal Fun Fact: No two bears have the exact same set of markings, and may have evolved these strange symbols as a means of communicating amongst their kind, identifying their lineage, rank, and temperament to any other bears they come across.
