Staff Spotlight: Meet Veeren (Victor) Bagga who is Crash Lawyers' current Summer/Fall Student. He is a dual degree holder, having previously obtained his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S.) degree in 2011, and has recently completed his Juris Doctorate (JD) in 2022, from Bond University, Australia. He has a keen interest in personal injury law, and in particular, focusing on clients who suffer from TMJ (temporomandibular joint) disorders or pain, as this is in line with both of his degrees and academic history. During his time in Australia, Victor was never shy of the spotlight. He was involved in moot court sessions, as well as recorded & in person presentations over the duration of his time there. Victor also travelled around Australia during his stay, and was a part of many activities such as skydiving over Whitsunday Islands, and snorkeling in the Great Barrier Reef. Victor has many years of customer service experience from his previous roles as a team lead for a multi-national marketing company. With his customer service experience, Victor aims to ensure that our clients feel at ease, and have a full understanding of what is happening throughout the entire process of their claim. Outside of work, Victor enjoys listening to music, dancing, playing video games, and watching movies/sports at home. Victor is always up for a challenge, whether that be in the great outdoors, or in the Court room. Staff Spotlight: Meet Katie, our head paralegal and office manager. Katie was born in Calgary, Alberta, but was raised in Newfoundland and Labrador and therefore considers herself an honorary Newfie. Katie graduated from Memorial University of St. John’s in 2016, with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in History and English Literature. In 2017, she returned to Calgary and completed the Legal Assistant Diploma Program at Bow Valley College in 2019. Katie has been a member of the Crash Lawyers team since 2018. She began working as a Legal Assistant and is now both an assistant and the Office Manager. Katie loves to learn and is always looking for new opportunities to connect and grow. She enjoys being able to help clients who are injured and is committed to making all clients feel welcome and understood. Lawyer Spotlight: Meet Nitin aka Nick. Nick is a Senior Counsel (litigation) at Crash Lawyers. Nitin loves his general litigation practice with focus on personal injury, medical malpractice, estate planning, and litigation matters. Nitin is a Dual Qualified Lawyer in Alberta (2017) and India (2010) with experience both in trial and appellate jurisdiction matters. Nitin obtained his law degree from prestigious Delhi University, India (2010) and Master of Laws degree from the University of Calgary (2015). He is a published author, an avid blogger, and public speaker. Nitin is deeply connected with the local community and practice the Canadian value of “paying it forward” through his volunteering activities as a Mentor for Internationally Trained Lawyers at Calgary Region Immigrant Employment Council (CRIEC), and as a Director at Rocky Mountain Civil Liberties Association (RMCLA). Staff Spotlight: Meet one of our legal assistants, Rafia. She was raised in Calgary, Alberta and a graduate of Bow Valley College in the Legal Assistant Program. She enjoys downtime with family and binges on movies as much as she can. She also is an avid traveller and plans to someday explore the world, if given the opportunity. Rafia embraces our core value empathy because she never lets anyone leave without feeling good about themselves and builds genuine connections with coworkers and clients. Rafia started working with Crash Lawyers in 2021 as a Legal Assistant. She brings 7 years of customer experience in a legal firm. Staff Spotlight: Meet Cindy, our values receptionist and client care specialist. Cindy ventured out to Calgary in the 80’s from a small town in Ontario. She worked downtown in corporate law for oil and gas companies over a span of 30+ years. She brings with her lots of diverse experience as she has had to “wear many hats” over the years. Greeting and making clients feel comfortable are important aspects of her position, which also embraces our core value of empathy.
