Decided to call my horrortale au "where pain is called hunger" (def didn't choose this because of the song Gato Cerveja by kamaitachi, trust)

The general gist would be that after so much time, the underground get's too full, and the core is unable to power everything, so it starts to slowly deteriorate.

It starts with the weather. Some places get colder, some hotter. The snowy part of the underground starts to get too cold. People start to use more heavy winter clothing, they don't get out of their homes like before.

The hot parts get too warm and places like Alphys's lab have to be evacuated to somewhere else because the metal, plants and her things start to slowly melt or die as the temperature rises.

The only safe places are waterfall because the water comes from the outside of Mt. Ebott and New Home.

And then, it goes to food. It starts to wilt. When people planted seeds, they would sprout, but never grow. The only way to get food is if you harvest the sprouts, but their magic is too little to keep the whole underground fed.

And then, it goes to electricity. The undernet is down and no one can acess it. The clocks stopped in time, the TVs don't turn on anymore, the fridges don't work anymore, only a few people can still use magic for electricity, but they still need to use it with caution.
