[[Conceptual art for an unused Nightmare Before Christmas dark ride by Christopher Meritt. Guests would enter through the Halloween door tree seen from the opening and board a coffin sleigh, winding their way through Halloween Town. It’s marked location would have been Fantasyland and use a similar ride system like Peter Pan’s Flight, a suspended omnimover.

The ride was scrapped in favor of The Haunted Mansion’s seasonal overlay, and much of it’s concepts transferred to the overlay instead. Christopher Meritt has also worked on other scrapped ideas, such as Discovery Bay, a land inspired by Jules Verne and H.G Wells, which would be behind Frontierland. Discovery Bay’s concepts were put into Disneyland Paris’s Discoveryland and Tokyo Disneysea’s Mysterious Island. Another scrapped concept was an off-road race ride in Critter Country.

Haunted Mansion Holiday, or any other NBC-related concept remains high in demand for Walt Disney World.]]
