It’s a spicy tuna kimbap kinda day! Sriracha and mayo mixed with wild caught canned tuna, thin sliced cucumbers, celery, kimchi, pickled ginger, green onion, and wasabi paste on sesame oil rice, rolled in nori!
Did you know the major difference between kimbap and sushi is that sushi rice is made with vinegar and kimbap is made with sesame oil? Kimbap also traditionally does not feature raw fish, but cooked meat or just vegetables. The more you know!

Breakfast was curry-ish, soup-ish, goodness. Half a can of coconut cream, bone broth, ground beef, beans, and heaps of veggies with curry seasoning and extra ginger and turmeric. All boiled down in my cast iron. With my decaf coffee, eaten while I study birthing class certifications.

More… stuff in a bowl 😂 ground beef, black and red beans, red bell pepper, and cabbage with pickle sauerkraut and pickles… honestly idk what I’m doing today, just trying to get by. With a triple Berry kombucha in party cups bc my toddler thinks they’re way cool.

Breakfast was basically a bunch of green vegetables, beef sausage, and ground beef throw in the cast iron with some bone broth. I still wasn’t feeling 100% this morning so I opted for soup. With kimchi and pickles of course, bc I’m not sure what I’d be without my ferments at this point. Also a mango La Croix, bc flat water just wasn’t cutting it this morning.

Sweet potatoes. My favorite edible bowls. There’s not much I’m not willing to put in a potato honestly. They can even be dessert!
This sweet potato was stuffed with beef sausage, onion, carrot, celery, mushrooms, and spinach. I ate it and did some yoga and stretching to relieve my severe bloating/cramping from eating junk this weekend, then laid in bed for most of the day. I felt like garbage so this is pretty much all I ate. I had a bowl of butternut squash soup before bed but that was by force, my husband did not want me to starve lol

Day 3 of everyone being sick 🥲 I’m ready to sleep for a week. Lunch today was beef, sausage, rice, and veggies with lettuce, cucumber, pickled ginger, and kimchi, with a few kimchi pickles.. I swear I eat things other than kimchi, sometimes. It’s just the current obsession of this baby I’m growing, so I obviously must comply.

I’m not even sure what to call this, honestly, but it filled the void. It’s a heap load of veg, some sausage and and egg with quinoa and furikake seasoning topped with sesame oiled brown rice noodles and kimchi.
I’m aware that’s a mountain of food, I’m growing a little human and I’m consistently being told I’m not gaining enough weight 🥲

This is a rare sight in our house! All of my kids are down for the count with some sort of upper respiratory virus so no one slept well and no one has eaten a full meal since breakfast yesterday so I was hoping to boost morale and get some carbs in them.. which only kind of worked.
Gluten free brownies (with an extra egg) in the waffle maker with warm peanut butter and coconut oil, and a little syrup, topped with Trader Joe’s natural sprinkles.
The toddlers tore it up… the older kid refused to leave the bed to even look at them so we’re going with plan b and making him a smoothie.

Meet John and Jane Dough, my newest attempts at sourdough! Jane is the larger jar and she is made with a mixture of buckwheat and brown rice flours, and John is just a good ole KA un bleached bread flour kinda guy. This is day 3 with them so we’ve still got a little bit to go before I can start experimenting with recipes, but I’m excited to (hopefully) get better at sourdough this go round!
While I’m a whizz at most ferments and an above average baker in most ways, sourdough and I have never made it more than a few rounds before my ADHD kicks in and I inevitably forget to feed it for too many days and have to start over bc I couldn’t even remember to stick it in the fridge. This time will be different though, I just know it! 😅

This morning was basically a remake of yesterday’s breakfast. 2 eggs over easy, sausage coins, and greens cooked in tallow over an airfried sweet potato. I ate it while reading my book, Baby Catcher by Peggy Vincent. I spent most of the night cuddling my restless feverish toddler between bouts of my own allergy/mystery illness induced symptoms. Clocking a whopping 3 hours of sleep after the Benadryl finally kicked in, I’m exhausted today.
