Early ramblings on identity

So I've been doubting and questioning everything recently: my gender, my expression, my sexuality, my romantic interest, my undiagnosed illnesses etc, and since I can't remember the last time I felt like a human, and have been informally considering myself not human for a few years, I decided to look into Otherkin stuff at my angel girlfriend's suggestion.

I periodically go through phases where I love meat, gore, bones, etc and insist on wanting to eat red meat.

I love cats but I am simply not one in disposition. That being said, I'm not FULLY dog... I think I'm something in the shape of a black german shephard-- or some other kind of large, black dog or wolf-- I do not know what I am under the animal skin, but I am in the shape of a dog and get affirmed from wearing dog ears and stuff.

I don't yet know how to define this identity, nor am I sure I want to. I'm scared of being rejected and hurt by the otherkin or therian communities (etc) like I am by human society.

Dozens of Google employees began occupying company offices in New York City and Sunnyvale, California, on Tuesday in protest of the company’s $1.2 billion contract providing cloud computing services to the Israeli government. The sit-in, organized by the activist group No Tech for Apartheid, is happening at Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian’s office in Sunnyvale and the 10th floor commons of Google’s New York office. The sit-in will be accompanied by outdoor protests at Google offices in New York, Sunnyvale, San Francisco, and Seattle beginning at 2 pm ET and 11 am PT. Tuesday’s actions mark an escalation in a series of recent protests organized by tech workers who oppose their employer’s relationship with the Israeli government, especially in light of Israel’s ongoing assault on Gaza. Just over a dozen people gathered outside Google’s offices in New York and Sunnyvale on Tuesday. Among those in New York was Google cloud software engineer Eddie Hatfield, who was fired days after disrupting Google Israel’s managing director at March’s Mind The Tech, a company-sponsored conference focused on the Israeli tech industry, in early March. Several hours into the sit-ins on Tuesday, Google security began to accuse the workers of “trespassing” and disrupting work, prompting several people to leave while others vowed to remain until they were forced out. The 2021 contract, known as Project Nimbus, involves Google and Amazon jointly providing cloud computing infrastructure and services across branches of the Israeli government. Last week, Time reported that Google’s work on Project Nimbus involves providing direct services to the Israel Defense Forces. No Tech for Apartheid is a coalition of tech workers and organizers with MPower Change and Jewish Voice for Peace, which are respectively Muslim- and Jewish-led peace-focused activist organizations. The coalition came together shortly after Project Nimbus was signed and its details became public in 2021.

I saw a post complaining about white people assuming their culture is unanimous when it's really just *White People Stuff* (Not complaining, the person made some good points) but I think it brings up some interesting contradictions to what I'd assumed: White north americans are often said to have "no shared culture", which I believed, but that arguing point would imply that we do have culture...

This isn't any sort of "Gotcha" moment, I'm just genuinely pondering what it means to grow up ambiguously white with no singular/primary European heritage.

Shitty people are blaming him for using a surgeon who doesn’t provide photos, but that’s not always possible :/ I, for example, have Kaiser and they don’t provide photos for any of their surgeons so it’s all either on faith, or by digging through reviews. If this doctor had decent reviews overall and seemed competent I don’t blame him for trusting a medical professional.

Two mass graves were discovered on Monday in northern Gaza by the Health Ministry and the Civil Defense Forces, Al Jazeera reported — one which included patients from al-Shifa Hospital and another which contained 20 members of the same family killed in Beit Lahiya. At al-Shifa hospital, which suffered a devastating raid that left most of the complex in ruins, health officials discovered nine bodies before halting recovery operations from fear of being targeted by Israeli drones that hovered in the skies above them as they were digging, the Qatari news outlet stated. According to the report, some of the recovered bodies — which had not fully decomposed, indicating they were killed recently — appear to have been patients at the hospital; they still had medical bandages and catheters attached to them. Medical staff and family members identifying the bodies confirmed this. Survivors of the Israeli army’s assault on the hospital said they witnessed the summary execution of Palestinians by Israeli forces during the raid, which started in mid-March and lasted two weeks.

The fact I’m hearing about OFMD fans in particular trying to cook up the idea that anyone hunger striking for Palestine is suffering from some kind of disordered eating is really insulting and screams thinly veiled racism, as someone who’s struggled with disordered eating in the past.

The main difference between disordered eating and hunger strikes is hunger strikes are often done safely and with the consultation of a doctor. From what I’m seeing, people who’re going on hunger strikes have a date set as to when their strike will end, it’s not done indefinitely. It’s planned out, it’s safe, and they’re clear goals in mind. I don’t see y’all kicking up this much of a fuss when white gym bros or athletes go on extreme diets in order to achieve their ideal body type, so what exactly is the issue here?
