i don't actually want it to happen in the show because i'd have to hear about how angry and abusive dean is but man. i think he has every right to scream at cas through tears that if you love someone you don't leave them and how could cas do that to him

The fact that Dean is already expressing a desire to leave the life and be done with hunting in s2e9 just crushes my soul entirely. He hasn’t hit the tip of the iceberg as far as shit he’s going to go through. He’s just a baby trying his best to care for his brother and he has so much awful stuff ahead of him. Oh Dean Winchester, I ache for you.

Cas didn’t know Dean loved him because he never saw how broken Dean was whenever he was gone. Cas thought Dean only thought of him or cared about him when he needed him for something. He just didn’t know that Dean needs him all the time, just so he can live.

Today, Castiel lays in his bed and appreciates just how much his life has changed in such a relatively short amount of time. He pulls a blanket over himself, still sometimes needing to remind himself that he is now allowed simple comforts and desires that are so uniquely human. He shifts to a more comfortable position and closes his eyes. Although he does not strictly need sleep, sometimes he just wants to take a nap, and that's okay.

I crave seeing Dean embrace Cas for the first time after the confession/Cas' death.

I need to see him cry as he holds Cas.

I need to see him get weak in his knees from emotion, but this time Cas is there to support him.

I need to see the relief Dean feels. And all the other emotions overflowing in him.

Just imagine all the things he was feeling while Cas was gone. I think the confession would make him realize just how much he lost.

Now imagine all of that flooding back to him at once.

every time I think about how terrible of an ending dean and cas got i remind myself that they could always fire misha, recast castiel to a woman, say he "changed his vessel", and make destiel canon as straight. Suddenly the ending isn't so bad anymore.
