crows in greek myth are associated with apollo, and used as messengers in the mortal world. 

mythology au bran who’s the chthonic (? i’m still deciding) god of crows and prophesy. he’s thought of as a bad omen, often one of death, but really he’s just...a messenger. and a lot of his messages happen to be of the morbid type when he delivers his prophesies.
