This is what happens when you rush everything, you end up with a convoluted narrative that makes no sense.

Hazbin fans, you do realize that simply saying that "So and so plot point actually makes sense if you read the fan wiki" isn't a good defense of the show's writing, right?

Fan wikis are fine if you need a refresher on a certain character or story line, but they shouldn't be used to fill in the blanks.

The story is clearly rushed and the world building is awful. Season one's story felt like a condensed version of a thirteen episode season.

Telling me to "Go read the wiki" whenever I point out something that doesn't make sense from a narrative stand point doesn't fix the show's problems. If anything, it makes them even worse because Viv didn't put that much effort into fleshing any of the story elements out when it came to the writing.

Viv just wants to see her favorite characters make out with each other or fuck, that is literally the only thing she cares about.

It's funny how all the female centered episodes weren't written by her, even though this is the quote and quote "Female focused show."

And notice how Angel Dust is a lot more tolerable when he isn't written to be a sex obsessed twink.

Is Hazbin Hotel the worst animated show I've watched recently? No, there are plenty of other terrible shows that a way worse than this. And if I'm being brutally honest, I do think that this show can be decent if Viv didn't oversee everything. But as it stands right now, it's another show that squandered what little potential it had.

Still, if I was given a choice between binge watching the entirety of Hazbin Hotel season one or rewatching both seasons of Helluva Boss, I'd pick Hazbin Hotel without hesitation.

I hate how un-nuanced hazbin sees abuse as. Like stolas coercing blitz into sex by taking advantage of his lower racial status putting his business in danger is fine, actual abuse is valentino rapes and slaps angel while holding him on a leash, and slaps him around in front of other people.

Similarly, when dealing with the knowledge that your friend is abused, there is literally no point in-between “grinding the abuser into a paste resembling orange pulp” and “doing literally fucking nothing and apologizing for having ever tried to do anything”.

And why did they have that scene of her apologizing like this was a children’s show and she had thrown him a party he didn’t want. I just want to play that scene out of context to a stranger and reveal to them “no she’s actually apologizing because she walked in on him filming a gay porno and it caused his pimp, who forced him into porn using magic so he can’t quit, to smack him about it, and she’s sorry she showed up or tried to intervene when she saw him being beaten. This is not an edgy parody, those were serious plot points we’re supposed to care about and these are things she fully understands, even though this is how she reacts.” like fucking hell this show is a mess.

I find it interesting how people will write cquackity and cranboos relationship. When they interacted originally, Quackity really disliked ranboo and wanted him killed. Now I’ll see content where the creator just want Quackity to protect bench trio and it’s so out of character. I feel like I see no one talk about their actual dynamic and it’s kinda annoying.

i think its cool to give characters fun pronouns but it starts getting weird when people start giving the cc's different pronouns than what they go by. like i have seen multiple people using she/her for cc!scar. like actual real life human scar. like??? hello? that is a whole person.

I have made 41 papercrafts of various mcyters and I am nowhere near being done my goal is 100 at least. I don’t have enough room for them. They’re balanced all around my bedroom.
