A History Lesson...

It was the year 5838 E3, the Era of Prosperity. An unidentified spacecraft landed on the celestial body then called Roseus 1. From the craft came forth a race of organic beings called humans. This band of humans were a scouting unit and they were seeking a new home for their race. After some deliberation, the Gem leaders complied and were able to give the humans habitable planets for their kind.

The humans were in turn grateful after finally finding a home after so many years of traversing the stars. Once they were given the planets, the scout humans went to work to build homes for the others. Construction Gems aided in their efforts, learning of mankind’s culture and spreading that knowledge out to other Gems.

While some were worried of the inevitable clash between cultures, others were still fascinated by a race with many diversities of culture and longed to learn more.

After years of construction, cities were completed, ready for new occupants.

Then, the day arrived for the rest of the human race to arrive at their new home. Everyone was at attendance of the anticipated arrival. And arrived they did, hundreds of ships containing carbon-based life.

It was such a joyous day.

But…the humans attacked.

The ships were not for passengers and goods, but for soldiers and weapons. The Gems, including the Diamonds, were caught off guard as the surprise army opened fire, many Gems were shattered or poofed. While a military fleet was at the ready incase of an emergency, they had not anticipated such an attack because, somehow, the Sapphires had not foreseen this! Despite this…the readied fleet was vastly outnumbered by the humans…and the Gems were forced to retreat.

As they recovered from the shock, the Gems enacted plans and operations to fight back. Valiant in their efforts…it was all for not as the Diamonds, one by one, got captured by their new enemy.

This ended Era 3 and began Era 4, the Era of Subjugation.

The perpetrators behind the assaults were an organization called the Lucipher Alliance Federation.

They were not searching for a new home. They were seeking to expand their empire. They had already taken control of a few neighboring planetary systems and wished to do the same with the Gems’…the Gemma Binary System.

Despite their resolve and powerful soldiers of their own, the Gems were outmatched, the Diamonds were subdued and captured, and the rest of Gemkind were forced to comply with the humans.

And…just when the idea of harmonious existence was thought to be a fairy tale…a band of humans rose against their own kind. They called themselves the Homeworld Rebellion. Humans who despised the conflict caused by their ancestors and wish to put an end to it. Not just for their own sake, but for the sake of Gemkind as well.

Battles of all kinds waged between the Federation and the Rebellion. From it, Gemkind also started to fight back, joining the Rebellion. More – be it humans or Gems – dared to join, wanting nothing more than to free all subjected to the Federation’s control.

After a long, hard fought battle, the Rebellion manages to free the Diamonds and push back the Federation and its allies out of the Gemma Binary System.

Despite their ancestors being affiliated with the Federation once upon a time, the humans of the Rebellion were free to stay in the GBS.

It took awhile for a new sense of normalcy to emerge, but through consideration, patience, and understanding, Gem and Mankind were able to find the harmony needed to coexist and flourished anew…
