It's crazy how many people use Death of the Author to mean "separating the art from the artist" when it's actually not supposed to have anything to do with who the author is as a person and is supposed to be about the idea that the author's interpretation of their own work should not be seen as the definitive, correct opinion on that work. Like you're not supposed to invoke Death of the Author when JK Rowling devotes her entire life and fortune to transphobia, you're supposed to invoke it when Trent Reznor says Closer by Nine Inch Nails isn't a sex song.

Mine is "Coyotes will NOT take your pets EVER!!!"
#stellar facebook posts of two types of people arguing#one side says coyotes are completely harmless and ignorant humans are going to eradicate them#the other side says thats tree hugger BS and the only good coyote is a dead coyote#yall#acknowledging coyotes as a threat does not mean you don't respect and love them#it is also literally impossible to eradicate them but also they don't need to be killed on sight#there is some actual weird harmful anthropomorphizing in opposing factual observations of animals#because by human standards that behavior would be considered immoral#and animals dont do evil things#there is no evil in nature#coyotes don't lure away and kill people's dogs because they're evil#it's because they're hungry and extremely adaptable hunters#and nature hurts your feelings sometimes#i fucking love coyotes and i dont trust them in the slightest
