I'm Kat, a recent college graduate with some time on her hands. I like to read books and drink tea, especially together (although it can get dangerous).

Hello friends!
Woah, first post on a new blog! I feel like I should smash a champagne bottle on my computer to christen it, but I think that my computer might not appreciate it. Still, I’m excited!
Why am I starting this blog, you ask? Well, I graduated from undergrad in spring 2015 and I moved across the country a couple of months ago to a new state where I don’t know anyone for a new job. A grand adventure, right? Kind of. It’s exciting and interesting living in a completely different place, but the not-knowing-anyone-thing has been getting me down a little bit. I like my job, but I pretty much work alone, so it’s hard to make friends. Consequently, I’ve been doing a lot of reading in my spare time to try to make fictional friends instead. This has been fun, but I realized something today.
I have feelings. *cue gasps*
I have feelings about these books that I want to share with other people. Since there aren’t a lot of people around with whom to talk about these feelings, I thought that I would put them on here to get the thoughts out of my brain.
Did I major in English in college? Did I minor in it? Am I trying to get a job in the publishing industry? Is my job related to books? Nope, nope, nope, and nope. I haven’t taken an English class since high school, but I have consistently read about 60 new books a year for the past 9 years or so. I just like it. I have feelings about what I like and what makes me want to run the book over with a herd of stampeding rhinos, and I thought it would be fun to share them.
So, this blog is to give you my thoughts on these books. I’m not an expert, and I will try not to be influenced by other reviewers. I’m all over the place in terms of what type of genres I read, so there will be a quite a bit of variety in book genres. I will post reviews when I finish the books, which depends on how long the book is and how interesting it is.
I’m going to tell you when a book is my cup of tea, and when I wish that I never tried that particular blend.
I hope that you will come on this journey with me!
Until next book,
Kat
