thinking about how, despite some of the horrors of fame, taylor actually likes that she’s the taylor swift, and she has finally found someone who also likes that she’s the taylor swift. she doesn’t have to try and shrink, or twist into a pretzel because he doesn’t make her feel too big to hang out

it's everything that was going on behind the curtain. my main goals were melodies that were so infectious that you're almost angry at it and lyrics that are just as vivid but crisp and focused and completely intentional. so its like, I feel like we actually came together in a beautiful way, the 3 of us, shellback, max and I. we had a conversation about how max was like 'I loved folklore, I loved the storytelling on folklore. I don't want this to change just because we're making these infectious anthems, I dont want you to leave that behind' and I was like 'I couldn't even if I tried.' I'm married to that kind of writing. it was amazing that we were able to do this without doing too much overthinking. we were able to get in there, and it was just ideas flying and all of these ideas were like we've been waiting years to come back and do this project. the life of a showgirl, out oct. 3rd 2025

thinking about so high school and taylor calling travis a human exclamation point and comparing him to a color enhance button and how in the past it seemed like she thought love was supposed to be dramatic and messy almost, but with him she found that it could be joyous and easy and idk i just love that for her

Ever since i was a little girl taylor has been teaching me about falling in all types of love. All of us have watched her fall in and out of love for years and the music thats come from it has wrapped us in warm hugs and real comfort. Thats why seeing her get engaged after all this time makes me so emotional, happy and excited for her. Idc how parasocial it may seem, this girl has been with me through every step of life and witnessing her own story unfold has felt really special🥺

I write a lot of songs about love and I think that’s because to me love seems like this huge complicated thing. But it seems like every once in a while, two people get it figured out, two people get it right. And so I think the rest of us, we walk around daydreaming about what that might be like. To find that one great love, where all of a sudden everything that seemed to be so complicated, became simple. And everything that used to seem so wrong all of a sudden seemed right because you were with the person who made you feel fearless.
