people know what they’re doing. there is an intrinsic human knowledge of how relationships & friendships are meant to work. you don’t need to teach them how to treat you like a person. yes, there is a learning curve to every relationship where you learn how to mesh with each other, but you should not have to advocate for being treated with basic human decency.

nobody brings enough to the table for you to willingly put up with mistreatment. if you are safe to leave, then this is optional, and you have a one-up over them in this situation. don’t threaten to leave, just go. even that is a waste of your time. they should already know how to treat other people like they’re human. there is no excuse.

y'know i've been hearing some talks about quanxi being a predator because not only is her polycule made up of fiends who look really young but also that she acts weirdly towards minami in buddy stories. what are your thoughts on it?

I believe this is kind of stupid to entertain, sorry. Her girlfriends don’t look young at all, Fujimoto draws all women looking the same at 20 years old no matter if they’re a teenager or not, so the very idea she somehow looks older baffles me and is a reach beyond reaches. Her behavior with Minami is quite problematic, but at the end of the day, it is not canon.

I like the novel quite a bit for its characterization of Kishibe, but I do not tend to use non-canon material to crucify characters for poor behavior, especially a character with as little material as Quanxi. In my opinion, it is OOC for her to act that way [and even Kishibe, to an extent in his behavior with her seemed quite strange and overzealous] so I do not acknowledge it. I think it played on stereotypes of lesbian predators, or perhaps the Fujimoto stereotype of female predators, that just was not congruent with the way Quanxi acted— a very devoted, selfless woman who did prioritize carnal pleasure but also, much more —- personal autonomy.

So you can see why those actions don’t make sense for the little we know of her.
