On Subspace’s Poison

I’ve been wanting to make a post on Subspace’s rot/poison for a while, kind of in a headcanon sense but also more as in understanding how it affects his body. In here I will be using medical terms and conditions that I’ve researched but If I use a word incorrectly or get facts wrong please feel free to correct! Alright, let’s go!

Subspace’s gas is a slightly acidic irritant, which damages any soft tissues it comes into contact with, an example being the eyes. In general any exposure to it can make your skin feel like it’s burning.

Small doses via inhalation or exposure don't have long term affects, which is why the others in phights aren’t actively decomposing like Subspace, but long term exposure is dangerous.

The spread of the poison’s effects begin when it’s breathed in. An immediate noticeable side effect is burning in the trachea and lungs, but the poison also gets into the bloodstream this way. If this continues over an extended period of time smaller capillaries/veins/arteries die as the poison builds up, and the subsequent lack of blood flow causes necrosis such as that seen on Subspace’s arm and jaw. Any place where the irritant builds up also tints pink due to the concentration (Mostly in the extremities.) Blood also passes through the heart with the irritant which damages its tissues as well.

Nerves in the brain become damaged if enough spread is allowed and depending on where it is targeted there can be a variety of issues including mood issues, decreased motor function, forgetfulness, and more. The combination of difficult blood flow and decreased communication to the brain can also easily cause muscle atrophy.

To make it short, Subspace in his current state has difficulty breathing and most likely is affected by chronic bronchitis due to the damage he has sustained from the poison. Necrosis is due to build up of poison in small veins which causes them to die and prevents blood flow to cells. The spread of the substances to the brain also slowly rot neurons which leads to problems with mood, motor functions, and memory.

Yeah fair to say i personally think Subspace is Phightings biggest sufferer besides Medkit.
