Mubarak Bin Saif AlThani’s poem became Qatar’s National Anthem.
"Swearing by God who upraised the sky, Swearing by God who spread the light, Qatar will always be free, Elevated by the spirits of the loyal, Follow the path of the ancestors, And the prophets guidance. In my heart, Qatar is an epic of dignity and glory, Qatar is the land of the early men, Who protect us at time of distress, Doves they can be at times of peace, Warriors they are at times of sacrifice."
- Mubarak bin Saif al Thani
AlSALAM ALAMIRI

The Outcome Towards The Blockade
During an interview conducted by myself, about how to deal with The Blockade on a Qatari citizen. I have interviewed AlDana Ibrahim Al Shamlan, a Northwestern Communications Student during our lunch hour in the LRC. The interview took approximately 15 minutes for all the information to be gathered. There were details that were summarized during the interview, and their were different point of views while addressing the issue. The purpose of this interview is how to deal with the blockade, and how major effects can be a positive impact.
Interviewer: How did the blockade affect you, as a Qatari Citizen?
AlDana: It has affected me in various ways, both positive and negative.
Interviewer: Starting with the negative, what was the impact?
AlDana: As being half Qatari and half Bahraini, I did not get to see my family members for so long, including my own mother.
Interviewer: Although there are other ways to get to these countries/
AlDana: True, but it feels different. I personally feel unwanted.
Interviewer: How did you deal with the issue this time?
AlDana: Built a stronger relationship with my family members abroad.
Interviewer: In what forms?
AlDana: We have all gathered in Kuwait City to meet up, as we know that politics cannot keep us away from our beloved ones.
Interviewer: In your opinion, what was the positive impact while dealing with the blockade?
AlDana: As mentioned, we have built a stronger relationship with our families, in other words we are wiser as we know who is with and against us.
Interviewer: What about the fake news you hear about Qatar from different news outlets?
AlDana: As we all know, news channels have been blocked from the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Bahrain.
Interviewer: That being mentioned, what does it mean?
AlDana: It means that they do not want their citizens to know the truth, as many countries in the United Nations are with and not against us.
Interviewer: In other words do you ignore fake news?
AlDana: It does not even affect me, It has made me realise real and fake news from trusted source, like AlJazeera.
Interviewer: How about dealing with trade situations?
AlDana: Most businesses who are established here in Qatar by those countries has stopped. Which means that there was a lack of products but it turned out positive.
Interviewer: How can a lack of products turn out positive?
AlDana: Many Qatari individuals are depending on themselves in establishing their own businesses and creating more job opportunities for more people.
To conclude, the blockade has negative and positive impacts. Most importantly is that we as Qatari individuals have learned and found out who our real enemies are. The gulf nation was suppose to unite and not cut off ties with each other. Not mentioning Kuwait and Oman as part of the “ Gulf Nation” that has suspended other nations from their beloved ones.

Qatar Beyond The Blockade
The blockade has lasted for more than eight months which affected me personally, during the time I wanted to study in a law school in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates. Cutting diplomatic ties with Qatar has changed thousands of perspectives worldwide against Qatar, the media is a strong weapon that can clear the negative idea. There were various circumstances I had to face and failed to accomplish and study abroad.
According to the article published by Al Jazeera, “ Qatar: Beyond the Blockade”. The article talks about a forty-five minute film production about how the people in Qatar are living and dealing with the blockade. “ Stories like these have inspired famous Qatari actor Ghanem al-Sulaiti to come out of a years' long hiatus to write a series of satirical sketches mocking the absurdity of the blockade.” . This quote summarizes the article and how it is not affecting the citizens in general. “Lulwa al-Obaidli is a Qatari entrepreneur who has founded a number of different businesses.”
Although there had been companies that stopped importing products, Al Anoud still suffers to fulfil the products needed for her business. Therefore, there are many local business who sell similar products. The article also mentions family relations, for instance families who have cousins in the 3 countries. The countries has blocked their citizens to visit Qatar, although this can be done through a visit-visa. “ Stories like these have inspired famous Qatari actor, Ghanem al-Sulaiti,to come out of a years' long hiatus to write a series of satirical sketches mocking the absurdity of the blockade.” As the media has very strong influence on the people, these shows have been produced in order to show individuals in the other countries that we are doing well with or without those countries. These shows are produced by Qatari directors and actors.
All in all, the article published shows the positive side of Qatar. As most Qatari news channels such as Al Jazeera has been blocked from the three countries. Not all information is being published in the right way, as Qatar is accused of terrorism.
