REVIEW: Natalia Kills - Problem

Imagine: pop perfection. A pitch-perfect, ear-worm melody, with unapologetically bad-ass lyrics that ooze inimitable sass. Imagine a stuttering, stomping 90s new wave punk/rock riot grrrl drum layered over a squelching, infectious light synth. Imagine a bop unlike any in the contemporary pop scene, yet right at home among the greatest electro pop and edm jams of recent years.

Now imagine Natalia Kills-née-Candy Rapper (of Verbz and Subway Assistant Manager fame) and her newest attempt, "Problem."

This girl – has a god damn problem: not one hit to her name, chronic shade syndrome (CSS), and Interscope is about to drop her ass faster than you can say Perfloptionist. 

Serving 3 minutes and 43 seconds of Pretty Girl Rock realness, Problem is about a Mongolian transexual named Nataliette Cappuccino who is having an unsatisfactory experience with his genitals. The lyrical content catalogue's the singer's frustration at numerous doctors who have denied her reassignment surgery, before transitioning to a middle-eight explaining his embarrassment over her penis falling out of his bikini bottom after a lengthy dick flopping sesh, "we ain't even at the beach, even at the beach."

The bridge samples Bad Soulja durag Girl on Train, while the verses and chorus sample Rihanna's "Jump" and Lady Gaga's "Monster" – virtually creating an assault on the ears comparable to the sounds of explosive diarrhea and/or Nicki Minaj performing "Starships" on the Today show. 

I give it one shiblet out of five.
