Got a fire in my soul. I've lost my faith in this broken system. Got love for my home, but if we cry is there anyone listening? We're the forgotten generation. We want an open conversation. Follow me on this road, you know we gotta let go. For all of the times that they say it's impossible, they built all the hurdles, the walls, and the obstacles. When we're together, you know we're unstoppable now. I'm not afraid to tear it down and build it up again. It's not our fate, we could be the renegades.

REMEMBER US:
- six years later | 2015 -
{ ... }
insu was seated on the ground with his back against a shady tree with his eyes closed. from far away anyone normal could just think he was enjoying the weather or meditating. but if you got close enough, he was pouring in sweat and his breathing was shallow. insu was obviously very sick.
every single day since he had stood there and lied to insu had been hell for jaejin. to lose that one person who had made him feel complete and made him want to keep that bit of ‘sanity’ he had, the part that at some point had kept him from becoming some monster out for the throne. he couldn’t blame anyone but himself for what had happened back then, knowing very well that he’s the reason behind them no longer speaking to one another.
the only way he’s been able to stay ‘sane’ throughout this time was by visiting the one place that the two of them shared memories at, the one place that had the sweetest memories in which he could come to and think of whenever he felt himself missing insu. it helped keep jaejin from running to the other male and just breaking down, kept him from revealing the biggest secret he had been keeping all this time.
today was different though, as he approaches their old spot and finds insu sitting there. he almost leaves in order to not screw up what he had worked so hard on over the past few years, however as he looks closer and examines the other male, jaejin can tell that something is off. even though they hadn’t seen or spoken to one another since that night, he could tell just by observing the other male that he wasn’t okay.
this alone causes jaejin to become alarmed as he rushes over to insu’s side, gently shaking the other to try and wake him up. “insu?!” his tone is filled with panic and as he gets no response from the other male, jaejin takes it upon himself to get the other onto his back and quickly makes his way towards his own room, the closest to the two at the moment. he isn’t even thinking properly at this time, his thoughts solely on getting the other taken care of as soon as possible. he would deal with the ‘consequences’ that came later.
once he reaches the room, jaejin luckily sees his private knight coming down the hall. “hurry and open the door!” he commands, rushing inside once the door to his room is open and gently lays insu down before instructing his knight to get him a list of items before he’s finally left alone with the other male, nothing but worry filling him as he stares down at the other.

cwnjun:
nights
starter for @cwnjaejin
{ ... }
as he steps closer towards the kitchen, momentarily he wonders if the lack of sleep is slowly starting to get to him and his eyes are playing tricks. there’s a shadow –– okay, not a shadow, but a figure. and junyoung finds himself furrowing his eyebrows in confusion. okay. alright. uh… he blinks and has to rub his eyes ever so slightly with his hands. wait. was that… –– “jaejin?” he calls out, surprised to see the man standing there… making himself a snack? “prince jaejin?” he says again, unable to comprehend what was happening.
he takes a step closer and scratches his head, the surprise evident on his face. “are you… making yourself something to eat? at this time?” he asks. “is there no staff around to help you?” or was this perhaps a practice in the kingdom of hearts? either way, the last thing junyoung had expected to see at this time of night was jaejin, of all people, making himself a snack.
on the nights that insomnia happens to take over, to ruin his chances of having a good nights rest, jaejin finds himself either out on a walk or even will find himself in the kitchen, preparing himself a late-night snack. tonight is the latter, the slight bit of hunger winning in the end as he makes his way into the kitchen to begin preparing something to satisfy his growling stomache.
of course, jaejin knows that there are cooks that could easily cook for him even at times like these, however, over the years jaejin’s trust in even the staff lessened to the point where he would prefer cooking his own meals. you never know who might try poisoning your meals. that small voice in the back of his mind reminds him of this fact each time food is placed in front of him.
he’s in the process of making something simple, the aroma of the food filling the kitchen as he inhales deeply before letting out a small sigh of satisfaction, the slightest bit of a smile gracing his lips which was quite rare of an expression for him to do these days, that is unless he was putting on an act in front of others.
jaejin was so immersed in what he was doing that he hadn’t even realized someone had entered the kitchen, that is until he heard a voice calling out his name. he slowly turns to look and see who it is, eyebrow raising at the other male now with him. “oh, prince, junyoung.” he offers that same fake smile that he had grown used to using. “i am actually... ah, there are, but i sometimes prefer cooking meals myself. i didn’t want to wake anyone over something that i can easily do on my own.” his voice comes out in a friendly manner as he speaks.
“what are you doing here so late?” he questions, adding a hint of curiosity to his tone in order to not make it seem like he was trying to be rude to the younger male. “would you like to join me? i promise that i didn’t add anything harmful to it.” he jokes as he turns the stove off and moves the skillet off to the side, the meat sizzling and steaming which causes his mouth to water at just the scent of what he’s prepared.
being on the more ‘friendly’ side hadn’t been something that jaejin planned on doing this late at night, though it was easy for him to flip that little switch and act as if he didn’t mind the company. it wasn’t that junyoung was someone that jaejin hated really, though the younger was still considered competition when it came to the throne so he had to make sure that he kept his guard up even around the other.

Knives and Pens Location: kingdom of hearts a closed starter for @cwnheon
{ ... }
her eyes flicked up to him off to the side, brows furrowing in anger as another one of those who she unfortunately shared blood with, did their best at shooting her down.
she pinnately gave him the middle finger, though she fished out her journal to speak in response.
and do you think that you’re worth it enough in your entirety to take father’s place? or did you forget that birth right means nothing? you’re no better than me.
the princess wrote, pen dancing along the faded green lines on the tanned pages.
to say that jaejin had wanted the throne since day one would be a complete lie, up until he had turned 18 years old he could care less about even the idea of sitting up there and having the power that came with it, though it was exactly at the time of his eighteenth birthday that things changed for him. it was then that he had had to become this monster which he had become today, the monster which had lost probably a lot more than he had gained.
his old self would have been more than happy to have such an addition to the family, someone who could take his spot in line for the throne while he continued to hide away when given the chance, however, the person he was today was the complete opposite and wanted nothing more than to watch everyone around him, especially heon, fail at achieving the throne. maybe if he had a little bit of his old humanity from when he was fifteen, he would feel sorry towards all of his sisters, but he didn’t and he would do anything to block them.
jaejin watches as she flips him off, chuckling in amusement at the gesture before letting out a small yet soft sigh while shaking his head slowly. then he reads what she writes, eyebrow rising slowly as he reads it word by word.
he lets out a small scoff, his expression not once changing even as he glances over at her, clearly amused by even the words that she had wrote down. “that is true, birth right doesn’t mean it’s guaranteed for those of us directly under the current queen and king will get the throne, though i think you’re forgetting a small little detail there my dear sister.” he leans a little closer, voice becoming a whisper as he continues. “i’ve been at this a lot longer than you have. besides, i highly doubt that they would consider some outsider such as yourself fit for the throne anytime soon.”
his words are harsh, however, he has no hesitation when saying them. why should he? in his eyes, everyone within this room were nothing more than enemies, competition to what he desired the most.

cwninsu:
REMEMBER US
insu’s emotions were everywhere. part of him didn’t want to believe the words that jaejin was saying, that he was lying because he was afraid. but he wasn’t prepared for what was coming at him next. he wasn’t ready for the words that jaejin was going to say. insu’s eyes began to water as he watched jaejin’s cocky expression.
when jaejin spoke the words insu made one step backwards. it felt like he was going to drop to the ground. but he couldn’t give him that satisfaction. he refused to let jaejin see that he was really in that much pain. was everything really a lie? did he really walk up to him just because he wanted to know the competition. everything was beginning to make sense. insu brought his hand up to his necklace that he shared with jaejin, letting the ring settle in his palm. this was all a lie?
insu pulled it off of his neck and looked at it for a moment. should he keep it, or should he do what he really thinks he should? he never had felt so betrayed and suddenly so alone. insu couldn’t muster a single word. all he could do was with all of his might throw his necklace at jaejin’s feet and slowly retreat towards his room.
jaejin knows that his own words are harsh, that what he’s said up to this point made him look like an ass, but he needed to do what he could in order to make sure that this all didn’t fall through. he hated that it had to come to this, that he had to lie to the one person he truly cared about, though that’s why he was doing all of this. he cared so much for insu that he didn’t want the other, who wasn’t even worried about the throne, to get involved in any of it.
he watches as the other steps back, jaejin gripping the hem of his own shirt to keep himself from reaching out towards insu, to keep himself from blowing everything he had just said and the way that he had acted. jaejin watches closely as the other grabs his necklace, the ring that matched with the very one which jaejin had hidden underneath his shirt. he watches as the other male tosses it to his feet and walks away, leaving jaejin there to just stare at insu’s back until he can no longer see him.
his eyes sting, the tears welling up in his eyes as his expression changes from the cocky expression to more of a pained expression, slowly bending down to retrieve the ring, jaejin stays crouched for a short while as he stares at it in the palm of his hand. “I’m sorry...insu..” his voice cracks, whispering these words that the other probably will never hear, a few tears spilling down his cheeks as he finally allows himself to stand and slowly walk away. the ring in jaejin’s hand feels as if it could burn a hole through his hand as he clenches it within his fist, still telling himself even now that this is what was best for insu.

cwninsu:
REMEMBER US
{ ... }
he was never the type to beg. and he wouldn’t. if this was his decision, then he would have to accept it and move on. because if jaejin didn’t want to fight for it why should he? “you could have just been a man about it and told me you didn’t feel the same” insu’s emotions were mixed between extreme anger and extreme sadness. neither would end up being good things for the prince.
it was practically killing jaejin to even do any of this to insu, to be lying right to his face...well, at least not telling the whole truth, and he hated that he even had to do this. on the outside he was remaining as this uncaring, cold, person but on the inside he wanted nothing more than to just grab a hold of the other male, to pull him into his arms and show him that he really meant the world to him. but he couldn’t allow that, he had to stay strong in order to keep insu protected, not only from the dangers that could come in the future but from jaejin as well. there was no telling what sort of monster he would end up having to become in order to carry out his plans.
jaejin listens closely to what insu has to say, allowing his gaze to finally shift to the other male as he stands there. each word sends his own heart shattering into a million pieces, feeling as if he’s going to be sick, but he keeps that hidden inside. instead, jaejin allows himself to smirk, letting out a dry laugh to help with his little act that he has going on in front of the other male. “do you really think that i actually meant everything that i had said to you? i didn’t think you were that gullible, insu.” he pauses briefly to run his fingers through his hair, letting out a small sigh as he shakes his head. “feel the same about what?” he plays dumb, though he knows exactly what the other means.
“are you talking about what happened that night?” another laugh as he averts his gaze from insu once again. “that was nothing. it meant nothing to me insu. that should have been very clear when i didn’t speak to you afterwards that night.” his heart tells him to shut up, to just stop talking now before he says something that he’ll regret, though his brain doesn’t listen and what he says next is something that he instantly regrets. “from the day that i met you, i’ve only been using you. i guess you could say i’ve been testing you to see if you were more competition for the throne, though after observing you...” he glances over insu and smirks at the other. “i can tell that i have nothing to worry about with you.”

Dangerous Location: Hearts Kingdom a starter for @yuryecwn
from the time that jaejin had first met yurye, and even realized the way that the younger male had felt towards eunae, jaejin began scheming in his head. this bit of information was definitely something that he saw as some sort of opportunity for him to use this to his advantage, to possibly help get at least one of his sisters out of his way.
if he could somehow get yurye to either take his sister to another kingdom or even just convince her to give up on the throne, it would make his job a lot easier and cut down his competition. there were a few ways that jaejin could go about all of this, a few ways that he could try and put his plans into action, though the first step was to try and get his sister and the younger male together somehow while also taking on that role of the ‘nice’ and ‘caring’ big brother.
it wasn’t like he couldn’t act, seeing as he had done it over the past 15 years now with ease, though it was the part about getting the two together that seemed to be a bit more difficult, especially since it seemed as if eunae wasn’t interested in the younger male.
jaejin had spoken with his private knight over the matter a countless amount of times, though neither of them could really come up with any sort of solution as to how this could all work out. it wasn’t as if he could control how his sister feels towards someone, he knows at least that the human heart was something that wasn’t so easily swayed or controlled, thanks to his own experience in the past. for now he would just have to wait and see, to just play it all by ear and hope that he could somehow convince his sister that yurye was ‘the one’ for her.
speaking of yurye, jaejin raises a brow as he spots the younger male and lets a slight smirk appear on his face before he quickly changes it into the same fake smile he’s used to using by now. approaching the other male, jaejin holds a hand up and gives a small wave to the other. “hey there, yurye. are you busy at the moment?” that’s it, just play pretend, act like you actually want to spend time with the other. “if you aren’t, i was wondering if you wanted to go do something? i'm finished with my tasks for the day and wanted to have a bit of fun to relax and relieve some stress...that is if you’re up for it?”

hello ! i promise i’m still alive (sort of) and here ! i had planned on getting caught up on everything this past weekend BUT... well it just didn’t happen. Saturday i ended up having to go into work because of people freaking out over little things (my job title requires me or the guy i work with to be present when our boss isn’t in town so the other guy had to leave work and that resulted in me having to go in). Then on Sunday I was trying to do stuff here but, again, people freaking out at work so i was literally back and forth between home and there all day to take care of the issues they were having there... yesterday really was just a horrible day for me, both mentally and physically, and by the time i got home i just didn’t have the energy to even do any sort of writing or plotting (it was so bad that i actually was crying on my way home in the car because of my anxiety and the stress that i had with literally NOTHING working out right at work). ANYWAYS i’ll be getting to dm’s and replies here within the next couple hours but i just wanted to apologize to those waiting on me to respond either to dm’s or threads.

cwninsu:
REMEMBER US
{ ... }
—FAST FORWARD–
the next few weeks were really weird for him. suddenly jaejin wasn’t hanging around him. he wasn’t spending time with him like he usually did. but as time went on he refused to not get answers. these days without insu with him during every moment was hurting his heart. it almost made him physically ill. he had previously texted jaejin to meet with him to get some kind of explanation, and he was able to finally get the other to agree. insu was lost in thought as jaejin’s words spat at him as if they were large knives directed straight to his heart ‘is this going to take long? i’m sort of busy and have things i need to get done.’ why was he being suddenly so cold.
insu had to stop himself from showing the emotion that was running through his body. the hurt. the pain. “what the hell jaejin?! why are you acting like this?” insu could understand if he didn’t feel the same way as him. he really understood. but to blatantly do this? he knew exactly what was going to happen next, but he didn’t want to accept it. he would force jaejin to actually say it to his face.
jaejin felt horrible for doing this, felt as if he should be thrown into the depths of hell for even considering, throwing away his friendship he had with insu just to carry out his plans. he was breaking his own promise to the other, the one where he had said that he would never leave him, that insu was stuck with him for the rest of their lives. if it weren’t for that kiss, then maybe jaejin wouldn’t be doing this all right now. it was because of that night that he had become dead set on doing whatever he could to protect insu, to make sure that no harm came to the other while he had come to the decision to take the queen of hearts down, his own mother.
insu’s words cause jaejin’s chest to ache, his heart feeling heavy as the two stand there and jaejin acts as if he’s indifferent about how the other may be feeling right now. he has no choice but to do this because if his best friend were to end up being put in the middle of this battle that jaejin had decided to take on, he would never be able to live with himself knowing that insu was harmed because of his desire to try and make things right within the hearts kingdom.
he stands there, letting out a heavy sigh of annoyance as he finally turns his gaze onto insu, keeping his expression as serious and emotionless as he can to avoid the other suspecting anything. “acting like what? i just asked if this was going to take long.” his tone is flat, different than his usual friendly and loving tone he uses with insu. “i’ve been thinking lately, and i think we should end this friendship between us. i want to take things more seriously and go for the throne, but being friends with my competition won’t work and will only drag me down.”
his own words practically kill him, stabbing at his heart as he says them to insu, though it’s what needs to be done. he needs to make sure that insu will always be safe, and if that meant making the other hate him then so be it. he would still love insu no matter what, even if he had to watch the other from afar, he would continue to make sure that no harm came to him over the years without insu knowing.

Knives and Pens Location: kingdom of hearts a closed starter for @cwnheon
jaejin honestly wasn’t very big on parties, he never had been even when he was younger, though he still did have to keep up his act of the ‘charming prince’ after all, an act that mostly everyone within the kingdoms seemed to believe over the years since he had decided to become greedy for the throne. if he had to pretend he was even somewhat of a decent human being - which he wasn’t at all, then that’s exactly what he would do.
aside from those that did believe the façade he put up for those around him, there were some that just didn’t fall for this act. one of those being none other than his younger half-sister, ahn nanseolheon. he remembers the first day that she had shown up, remembers how he had realized that he had one more person to worry about when it came to the throne and getting in the way of what he desired, and honestly it was nice in some sort of way that she had managed to figure out that he wasn’t exactly the ‘brotherly’ type of prince that others believed him to be. it just made it easier for him to not have to fake a smile or even act like he cared for her.
the only time that jaejin did have to get along with the female was during events in which others were present. he still had to play his part right? though, behind closed doors the two would often make the snarkiest remarks to one another, even share a few glares here and there which showed that the two didn’t plan on becoming best friends anytime soon, or probably never would even in the future.
as they stand beside one another, jaejin glancing around the room and eyeing all of the ‘competition’, he keeps that same fake smile plastered to his face even as he speaks in a lone tone for only the female to hear. “you know, it’s not too late for me to convince the queen and king to send you back to where you came from. it would be more fitting for you, besides” he pauses as he finally allows his gaze to fall onto her, the smile on his face turning a bit more into a smirk. “you don’t even have the slightest chance at the throne. you’re fighting a losing battle that you won’t be able to win.”
he’s taunting her, knowing very well that she won’t back down, though it’s still interesting to get some sort of reaction out of her. did he believe that she truly had a chance? not really, especially since she had practically showed up at their doorstep claiming to be the king’s daughter. jaejin still didn’t believe it to be true, figuring that the female had schemed this whole thing from the beginning, however, there was still some slight chance that it was in fact true.

cwninsu:
REMEMBER US
insu playfully hits the other’s shoulder “hey, at least you spend the study time with me” jaejin’s words made his heart flutter. jaejin was someone he deeply relied on. being here with him was something that was as part of his life as breathing was. “i’ll hold you to that you know. if you leave me, i’ll never forgive you” as he says it, he knows that even if there came a time where they parted ways, he knew that he would always take him back, he’d always forgive him.
hearing him wine insu chuckled and went back to running his hands through the other’s hair. if jaejin didn’t mind it, then why should he? insu looked down at his watch and gasped realizing the time. “what do you want to do for the little while we have left before we have to go back to the palace?” he knew the time was drawing near even if he didn’t want it to.
even though he isn’t hit hard, jaejin acts as if he’s hurt while holding onto his shoulder. “ow! i think you broke my shoulder, insu!” he does his best to keep a straight face, though he can’t help but laugh before nodding in response. “that’s true. spending time with you is definitely the only good thing that comes out of studying.” it’s the words that insu speaks next that causes jaejin’s eyebrows to furrow as he looks up at the other, becoming serious as he lays there. “i would never leave you, insu...ever.” he states this, being very honest with his best friend and not once taring his gaze from the others.
it’s only when insu begins running his fingers through his hair once again that he allows himself to relax again, managing to close his eyes for a short moment before he’s started by insu’s gasping. his gaze returns to the other males, scrunching his nose up at the thought of having to return before he finally speaks. “we could just stay here.. let me just rest my eyes for a bit before we have to return.” he states, yawning as he slowly closes his eyes before adjusting his head to the side a bit.
jaejin is close to falling asleep, feeling more comfortable than ever, when he suddenly feels something on his lips which causes him to jolt out of his sleepy state. his eyes open quickly, widened as he looks at the pair of eyes staring back at him. had insu just kissed him? was this some sort of dream? no, it was real and this fact is even more clear as he quickly sits up and pinches his own arm to make sure of this. it’s like there’s no sound at all, like he can’t hear even his own breathing as he sits there in shock for a moment, though when he clears his throat and glances over at his friend he can’t help but feel the awkwardness that surrounds them at this point.
“we...should probably head back...” he says this as he swiftly stands from the bench and avoids making eye contact with insu, still trying to process what had just happened. even as the two manage to make their way back, there’s nothing but silence between the pair of friends, jaejin’s mind racing as he tries his best to wrap his head around everything. when it’s time to really part ways, he manages a quick. “see you tomorrow” before he rushes off to his own room.
------fast forward to a few weeks later------
it’s been a few weeks since that night, the two of them managing to get through lessons together but at the same time, jaejin had ended up having his thoughts overtaken by other matters than the sudden kiss that had happened. he had realized how his own mother was, realizing just how greedy and scheming she was. it was something he just hadn’t wanted to believe over the past few years of his life, though it took him witnessing something for him to finally see just what sort of person she really was, and at the same time this managed to spark that determination within him to stop her, to bring her down from the throne and take it as his in hopes of correcting all of her wrongdoings.
though, in order to do this, he had to do something that he promised he would never do. he had to leave insu which would end up breaking his promise that he made the other that night. jaejin didn’t want his best friend getting drug into the middle of what he would eventually have to do, he wanted to protect insu from all of that, and if it meant that he had to cut off all communication with the other then he would. as long as insu stayed safe and out of harms way.
despite his way of thinking, there was only so long he could go before being confronted by the other, no matter how much he tried his best to avoid him after their lessons, and here they were facing one another after weeks of not speaking. jaejin continues avoiding eye contact with insu, looking rather irritated and uninterested. “is this going to take long? i’m sort of busy and have things i need to get done.” his tone is flat, different than the usual caring and friendly tone he used with insu. even his own words hurt him but he had no choice but to make insu give up.

Illusion Location: kingdom of hearts a closed starter for @cwneunae
“Be careful who you trust and tell your problems to. Not everyone who smiles at you is your friend.”
none of this was new to jaejin, meeting up with one of his twin sisters, eunae, to ‘chat’ and have a few laughs or even him listening to her concerns she’s having. it’s true that, up until he was eighteen, he actually did care about hearing what all she was worried about, what was bothering her in her life. it was true that at some point he actually would care about her wellbeing and gladly stand up for her when times got hard, however things change - people change, and he wasn’t the same big brother he once had been.
at this point it was all mostly just him gathering information about her weaknesses, figuring out how he could possibly take her down if that day came where she really became a threat to his plans revolving around the throne. even if, by some chance, he were to revert back to his old self, it would be too late for him to even think about genuinely caring for her once again. the damage he had done to her over the past 12 years, without her knowledge of any of it even happening right under her nose, would be too much for her to even possibly forgive him if she were to find out how he had been using her this whole time.
did he feel bad for becoming the monster that he had become? maybe deep down he did, very deep down, but he couldn’t dwell on the past or any regrets, he had to take their mother down and rid her of the throne no matter what. in his mind, this was the only way to make things right in the world, at least that’s what his intentions had been in the beginning. over time it was as if the greed had finally swallowed him whole, as if he didn’t have an ounce of humanity left within him to even care about who he hurt along the way. at least that’s what he thinks anyway.
jaejin is sitting there, enjoying his cup of coffee, as he runs through his plans for the day in his head while he awaits for eunae to arrive. it had become a routine by now that the two of them did practically every single day, unless either were too busy to show up, and he would listen to her talk while acting as if he truly cared about whatever it was that she was upset over.
as he takes another sip of his hot beverage, something - or rather someone, catches his attention out of the corner of his eye and he turns his head to see who it is. showtime. jaejin allows that usual ‘brotherly’ smile form on his lips as he realizes it’s eunae, setting his cup down before waving her over to him. “how’s my favorite little sister doing today?” he asks this as he continues with his act. “don’t let the others know that you’re the favorite, we don’t want to have them trying to fight you for my attention.” he jokingly states, as he stands to give eunae a hug as he usually does.

i’m being a bit slow with replying to dm’s and getting starters/replies done this week because work is starting to pick up and get busier atm, which means i’m even more tired when i get home from work and i hate it so much. ;; BUT i do know that friday-sunday i WILL be around a lot more those 3 days (friday of course after work) because i don’t plan on going anywhere this weekend so i can focus on getting caught up on not only jaejin but also the other 4 muses i have elsewhere. at this point, during the weekdays, i may only be able to push out 1 or 2 replies until work slows down again but i promise i’m not ignoring anyone or trying to ghost any of you... i’m just dying from exhaustion over here.. sdlkjfslkjd

The (Temporary) Alliance Location: kingdom of hearts a closed starter for @cwnabi
“If I learned anything from my mom it’s to keep your friends close and your enemies closer.”
if there’s something that jaejin learned over the past 12 years, it’s that you can’t really underestimate others, especially those who also have their eyes set on the throne. this proved to only make things more difficult for everyone fighting for it, even more so for jaejin himself since it just meant that he had more people standing in his way of carrying out his plans and getting what he wanted. it was an uphill battle that he was fighting, and in the end he had come to realize that he would have no choice but to at least create an alliance with someone in the meantime to help him take out the competition.
so, after thinking long and hard about the matter, jaejin had run through the list of individuals that could at least prove to be useful in some way to him. yes, there were many options out there, though there was one person in particular that had seemed to catch his attention and stand out more than the rest. baek nabi.
of course, he despised the idea of teaming up with anyone for such matters, but he seemed to be getting nowhere at this point with the constant growing competition so it was time to put his own ego to the side and make at least a temporary alliance in order to hopefully speed this whole process up even in the slightest. even his own private knight had suggested that he find someone who could manage to get by without raising suspicions among the others within the kingdom, compared to a private knight roaming around the halls trying to gather any sort of information he can for jaejin to use against every individual.
jaejin lets out a small sigh of annoyance as he makes his way down the hall, having received information on where he could possibly find nabi at this time of day. he occasionally manages his usual charming smile as he meets others along the way, of course having to keep up his façade in order to not raise any questions, and it isn’t until he finally spots the female that he truly becomes straight-faced and serious. he approaches her, only stopping once he’s a few feet away. “there you are. i’ve been looking for you.” he states this as stares at her for a moment. “i have something to discuss with you, that is, if you’re willing to agree.”
he knows this is a long shot but he at least has to try and make some sort of effort here.
