Anyway, last thing I wanna say about the wizard game, because quite frankly I'm tired.
All of the anger and vitriol being thrown around on both sides has only helped the game's visibility and sales. As far as the publisher is concerned, all publicity is good publicity, and the games sales have definitely not been hurt at all.
At this point, getting angry at people over it isn't going to accomplish anything, so my suggestion would be to do one or more of the following instead;
Donate to a trans-specific or trans-supportive LGBT+ charity (e.g. Mermaids, The Trevor Project, Stonewall, etc.)
Promote indie games made by trans developers
Call out transphobia when you see it, and stick up for trans people both online and IRL
Getting mad at people over the internet isn't going to accomplish anything good. It's only going to keep the game trending, keep it in the public eye, and keep the sales of it high.
You may as well just channel that outrage into something productive instead.

I am so serious when I say if you want to learn about light, you NEED to at least look at modeseven’s tutorials. even if you’re not pursuing a painterly style, this is all essential theory that can be easily adapted to different coloring styles. notice how none of these ever say ‘light with these colors and shade with these colors’? notice how this is teaching how light works on a mechanical level, and reminding the audience to adjust the actual colors they choose by context? THAT is good advice.
(if you’re thinking ‘wow I want to study more of this persons art!’ I encourage you to do so, but proceed with the knowledge that modeseven draws pretty much exclusively weird as hell kink art. sometimes wisdom comes from horny places)

seems that Chrome has around 60-65% market share, so it’s not totally dominating the market yet but it’s worrying that we’re basically reliant on Apple and Microsoft to hold the line.

Quick little video tutorial! This is a method I use to block in shapes when I’m fighting the urge to polish my lineart at an early stage, especially in rough concept art that doesn’t actually need polished lineart.
I group two layers in photoshop—a rough sketch, and a flat color—and then carve out the negative space by painting into a mask on the group, instead of filling in the positive shapes. From there I can start painting and adding shading into that group, knowing that I’ve already locked down a good initial silhouette for the object/character:
It feels like oil painting, and I end up finding silhouettes/shapes in a way I wouldn’t if I was obsessively cleaning up the linework first. Digital art has a tendency to veer towards cleanliness/polish, so I love finding little opportunities for happy accidents and a bit of mess!
I used it on my unicorn piece last month, for instance, which I think would have lost a lot of its dynamism and charm if I had worried too much about doing a full ink pass:

Hope this is at all helpful! It’s not a method I use 100% of the time, but it really helps move my process along when I do need it 👍🏼

Hii!! I adore your blog and especially your rec lists ❤ Can you recommend some books related to geopolitics, international trade and international relations. I am an aspiring diplomat and would really appreciate your help Thank you !!
(btw I am Indian🙆♂️)
Hello, thank you! Here you go:
The End of History and the Last Man by Francis Fukuyama: on the post-Cold War global order; you could argue the argument is obsolete now, but this is a important read anyway because you have to know what’s been said and written
The Clash of Civilizations and the Remaking of the World Order by Samuel P. Huntington: about forces that shape conflict in the post-Cold War world; also about what the global order would look like
The Revenge of Geography by Robert D. Kaplan: about what geography can tell us about conflicts and possible directions that international politics would take; really good analysis, full of conviction
Prisoners of Geography by Tim Marshall: more on what the map and geography tells us about global diplomacy and international politics
Monsoon: The Indian Ocean and The Future of American Power by Robert D. Kaplan: about strategic power in the Indian Ocean, focuses on naval power, important given that we in India have started taking into account naval power and naval history lately
Belt and Road by Bruno Macaes: about the Belt and Road project and the kind of international order it and China through the project envisions; the politics of the project,
War and Peace in Modern India: a Strategic History of the Nehru Years by Srinath Raghavan: starter pack really on what shaped early foreign policy and strategic engagements in Nehru’s India
The Most Dangerous Place by Srinath Raghavan: about American involvement in Asia right from the 19th century; great if you want to understand the geopolitics of South Asia and how it was offset by US involvement/engagement
The India Way: Strategies for an Uncertain World by S. Jaishankar: probably one of the most up-to-date analyses of global crises and what India has to navigate; Dr Jaishankar is the minister now and he’s had a wonderful career in diplomacy so he knows what he’s doing, also given his affiliation with the government the book provides insight on official policy really well
The Oxford Handbook of Indian Foreign Policy by Srinath Raghavan, C. Raja Mohan, David Malone: another starter pack, has a bunch of essays on different areas of Indian foreign policy
Fateful Triangle: How China Shaped U.S.-India Relations During the Cold War by Tanvi Madan: pretty much what it says, focuses on the decades between 1949 and 1979; the book was well-received so it’s worth a read
Fire and Fury: Transforming India’s Strategic Identity by Anil Kakodkar, Suresh Gangotra: a recollection of Kakodkar’s journey from beginnings in Madhya Pradesh to the highest Office of the Chairman of the Atomic Energy Commission through different events and watershed moments in the country Atomic energy programme over the past forty-five years
Breakout Nations by Ruchir Sharma: not exactly about international economy, but it does look at a list of economies and charts their growth and through that process it is about global economic development and the policy decisions around it
The New Silk Roads by Peter Frankopan: about changing global power dynamics and how and why Asia will potentially determine the direction of global politics
The Costliest Pearl: China’s Struggle for India’s Ocean by Bertil Lintner: about Chinese involvement in the Indian Ocean, kind of historical; it’s a useful read
Other than this you can also read articles by Gateway House, ORF or IDSA, because they’ll give you current expert opinion and analyses.
I hope that helps, and good luck!
