In celebration of getting the Jungle Adventures pack, I made a new game! Here's the Montore family, two sets of twins. Their mother, Sloane, was an avid archaeologist, and spent more time in the jungles of Salvadorado than she did with her kids. It was okay, because they had a nanny, but when Sloane didn't come back from an expedition for months it became clear that something had gone terribly wrong.

(tsk tsk, Mz. Montore. You should have known better than to be careless about traps. And so close to your final goal, too)

Ada has a love-hate relationship with archaeology. Deep down, she hopes that maybe their mother is just lost in the jungle -- that if she can get good enough, she can rescue her from some horrendous trap and finally get the recognition she craved and the apology they all deserve. She even scraped together enough money for an excursion (after Sloane disappeared, debtors came crawling out of the woodwork and the money rapidly disappeared.)

Axtre knows better. They never had much of an interest in their mother's work, and therefore she never had much of an interest in them. They always sought validation from elsewhere, and continue to do so now. They went along with Ada the first time she went looking for Sloane, because the only thing worse than both of them dying and leaving the younger twins alone would be Ada dying and leaving Axtre alone to raise the kids.

Despite this, Ada and Axtre don't get along too great. They're high-schoolers who want vastly different things out of life and are also being forced to coparent their younger siblings, no duh they're stressed. They had a reasonable division of labor going in the house, but then the stove exploded and set Axtre on fire, instilling a deep pyrophobia in them. The twins have stuck together through the hardest of times, but that's the only time they really cooperate seamlessly.

Avi and Anya... don't remember their mother all that well. They knew to love her, and to cry when they heard she was gone, but not too much of their daily routine has changed. Their siblings now make more of an effort to spend time with them, though, and they've noticed. Avi cleans up around the house whenever he has a minute to spare. Anya spends her time in the garden, dragging the heavy hose over to water them if they look wilted. And when the elder twins fight, the younger two split up to console them and try to repair things.
