Another amazing commission by eydika! My Fallen Hero series MC, Katie Attwood, with her RO, Ricardo Ortega, along with some of the Rat King and a Sidestep cup!

Katie was formerly known as Charge's sidekick (though she'll claim she wasn't. She was just keeping him from getting his ass killed) and they had a thing. Still do. She's a tech-savvy tactician who prefers to go unnoticed with low infamy and arrogance. She's cautious with a too much empathy for her own good. As a villain she calls herself Lamina with a functional suit who is known as a tech thief. She lives in her base which happens to be an old water treatment plant. If possible... she'd probably return to being a hero... just don't tell Ortega.

I’ve seen a lot of Fallen Hero art where the MC has thin scars on their hands and face from the window they jumped out of during Heartbreak.  I love the thought artists put into the scars. There’s angst potential in physical heartbreak scars. And I wonder how clean those scars would be compared to other scars the MC has.

But what about Sidestep without scars? What if the Farm decided to treat/remove all the scars the MC got in their time away from the Farm?

I don’t know if the scars are canon or not. But wouldn’t it be nasty if the Farm could take every mark you made on your body, take away every change you made, all proof you were Sidestep and yourself. It would be 5 years of scars at least. That could fuck up any MC who likes gaining scars or sees them as proof they’re human/alive. 

And could be especially horrible for trans MCs. It would really fuck up my new sidestep Caise. They put a lot of effort into making their body theirs. And the Farm could take that all away. I can’t imagine how horrible it would be to have to restart medically transitioning from scratch after escaping.

It would probably feel like a violation to have people take everything you were and had away from you. Everything but your powers. The ones you got from them without your consent. (Everything about the farm is an autonomy violation isn’t it). 

It might be unnecessary and expensive for the Farm but they put you back in breathing and walking order anyway. That might have not been fully necessary either and probably wasn’t easily or cheap. And it would hammer in you don’t own your own body. Plus, they could rub in it. Tell you “you clearly can’t take care of yourself.” How you “clearly” needed them for “repairs”.

And besides for the loss, violation and angst. If Ortega or Chen notice you’re missing scars they saw you get you could be in real trouble. Especially with the [redacted].
