I dream of a better place.

Concept: a suicide prevention group with a toll free line - based locally in every city and town around the world, because when you call it, your location is paired with someone else nearby who heads over to visit, listen and help you take the steps towards figuring out what you can do, and what the next step is.

And the reason that person is part of the program is because they volunteered either out of kindness, or because they lost a friend or family member to suicide and they wanted to help someone else before that same pain hurt another.

Each person who volunteers goes through a few courses (again this is all in a perfect world where training and everything is covered by charity) before their number and location is added.

They're taught a basic kit to help talk the person down, to listen to their problems, to offer support and to show them a better way.

Again, these people may never have met before. They may never meet again. But in that moment that stranger who came to you when you needed it most, when you cried out into the void for help, is the most important person in the world for the time they're with you. Because someone cares. Because someone is trying. Because someone will listen and if not help you themselves, lead you towards someone who can help.

I wonder if I actually could get it started.. Get the idea to float around enough people to start a basic group. Doesn't need to be a big one I reckon, but a group to take courses on diffusing situations, some basic trauma, grief, depression and anxiety courses to help the person who needs it and then get numbers out.

This is me being hypothetical of course. I'd need a lot more ironed out details and wrinkles than this to get it to anything near a plan. But it's nice to dream sometimes.

D&A: As it is it looks gorgeous, it reflects a life pruned to a specific pathway and even though it's not perfect according to someone else, it is still unique which makes it perfect in its own rights.

I Got Up Because I Miss You Ripples across a black lake fade into the darkness as another call echoes off into the void. I heard it again, I was sure of it. Your soft voice calling me into the inky deeps... But you wouldn't do that, would you? I close my eyes, the dull illumination from around me shut out as I try to sink back into slumber, but your voice calls again, insistent but... Foreign. I can't understand what you're calling out for... A shout now, my name, and I sit bolt upright. The ripples fade out into the abyss again but I have to risk it, I have to step into the lake of darkness... For you.
