REPOST FROM MY INSTAGRAM: Ok. So here is a faux screenshot I made of Varian for Tangled: The Series. I made this using a faux storyboard done by the lovely @annacles.art on Instagram as my reference (her panel will be included as the last image). I did the entire thing in the Procreate app.

This was a labor of love, between translating Anna’s art style into Varian’s canon look, recreating the nearly line-less art style that the show used (which this was my first time doing that) and then doing the full background and lighting. I used Varian’s Season 3 model sheet as a reference, both for his appearance and for his color pallet. Additionally, I used a lot of screenshots from the show as reference for colors and for how things such as stone walls and the various textures for stone and metal should look.

I am also including both a version of Varian without his apron (I drew it initially following the faux storyboard before I realized it was missing. While I added his apron to stick to canon, I like how both versions came out) and the background by itself. I am additionally including the full copies of both versions of Varian, both colored and the sketches, and one of the final copies that has the background but is cropped so it can maybe be used for a wallpaper.

REPOST FROM MY INSTAGRAM: Here are a couple drawings I did of Meg from the Disney short “Paperman.” They are redraws from some of the model sheets for her character. I drew them in pencil, scanned it and then colored the one drawing digitally in Procreate. Included is both drawings without any color added as well as a close-up of the colored drawing, both with and without a vignette.

REPOST FROM MY INSTAGRAM: Here’s a drawing I did of Delia Dennis, one of Harley Quinn’s twin granddaughters as well as one half of the villain pair the Dee Dee twins, with her sister Deidre. They were from the series, Batman Beyond. I redrew this from a concept sketch that was done for the show. The drawing itself I did in pencil before scanning it so I could add color and effects on top of it in the Procreate app. I have included my pencil drawing by itself, color with only shading and with lighting added, as well as an additional stylized version. Enjoy!

Next up is the time-lapse from my redraw of Varian from the Season 3 premier episode, “Rapunzel’s Return.” This video is longer than the one posted on Instagram. On Insta it’s 30 seconds, while this version is 1:34. I apologize for the fact that the quality isn’t as clear as the still images. However, with a full runtime of 15 minutes, to cut that time down meant using an app that had to compress the video which affected the quality.

So first up is the time-lapse from the open-collab I did with @lintushadow of Eugene Fitzherbert from Tangled: The Series. The line art was done by them while I did all the coloring, shading, lighting and effects using Procreate on my iPad. I added a better title card at the end from what’s on Instagram, as well as I changed the audio track to what I had originally planned to use (when I first posted this to Insta, the site immediately pulled it off because it flagged the audio track as copyrighted material, despite the fact I’m in no way taking credit for it. Not sure how other people load IGTV videos with copyrighted music so if anyone has tips for doing so successfully, please teach me your ways.)

Hi everyone! So I realized that not only have I forgotten to post a handful of new pieces I’ve done, but I also forgot to post the time-lapse videos for a couple of pieces I already posted the still images of. So I’ll be doing several posts tonight to catch things here up. REPOST FROM MY INSTAGRAM: This took me roughly a month or so of working on and off, but I finally finished all the digital work for this redraw of Varian. For anyone who may have missed the original post of the pencil drawing, this was from the season 3 premiere episode, ‘Rapunzel’s Return.’ I did all the line art, coloring and effects using the Procreate app. Also included are the scan of the pencil drawing, as the original post simply had a photo of it, and Varian without the background and all the effects layers. Hope you all like it. I will also be posting a time lapse of the digital process. Enjoy!

Hello everyone! Here’s a drawing I did of Varian with my OC, Ellie. I did this from a base created by @liz.potent on Instagram. She drew Varian and then a blank base for anyone to draw a second character with him. I made some adjustments to Varian to have him a little closer to his canon appearance by using his Season 3 model sheet for a reference (though hopefully I succeeded in making him look a bit older than on the show). For Ellie, I used a combination of images for reference, both with the images of her I had commissioned from Liz as well as a screenshot of Rapunzel from the show for the pose. I did the whole drawing in Procreate with roughly 200+ layers between line art, flat color, shading, lighting, effects, background and lettering.

Here’s a piece I did as part of an open collaboration. The line art for the piece was done by @lintushadow and then I did the full coloring (including coloring the line art), shading, lighting and textures. I lost track of the exact number of layers I used, as I found that Procreate only allows 250. However, my best guess is 300+ layers were used. I had a lot of fun working on this piece and I hope you all enjoy it! I am including the line art from the original post here as well.

Can you PLEASE do Varian as a Azure Jay bird he instead sacrifice his eggs to Cass and Rapunzel in Freebird in these shots!?

Hello. Thank you so much for your requests. At the current moment, I’m not sure how successful I would be with this, as it would involve more work than I typically do. That being said, I will do some sketches and see if I can draw Varian as a bird (I looked up the species you picked and I say great choice! That would really suit Varian well). If I’m successful with drawing him as a bird, I will then try to incorporate him into those screenshots.

Hello! Thank you so much for taking an interest in my art!!! ☺️💜💜💜 I am currently backed up on wips (though I do have a bit of a cache built up of drawings already completed to post here). That being said, if there is a particular image you’d like me to do a redraw of, ESPECIALLY if it’s Varian, feel free to ask me at any time. And who knows? If you ask for a screenshot/comic image that gets me particularly inspired, I might just put all my current wips on hold to churn it out quicker! 😌

Here are two drawings I recently completed of Rapunzel and Pascal from Tangled: The Series (I know I previously posted a lower quality image of the pencil version at the end of March, but I found when I scanned it I had to fix up a couple of minor smudges and the like). The color image is my first attempt at digital drawing on my laptop. I used the Autodesk Sketchbook app and it is official that I am one of those people who uses a ton of layers (I think there were a total of 69 when all was said and done).
