mikeyway is not a normal man it’s just easy to write him off because he’s open about liking sports now. you all forget about the space heater shower incident or the toaster fork incident and how he invited his internet friends to his first house and the fact that he’s the one who suggested the mcr tattoo porn start merch shirt. When he met his wife he just stood there for 15 minutes talking to her friend she was out to dinner with bc he recognized mikey and Kristin was like Who Is This Guy. He used to just go out in public with his hair slicked down under his glasses Misfits-style and now he’s somehow still allowed to keep doing odd things to his hair. He’s a strange little man but just in a different manner than Gerard is.

thinking about how gerard’s been doing ‘everybody in the whole place whole place’ at the start of mama on this tour. that seems to be a performance quirk of black parade gerard specifically, something immortalized by their final performance in Mexico and that theyve continued to do now that theyre back from the dead. similarly, this tour gerard has been much more restrained in encouraging the audience to sing for them in the second verse, especially compared to last tour. letting the crowd sing half the verse entirely themselves, as a sort of recognition of how important it is to their fans, is something mcr gerard does, but not black parade gerard. idk maybe Im cornplating here, but Im interested in how gerard has been changing how they perform to play the character of black parade gerard, outside of the obvious between-song bits.
