In March 1980, John Wayne Gacy was found guilty of the 33 charges of murder brought against him and was also convicted of sexual assault. He was sentenced to death for his crimes and an execution date was set for 10th May 1994. Fourteen years later, on the morning of 9th May 1994, Gacy was granted a meeting with family members and ordered a last meal consisting of original recipe Kentucky Fried Chicken, fried shrimp, strawberries, and a Diet Coke. A deeper look into Gacy’s background may explain his preference for this particular last meal. In September 1964, 22 year old John Gacy married a woman named Marlynn Myers, who was the daughter of a KFC franchiser based in Iowa named Fred Myers. As a gesture of goodwill, Fred provided a house for the newlywed couple to live in and also 3 KFC restaurants for Gacy to manage, which he handled to the best of his ability. Gacy also had separate commitments working for the ‘Jaycees’, which he took very seriously. The Jaycees was the name given to a group of men and women who united with the main goal of improving the lives and skills of people within the local community. As a senior member of this organisation, Gacy was respected and well-liked. Gacy would often provide buckets of KFC chicken to be distributed around at the Jaycees’ team meetings, which was a gesture much appreciated by other members and added to Gacy’s approachable and kindhearted facade at the time.

Mark Hignett, owner of Oswestry Museum, obtained a number of letters from World War Two. Upon studying the letters closely, he discovered they were a collection of wartime love letters between men. The letters are special because most love letters from homosexuals at the time would have been burned because if they had of been found, they would have been used as evidence. The letters are from Gordon Bowsher, writing to Gilbert Bradley, who was fighting in the Second World War. Homosexuality was illegal in Britain until 1967 and the letters speak about keeping their relationship a secret and travelling to California after the war.
There was around 300 letters and a chunk were missing. While it is known that couple split up, it’s not known as to why - those letters appear to be missing. Gordon went to California on his own and became a well-known horse trainer while. A book about the two men is currently underway. Most poignantly, one letter reads: “Wouldn’t it be wonderful if all our letters could be published in the future in a more enlightened time. Then all the world could see how in love we are.”

“I ought to have been hanged. I deserved it. My crime was worse than Brady’s because I enticed the children and they would never have entered the car without my role … I have always regarded myself as worse than Brady.”
—Myra Hindley, wife of Ian Brady and accomplice in his rape and killing of five small children between 1963 and 1965 (x)

in 2001, Betty scott, dennis’ mother went to speak to her son for the first time in 20 years. she wanted to figure out how a “gentle schoolboy” turned into a mass murder.
betty, 83 at the time, did write to nilsen in the past but no reply. she said: "I would like to speak to him to see why he did this. He was just nothing like what he has turned out to be."
Mrs Scott, who said she felt that "something must have taken hold of him" at the time, added: "He never fought at school. He was never nasty to anybody. I would just give him a cuddle. He is just the same Dennis."
She told Scottish Television, in an interview to be shown on the programme In Confidence, that she had had little contact with Nilsen after he left home in Strichen, Aberdeenshire, at the age of 15 to join the Army.

idk if i’m fucking insane or not but y’all wanna know what case makes me so fucking disgusted but ever since the day i watched that documentary while i was getting my hair done…..i couldn’t stop thinking about it??? the adam walsh case or the ottis toole & Henry lee lucas murders. here’s some reasons why ☺️
• They both were fucking liars, so whatever they said didn’t mean jack shit,,,, so they just held back so many fucking cases getting solved bc they wanted to one up each other
• the adam walsh case is just sad. the idea that he ( ottis) just swooped that child up from a sears….like it’s normal….in broad daylight….while the store was busy….that man feared no one. P L U S,, i can’t get adam’s face out of my head.
• ottis told officers or the interviewer ( i don’t 100% remember) that henry lee lucas killed his favorite niece bc,, and get this,, henry was mad at him,, haunts me???
• ottis got caught by lighting a house on fire??? idk why i’m mentioning this but???
• them lying abt so many murders and making police go on a goose chase makes my blood boil for some reason

Dr David Holmes tells CBS Reality programme Voice of a Serial Killer: "Dennis Nilsen was a serial killer who was a wonderful chameleon. He disappeared into society, he didn't stand out. He was probably someone who would make others probably feel at ease, usually the destitute. In the case of Nilsen he enjoyed people that were very passive. He didn't want interaction much. he enjoyed the company of someone who was pronate, didn't do anything. Who he could kind of feel strong and powerful with."

in a never-before-seen letter, written by dennis nilsen, reveals that he branded himself as a “creative psychopath”. in the unpublished letter, he speaks on how he longed to be caught for his crimes - which was luring men to his home, strangling them, dissecting their dead bodies and then disposing of the parts. he claims that he got a kick out of reviving some of his victims rather than killing them. The letter was written on March 24, 1983, six weeks after his arrest while he was awaiting trial in HMP Brixton. In the letter, titled Mental Condition Notes, Nilsen claims he did not know why he was compelled to kill his 15 victims and attempt to murder a further eight over a five-year period.
he is quoted to say, ‘I have felt that since my teenage days that I am a creative psychopath’
‘In times of acute emotional pressure and under the triggering influence of spirits i.e. alcohol, usually dormant mental forces have been released which have made mine the actions of a destructive psychopath.’

#dennis nilsen#this is my first post so like if this is a mess im sorry#tcc#true crime#like if this flops im fine with it bc its trash#i didnt put all of the information i got bc it wouldve been too much and my phone is at 25

On January 8, 1991, a 15-year-old sophomore transfer at Richardson High School was sent to get an attendance slip after being tardy to his second period English class. Instead of getting the slip, he went to his locker, took out a .357 revolver, and brought it back to class. Upon returning and standing in front of the class, he mentioned to his teacher, “Miss, I got what I really went for,” and shot himself through the mouth. His name was Jeremy Delle and he would be the inspiration for Pearl Jam’s Jeremy.
The note attached was odd to Lisa Moore, an in-school suspension peer that passed messages back and forth with Jeremy. “He would talk about life and stuff,” she said. “He signed all of his notes, Write back. But on January 7 he wrote, Later days. I didn’t know what to make of it. But I never thought this would happen.”

discourse about Anne Frank’s sexual orientation is distasteful because she never had a chance to grow up and determine her identity for herself because she, a child, was murdered by Nazis for being Jewish.
and if you need to think of Anne Frank as bi to care about her and her experiences, then you should think really long and hard about why “being murdered by Nazis for being Jewish” was otherwise insufficient for you.

unless you personally know them or have been given express permission, please don’t contact the families of deceased murderers to ask about their dead children. like, don’t contact sue klebold, don’t contact lionel dahmer, don’t try and find david dahmer, just leave them alone! they’ve been through enough and don’t need a stranger prying into their personal lives and asking about a painful subject. their children did horrible things but these ppl deserve to have their privacy respected!!
